All too often, people complain about how events in the films differ from those written in the Harry Potter novels. People rarely stop to applaud the film creators for their unique moments... until now.

Are there any original movie moments you've seen in the films which you've really enjoyed? Ones that caught you by surprise and left you wanting more?

I think it was interestingg how in the fourth movie Beauxbaton was all girls and Durmstrang all boys and how they had little routines when they entired the great hall. It aadded a nice touch to the movie.

I don't know about anyone else, but I really liked the dance scene between Harry and Hermione in Deathly Hallows Part 1. I thought it was really sweet and very funny, and I never got the feeling that it was "romantic" or anything of the sort. I mean, look at the way Harry dances - how can that be at all romantic?

^ Agreeing with Brigette here, although only to a certain extent. It's not the dancing that I considered romantic but rather the moment at the end, when they looked into each others eyes and looked... well, you know.

Hm, all that comes to mind for me are the moments from HBP.

And the part with Harry at Aragog's funeral. The pincers part.

I don't really like changes at all. But, there was one moment that I could really appreciate and that was in Deathly Hallows Pt. 1. This is going to sound awful, but I liked how Hedwig died heroically, rather than stuck in her cage. I thought it was a nice way to reveal that that was the real Harry, especially since the cut everything out about Stan Shunpike anyways. It's one of the few changes I can actually appreciate.

There were definitely moments they added/didn't add that I was upset about, but several of the added scenes were pretty funny. I especially loved the one from the first film where Dudley falls into the snake's cage and the glass reappears. That was pretty hilarious!

Also the Tale of the Three Brothers animation.

I love in the GoF when Ron has to dance with Professor McGonagall!! It's so cute and funny!!

I like how in the third movie Ron and Hermione have that moment in CoMC. You know the one... she she grabs his hand

I liked the Harry/Hermione dance in Deathly Hallows: Part One. It's not a romantic scene. Just two friends, one trying to cheer up the other. I thought it was a nice action.

Music is just one of those added touches to the movie which makes the scenes much more emotional and memorable. I think some of the compositions by John Williams brought conveyed the magic of the story and added a whole new dimension to scenes such as Harry riding on Buckbeak's back and soaring through the sky beyond the lake and over the castle while "Buckbeak's Flight" was played in the background and "A Window to the Past" played during Harry and Lupin's chat. In twenty years time, if you hear these melodies being played somewhere, you'd instantly remember those scenes from the movie and feel an emotional bond to it just as the first time you heard it. At least I will

Id definitely have agree with Sarahb! The intros that were filmed with Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were great. I felt like doing it that way gave them more notice.

I still wish they'd have done the Death Day party in CoS!

I loved the part where Hermione punched Malfoy's face in the third film. xD Always makes me laugh whenever i watch it.

I looooved it when Harry and Ginny had a lil kiss and George creeps in and is like... 'Morning...' *wink*

Gets me every time.

I also adore Hagrid in the first film. I watched it recently and I didn't realize how funny he was. I actually think it made him one of my favourite characters. XD

That was so funny! I loved it!

My fave moment was in GoF when Neville walks into the common room saying that he just got in. "Me!" I also loved it when Neville was practicing to dance with his pajamas and his dress shoes on. Classic Neville all the way....the only one who truly enjoyed the Yule Ball. Go Neville!


I also liked it when Snape got his shoes puked on in HBP (I think?) and said something like, "You earned a month's worth of detention."

My favourite film moment that is not in the books is a small Snape-Harry dialogue from HBP:

And also, Ron dancing with McGonagall in GoF was priceless!

I can't explain WHY, but I REALLY love the bit in PoA when the choral group is singing in the Great Hall... it was genius and really fit well with the theme of the film in my opinion.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE in GoF the scene where they learn how to dance and Ron has to dance with Mcgonagall!

I like how Neville has his little practice dancing bit

The part in the 7th movie when George goes in during the Ginny/Harry kiss

The part in the 2nd movie where Ron goes "Follow the spiders!? Why couldn't it be follow the butterflies?"


I also like how they had the scene with Hermione in the beginning with her parents because we didn't really get that in the beginning of the book

I also like the fact that Harry tries to leave the borrow in DH1

My favorite part from the movies was from the Chamber of Secrets when Harry was dueling Draco it was silly yet got serious it was just cool.

My favorite is the part in PoA where the Gryffindor boys were eating Bertie Bott's and steam came out of Harry's ears when he ate his. Small scene, but really funny.

OMG! ME TOO! I was really glad that Hedwig was given a more active role in the films as opposed to being a caged owl that was just sort of there. In the film, it showed just how deep the connected between a wizard and their magical familiars can be. It is to the point where Hedwig was willing to sacrifice herself for Harry.

The Harry/Hermione dance in DH p.1! Such a sweet, charming moment that added so much depth to the film.
