Dean Benson Magical Law Enforcement | ☆ KISSme ☆ SSRPG Addict ☆ Cassiopeia ☆ Another for Alan Rickman! I truly adore his performance in Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves & Bottle Shock (if you'd like to listen to him speaking French, I'd reccommend it). His singing in Sweeney Todd nearly made me jumped off my sofa when the first time I heard it.
Ralph Fiennes in English Patient... Gary Oldman in the Book of Eli, the Dark Knight & Red Riding Hood... Helena-Bonham Carter in Sweeney Todd & Alice In Wonderland... Jason Isaacs in Black Hawk Down, Peter Pan & Green Zone.
Edit: Did I mention Sense and Sensibility? I love Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton & Alan Rickman, especially, in the film.

I have to say that I love Alan Rickman in Help! I'm a Fish. He sings...and it is amazing. Oh and then in Robin Hood too. Eviiiiil! Also Rasputin. That movie was awesome.
OMG Helena Bonham Carter...Planet of the Apes. I love that movie. And she was awesome in it.

Well here goes this super-long post:
Alan Rickman: LOVE him in "Sense and Sensibility". Hilarious in "Galaxy Quest". Gotta love it when Hans fakes that American accent in "Die Hard", c'mon people. Singing in "Sweeney Todd" even though he's a totally awesome creep. "Love Actually" was fantastic, even though you hated his character he just did it so well. And, of course, "Dogma" which was hilarious enough when you're used to seeing him as Severus Snape...
Emma Thompson: So cute in "Sense and Sensibility". Alan Rickman's on-screen wife in "Love Actually", which she also did great in. I was also impressed by her in "Stranger Than Fiction".
Maggie Smith: Both "Sister Act" movies were great on Maggie Smith's part - reminded me of McGonagall's sternness as well. She was also incredibly funny and witty in "Murder by Death", a great old-fashioned, whodunit movie.
Michael Gambon: The only thing I've seen him in is "The Book of Eli" and, since I have no recollection of him in that movie, I wouldn't say it's my favorite non-Potter role of his...
Gary Oldman: Incredible in "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight". Now, HE was very good in "The Book of Eli", that I remember... Also "Red Riding Hood" was a good movie for him.
John Hurt: Great in the newest "Indiana Jones". He was one of the only things I liked about that movie...
Helena Bonham Carter: One word - "Merlin" (no pun intended), now that was some kind of acting there. Also great in "Sweeney Todd". WONDERFUL in "The King's Speech". A nice touch for her to be in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" as well.
Jason Issacs: Blown away when I found out he was Zhao in "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Looking forward to seeing him in "Abduction" as well as the TV series "Awake" due out this fall in the US.
Jim Broadbent: He was the other good thing in the new "Indiana Jones" in addition to John Hurt. Also fantastic in "The Young Victoria" I loved his character.
Bill Nighy: He was great in the last two "Pirates of the Caribbeans". Also hysterically funny in "Love Actually".
Miranda Richardson: SO creepily good in "Merlin".
Ralph Fiennes: Charming as ever in "Maid in Manhattan".
Timothy Spall: Very funny in "Enchanted". Stayed true to the character of Mr. Poe in "A Series of Unfortunate Events".
Warwick Davis: Fantastic as Nikabrik in the second "Chronicles of Narnia"!
Richard Griffiths: Brought even more comedy to "Bedtime Stories". Just loved it.
Ian Hart: Subtle, but present in "Enemy of the State". Good movie, good Ian.
John Cleese: Voiced the King in "Shrek" and was great with Julie Andrew.
Jamie Cambell Bower: Good and intimidating in "New Moon". Young and lively in "Sweeney Todd".
Pam Ferris: Loved her in "Matilda". Not so much in "Turn of the Screw".
Fiona Shaw: Great as the judge in "Fracture".
Robert Pattinson: Very cute in "Remember Me". Not much emotion in any of the "Twilight" movies unfortunately...
Clemence Poesy: Good but brief in "127 Hours".
Imelda Staunton: Actually CUTE in "Sense and Sensibility"!
Gemma Jones: Also great in "Sense and Sensibility".
Miriam Margolyes: Awesome nanny in "Romeo + Juliet".
Tom Felton: I'm excited to see him in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes".
Emma Watson: I will be FIRST in line to see "Perks of Being a Wallflower". With Emma, plus Nina Dobrev, plus being filmed in beautiful Pittsburgh, PA, I'm just SO anxious for it to come out.
...Okay I think that's quite enough for one night.

Every one who I've spotted in both Harry Potter and Doctor Who - those are always going to be favorites, especially David Tennant Helena Bonham Carter - I love her in everything I've seen her in, particularly "Fight Club" and "The King's Speech" Alan Rickman - He's just genius! But his role as Marvin in "Hitchhiker's" is my absolute favorite Rupert Grint - He is superb in both "Driving Lessons" and "Cherry Bomb" Miriam Margoyles - She plays the nanny so perfectly and amazingly in "Romeo + Juliet" Pam Ferris - I adore her in "Little Dorrit" Julie Walters - Everything she does is great! Personal favorite: "Billy Elliot"
And my absolute favorite: Tom Felton in "The Borrowers"

There are so many that I love - Harry Potter has had an AMAZING cast throughout all the films, and I could go on forever listing the merits of them, but I think my absolute favourite has to be Imelda Staunton as Vera Drake, an abolutely phenomenal film, and her protrayal of the character is so moving, I was touched form beginning to end. Incredible.

I've actually seen quite a few films with some of the Potter cast in them but here's what I think is the best of the best:
Alan Rickman in Sense and Sensibility! He is simply amazing. I think Alan Rickman is brilliant in everything he does, like Sweeney Todd and Die Hard, but Sense and Sensibility is still the best film that I've seen from him. He's just so... perfect. I do recommend the film if you haven't seen it. |

Helena Bonham Carter was also in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the one with Johnny Depp) She played Charlie's mom, and I thought she was good there! And the Red Queen in Alice and Wonderland was brilliant! Also, don't forget Alan Rickman as the caterpillar in the same movie! Jason Isaacs in The Patriot was great! Maggie Smith in Sister act was also pretty good!
