Hogwarts RPG Name: Kiera Aurélie Everard Fourth Year | Michael Gambon is an awful Dumbledore, in no means did he follow the path of Richard Harris. The accent he decided to put on, his harshness, just too over-the-top & no where near staying true to the part. I'm not saying that he's a bad actor, in other movies he might play the part quite well, but in Harry Potter, as Dumbledore, worst performance. |

Violet Slivermoon Magical Creatures | I don't like Michael Gambon. Even though he is a great actor, he's just too aggressive to be Dumbledore. I liked Richard Harris. Plus (and I know this isn't Michael's fault but it stills bothers me) they sort of made his hair and beard more grayish-blond than white. |

| I must admit that I really loathe Emma Watson as Hermione. But it's not her fault, I don't think. I think it comes down to poor direction and directors not understanding Hermione as a character. Emma is a great actress but definitely not my Hermione. |

| I agree with Clemence Poesy not being right for Fleur -- pretty, but not mesmerizingly gorgeous, like Fleur is supposed to be. And she seemed to be mainly for looks; she didn't really act.
And although Kenneth Branagh is a fabulous actor, he just didn't fit my mental picture of Lockhart. I picture Lockhart as having a feminine sort of beauty, and Branagh just doesn't have that. But then, I can't think of anyone who does, except maybe Orlando Bloom, who is too young. |

| #1 The new Slughorn, where's the short, fat guy with a mustache?
#2 Dumbledore, already said 100 times.
#3 Emma Watson is too pretty, i don't think the acting is bad, but they went for looks, not Hermione
#4 I totally disagree with the above poster on Lupin, i think he fit perfect.
#5 Fleur was not what i expected, at all. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Mark Aysi Fifth | the ones i dont like are:
-Rupert Grint- he doesnt have the ron persona
-both dumbledores- the first was too old and fragile and the second is too angry and fierce. Dumbledore is suppose to be walking around hogwarts wistling and then being able to fight an epic battle when need be. those actors are just either too whimsical or too fierce.
-Fleur- too ditsy
-Lupin- not enough energy
-Madame Maxime- too nice |

Lillian Jones Department of Mysteries | I dislike the way Gambon plays Dumbledore, as odd as it sounds, he is just too LOUD all of the time, and the accent bugs me.
Otherwise, I think the casting has been great, but my biggest problem is with the way some people are written. Lupin, for example was this simpering little man, V-Diddy, -not- scary, at all, Dan tends to come across as very wooden a lot of the time and quite a few of the minor characters just seem very unnatural, a bit like square pegs in round holes. |

Catherine Chloe Wormwood Magical Games & Sports | I find it hard to see the Ginny from the books in Bonnie Wright. Ginny is supposed to be a lot prettier than Hermione and Luna. And while Bonnie does look good, she doesn't look better than Emma or Evanna.
(hmm.. or maybe Evanna is too pretty. But yet I find her a much more convincing Luna than Bonnie a convincing Ginny.)
And I expected Bellatrix to have thick, shiny black hair, not that frizzy fluff! |

| i just hate how all of the actors are so pretty
in the book they aren't that pretty. they are just normal people, but of course in movies everyone has to be pretty!
i wish they would have picked people that were... uglier i guess

I don't think that it is anything Alan could change, the way he plays his characters makes them believable and very likeable. Hans Gruber, anyone? I think the reason he is too comical is because in the books a lot of his statements are "dripping with sarcasm", and Alan seems to say many of his lines in that manner. Just a thought! |

At first I thought she was okay (first movie, maybe the second), but as the movies continue she is so girly-girly I can't stand it anymore. Her attitude needs an adjustment too. But that's the fault of the directors I think.
I really don't like Michael Gambon either. He just bugs me. And he isn't at all how I envisioned Dumbledore.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Clement Lange First Year | Until OotP, I thought Daniel Radcliffe was the worst, but there's no way I'm going to diss his acting skills after that preformance.
Now, I suppose, I would have to go with Emma Thompson... she's not portraying Trelawny at all like the novel's character. Good acting with the way she's taking it, I just don't like the character direction. Sorry Emma T.! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Professor Zaria Dainsie | I have to completely disagree with you on both parts. I thought Daniel did an exceptional and grown up job in OotP. The scene when Sirius dies? Man. Played it awesomely. I also think that Emma gets Trelawney down well. She plays the character true to the books, but she can only do what the writers script for her. I believe she has the essence of the character down though.
I don't like Emma's acting. Everything she says (the way she delivers her lines) sounds so scripted, forced and over the top. They don't sound natural at all. And there's times I like Gambon as Dumbledore, and other times I don't. Richard Harris was brilliant for the first 2 movies, but I think if he had continued he wouldn't have been able to pull off Dumbledore in action either. A balance between the 2 portrayals would be right on. |

I could never say he sucks at HP hes great and who ever thinks Bonnie isn't a good Ginny I think she is. I'm excited to see her in HBP.
As for who I think is not good
Lockhart I didn't like him and mrs. figg. Other than that i think they got the right people to play the parts and couldn't ask for better people. |

| I actually really like Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. I dunno... he just kinda seems more Dumbledore-ish than Richard Harris, who seemed too serious and fragile.
I don't think Petunia Dursley was cast well. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sela Madson First Year | Daniel is sort of iffy for me - he's definitely not the best actor in the world, but I couldn't picture anyone else as Harry. He does seem really different from the book Harry, but that's the screenwriters fault, not his.
Of course, I'm sure they could have found a better Dumbledore, and maybe a different James.
And Dudley really annoyed me in OotP, but he was fine before that.
Emma is fine except for her hair, which should be longer, darker, and bigger. |

| I would have to agree that Michael Gambon is just too agresive... I mean, JK discribes Dumbledore as a calm person, "With eyes that seem to X-ray you" and Richard Harris had that, but also was too old looking... Michael Gambon is too Gandalf like... I guess if Gambon would adopt the personality Harris gave to the character it would be better... the one scene that I think has been closer is the speech he gives in PoA with the "Happiness can be found in..." etc. Other than that it's just too agresive |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Rachel Danielle Rider Second Year | I hate the way Michael Gambon does Dumbledore,
I think they should have chosen someone uglier to play Viktor Krum,
They should make Hermione act like Hermione. I like Emma, but her text is very bad, and so is her wardrobe styler and hairdresser.
I love Bonnie, but they should make the hair more like the flaming red it is in the book.
I cannot stand Mrs. Figg, Dudley, Harry's parents, and all the people in 'Snape's Worst Memory' |
