Grace Oliver Diagon Alley | I think as far as the overall movies go, Chris is my fav, then Mike, with Alfonso as the least. I just wasn't captured by PoA, it felt pretty removed from the book to me.
However, I do think that the last 2 directors got more out of the trio as actors. This maybe due to their age, but they put more emotion into their characters in the last 2 films. |

Like somebody had said earlier, he was the one who set the theme. He was the one who first obtained all of the amazing actors that fit their parts perfectly. Did you see how much better the first Dumbledore was before he died?! It just seemed to me he was most loyal to the books and the characters more than the other two directors. I think next in line for who I think is best would be Alfonso. Although he did leave some things out, the movie flowed and all fit together. I know that Mike had the biggest book to cover, and he didn't do a BAD job, but I just didn't like it at all. Well, actually I kind of hated it, but that's besides the point. The movie did not flow at all. My friends who had not read the books were confused the whole time, constantly asking me what was happening. And also, (as you can see, I have a problem with this new Dumbledore) I don't know what Mike was thinking, but every scene with Dumbledore was so OoC! Did anyone else notice that?! |

now, see, GoF is like incompletely complete.
the essence of the book is there.
next is Chris.
He did a good job as well but comparing the books, the SS and CoS book was thin compared to GoF. I mean, he doesnt have a choice but to put everything in the movie though he did cut some things, those things are very tiny infos. so tiny that one wouldnt even notice that it was missing in the film. Alfonso.
what has he done to PoA..
there's very little in the movie!
though, I must admit, the added R/Hr moments was really brilliant!
I dont hate any of the directors.
in rating, I like Mike the best then Chris then Alfonso.
they're 3 different directors. they have their own directing styles. |
i agree with you compleatly 100%!!! mike is my fave, then chris, then alfonso. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Kit Ryan Seventh | Alfonso Cuaron by far... he adapted the book to the movie in the best way. Even JK Rowling has said that it's her favorite movie. |

Elizabeth Laurent Diagon Alley | Chris is by far my favorite. Perhaps it's because of the way he envisioned the world of Harry Potter and brought it to us for the very first time. Watching the first Harry Potter movie was like stepping out of the book and straight into the world of Harry Potter, just as I had imagined it. I think he was the one director that truly tried to stay as close to the book as possible, and this is just another reason I really appreciate Chris Columbus. |

| I think its definetely chris, becuase he was the one who started the whole thing and the movies were excellent.
Mike was okay, but he had a much harder book so it wsa probably a lot harder for him.
I cant honestly say that i like Alfonso at at....the movie was good, but, i dont know. it was a different style and i didnt like it all that much. Quote: |

| I dont like the new Dumbledore at all. the first one was PERFECT, i mean, it was like he WAS Dumbledore, but the new one kinda just makes it a bit akward. it was a bit ooc, but i guess if he was the best they had at the time...

Hogwarts RPG Name: Seraphina Mercury Fifth Year | Chris Columbus, no contest. I don't understand why he's labelled a kiddy director. He directed Rent and that's not exactly rainbows and sunshine, now is it? |

Ian Michael Ashby Magical Games & Sports | Like most of you have said, Colombus did a good job with starting out the franchise and sticking to the books, but like one person said, he didn't put enough emotion into it. I felt as though, when I went to see the movie, it was more of a "Here is the exact representation of the first and second movie minus all the emotion. Have fun with that. >.>"
The third movie, by far, was my favorite. At the time I was a little nervous about having a new director, but he definately did my favorite book justice. The characters seemed so much more real and accessable. Also, he stuck to the plot the best out of the non-Colombus directors. IMO, Newell changed way too much canon and left too much out. He skipped over a lot of stuff. Was anyone else a little angry that the maze scene lasted, like, 3 seconds? All they put in was Krum and meeting up with Cedric. I happened to like the blast-ended skrewt, acromantula, sphinx, and anything else I may be missing. And what was with that random wind thing in the maze?
And if I may, I would like to bring David Yates into this. Does anyone agree with me that this has been the worst movie so far? Best cinematography, but WORST overall. He changed so much canon. I cried, it was so bad.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Luke Winters Sixth Year | I disagree with most of you. I thought PoA was a really good movie. I felt that it captured the book well, my favorite HP film probably. So I'd have to say Alfonso, then the guy who made movie four and then the guy who made movie five. David Yates I think...but I'm not sure. |
