Magical Security Desk

The Magical Security Desk, where visitors to the Ministry check-in. The desk is made of dark, shiny wood. A complex device is placed on top of it. It is used for weighing wands. Beside the device is a small machine that prints out wand reciepts.

Only members of the Magical Security Office are allowed behind the desk. Guests to the Ministry of Magic, please step up and state your reason for visiting.

OOC: Do not Role-Play for a worker at the Security Desk. We will respond to your character and help them with their check-in, but it may take a little time. Please be patient.

[Edward Penguin]

Edward assumes his post and settles in. His job was one he enjoyed, mostly. It was a bit tedious at times, but he enjoyed being able to meet new people and check out all the differenct species that came through here regularly.

Setting his teacup in front of him, he takes out his wand and nonchalantly stirs in some honey and lemon. He wondered if any of the ministry employees would stop by to say hello today.

Dan walked toward the security desk and said "Good morning Edward how are you today?"

Edward saw Dan walking by, trying to scare the new employees as he did. "Morning Dan, I'm good. And You?"

As Dan passed, he remarked, "Try not to scare too many of them, would you? The ministry has enough trouble keeping the young ones around."

"Ok I won`t" said Dan chuckling "I don`t know why they get so scared my son`s only 11 and he dosn`t mind. I`m fine how`s buisness for you lately "

[Edward Penguin]

Edward shrugged. "I don't either, but I know that you do startle them. And in order to keep employees, we need not run around as a lion, or anything else which might eat them." Edward chuckled as he imagined the new employees running for cover.


(After many hours of checking wands)

Edward stood, prepared to complete his shift at the desk. He had a pretty good day and was ready to go to his flat and play a little football on his Wii. It was an amusing distraction since he had no plans with his mates.

Putting his wand away, he packed his things and got ready to head home.

Wyatt appeared by Floo powder to the Ministry Atrium so he can do his job. Once Wyatt had arrived at the Ministry he went and past Edward and told "Hello Edward. Ready to already?" Wyatt went and put his things in the break room. When he returned from the break room he went and took his normal seat behind the desk.

Miley walked over to the desk and checked in."Hey Wyatt,long time no see,"Miley said.She put on her black jacket and clipped on her name tag.

When Brian approached the Security Desk, there was no Edward. He might be depart already or had gone somewhere else. He decided to wait for sometime. He leaned against the desk, looking at the ongoers, regretting for not taking any books with him to read.

Edward joined the queue and prepared to take on another day. As he approached the Security desk he waved to Wyatt and saw Brian, a new guy he had spent some time around.

"What's going on, Brian?" He looked as if he had been hanging around for a while. "Been around long?"

Brian turned to the familiar voice of Edward.
"Oh..not at all, just a few minutes.." he smiled and pulled him closer and whispered, "Looks like you have so many fangals here" he winked without others know.

Edward grinned. "I don't think they are my fangals. They must be here for Wyatt. I've had almost no visitors since I got here." He reached out and shook Brian's hand.

"What's up for this weekend? Shall we head to the Pub for some more darts?"

"Okay then" he shrugged. "I thought they were waiting for you" he chuckled as shook his hand warmly.
"Yeah, sure, It has been a long time since we went together last time" he nodded, "but what about a coffee now?"

He agreed with Brian. "Sure. I've got a few minutes to spare. How about we go to the security breakroom? Probably no one in there."

He laughed.."sure you can by all of your charm.." winked playfully and put his arm around his shoulder as they walked towards the break room.
"So, is there anything interesting??" his luxurious shoes making a pleasant sound when he was walking.

Edward was smiling. "I believe you are thinking of your own charm. Mine is not as enticing to the ladies."

As they walked like brothers to the breakroom, Edward looked down at Brian's shoes. "It must be nice working in the minister's office. Much more exciting than being a wand weigher."

"Hahaha..No Edward, You're bit younger than me, so naturally you'll be the most wanted list.." he lightly patted on his shoulder, but apparantly he looked smart in his robes with his awesome features.

He nodded again, "may be, but it's a demanding Job, Edward. I can hardly get the free time.."

A small, wrinkled-looking memo flitted into the room before it began dancing around the heads of the security desk's inhabitants.

Wyatt came out of the meeting room and sat in his regular seat looking out in the Atrium.

As Emma waited in the queue for her turn, she gazed around, taking in all that was around and about. She smiled as she saw a rotund witch, running after her small son, who obviously had other ideas about what he wanted to do at the Ministry. His mother bellowed for him to stop, but he kept on running toward the large fountain that dominated the Atrium. Poor witch, didn't have a chance to catch him before he skidded and dropped inside the shallow bassin.

Emma laughed quietly as she turned her head to see if the queue had moved any. Luckily it had and she presented her wand to the watchwizard that was there. He informed her that she didn't need to present her wand since she now worked for the Ministry. She thanked the young man for his information and walked on toward the lifts.

Edward spied some people waiting to be served he walked up and allowed himself to get settled before he looked at the first and asked, "May I help you?"

Emma eyed the young mand and presented her wand as she had done many years ago. And then she took out the letter from her new boss from the International magical cooperation department. Showing it to the watchwizard, she smiled and asked:

'I'm supposed to show up for my first day of work and I wasn't too sure if i had to show my wand first. I know that visitors usually do so, but does a new employee have to do so upon arriving?" She asked with a lift of her brow. She didn't want to break any rules on her very first day...

(occ... sorry about that, there was a discussion/meeting going on and wasn't sure if anyone would 'leave' the meeting. )

Edward smiled as the witch presented her wand along with a letter announcing her employment.

"It's fine. Today we need to check it, to ensure that there is nothing odd about it and then after this, you are free to pass the desk. We do of course have random wand inspections, but those are rare."

He inspected the wand and satisfied that there was nothing to worry about, he presented the wand back to her and said, "Thank you. I hope that you enjoy your time with the ministry."
