Diagon Alley runs along a crooked, narrow street. Along the North End, of course, are the shopfronts. Large glass windows display hot items, special objects, advertise for sales, and encourage people to come in. The path is incredibly tight and overhangs of buildings on either side threaten to touch the building across from it. People walk packed together, as they try to maneuver around groups of people, vending carts, and holes in the cobble road. Be careful of doors opening so that you don’t walk into them by accident.

Outside the Leaky Cauldron entrance is a large, outlandish fountain which threatens to take up the walk. Once one gets around the fountain, the path tightens and the surge of people begins. Bump, jostle, and nudge people as you move around – it’s okay, really. Balconies and overhangs create a bright array of color as one meanders down the street. The noise level is cluttered – yelling comes from the hawkers, from the food vendors, from people calling to one and other. Much like a festival, the atmosphere is nearly tangible; electric and festive. Don’t forget to close your eyes and breathe in. Popcorn, kebabs, soup, bread; so many food smells fill the air with a pungent scent.

Biting down on another Ice Mouse (and almost immediately regretting it, as the coldness of it grated on his teeth), Raiden walked quietly, alone, down the street, staying carefully away from the doors so he wouldn't get hit as people exited and entered shops. The tall young man easily slid through the crowd; he was tall enough now that people were careful to not step on him. Useful, that.

There were still a few things on his shopping list for school; not important things, but things. Nothing that would take him all day to gather, so he'd decided to wander around, people-watching, for a while. It was fun.

"Heh, tha' ol' bloke," he spoke to himself as he tossed the golden pocket watch. "Blind, 'e was. Ha! Them boys back in juvvie woul' be hollerin' if they knew I 'ad nicked this."

Yes, this was one of his greatest achievements so far. Willie didn't really know if this was actually gold or not. The guy he had taken the watch from looked rich, though. He wore a very fine suit, round classes, a top hat and... Well, he just looked rich to Willie. So, the young thief took his time deciding what to take. Eventually, he chose to steal the pocket watch, which he did. And what a thrill it was.

Now if only Willie can find Cyrus to show this to him. He bet the younger boy would smack him on his back and congratulate him on his accomplishment. If only his mother would be this proud. Willie grinned. His mother didn't even know he was a thief. He'd actually lied to her and told her that the juvvie was a better school that Hogwarts. The only person that knew he was a thief was his brother Garret. Speaking of his brother, he hadn't seen him in a while. He shrugged.

Pocketing the watch, he fixed his gatsby, pulled up his trousers, placed his thumbs underneath his suspenders and then spat on the side of the road. What a glorious day it was.

"I'm Carin Hughes, by the way," she introduced herself, trying hard not to make her name sound as if it made her superior to others. She had learned the hard way that that was not the best way to make friends, but she wasn't entirely sure whether she had the I'm-friendly-and-nice-and-polite-why-don't-we-talk tone and vibe down pat yet. Probably not.

Swallowing down the last bit of the minty mouse in his mouth, Raiden automatically pulled another from the box, ignoring the slight coldness in his mouth. He bit the tail off this time, pressing it against the top of his mouth with his tongue as he stepped around a rather large woman who was talking very loudly.

His shoulder bounced off of another guy's as he avoided the woman, and the rest of the ice mouse hit the dirt as he dropped it.

"Ah. Sorry, man." He would have just kept walking, but he paused to look at the guy's face, and stopped. "Oh. Hi."

The guy from the other day. The hobo.

Raiden almost, almost missed the rudeness. Because when the guy got to talking, he sounded REALLY familiar.

"Er... sorry." He bit his lip, head tilting slightly as he considered the guy before him. "You're... do I know you?"

He kinda... reminded him of someone. But surely it wasn't, right? He hadn't seen him in years.

"I'm Raiden Kururugi... Sorry for the other day. Calling you a hobo and... all that."

The entire situation hadn't been awesome, and had left him in a kinda bad mood. Hmph.

He lifted his hand, extended his finger and poked the boy in the nose while he tilted his head. "Kuru...rugi?" Willie murmured mostly to himself, tilting his head to the other side now. "Raid...Raiden... That name ye go' there... Familiah,it is."

He poked him again, on his forehead.

"Me name's Crockah. Willie Crockah."

Once Raiden asked about his brother, Willie slightly tensed. "Why dontcha ask 'em? I ain't seen 'em in three years." Which was a lie, of course. He'd seen him, once or twice. They hadn't talked much. Nope.

It then hit him.

"Waaait.... Yer Raiden. Raiden, Raiden, yeah?!" He grinned. Now he remembered Raiden. Wow, had he changed or what? "Come 'eeeere!" He dragged him into a big brotherly hug, almost suffocating him. " 'Ow you've been, eh?"

He would have said something then, but when Willie grinned and seemed to be hit with recognition... Merlin, finally. Finally! He remembered him.

"Ohhhh woah." Being squisheddddd. Raiden had been a bit... hesitant about being grabbed. Letting out a small laugh, which may have been a little uncomfortable, he hugged Willie back. "Haha. I've been alright. Just... school and stuff, you know. Where have you been? It's been like... forever."

The biggest memory he had of Willie was when they'd met in Diagon Alley, and Willie had been convinced that Raiden was dying. That had also been the first time he'd met Truebridge... Wow. That really had been forever ago.

Sofia walked by a girl that looked close to her age. Sofia was new to hogwarts. She was going to be a third year.

It's hardly ever easy to be the new kid. Athena knew it quite well. Still, she had great hopes about Hogwarts.
It is Selena's fault, she concluded. Her highly-smart brunette beauty cousin (yes, she is a Ravenclaw for some reason) had told her great wonders about Hogwarts and now there she was, anxiously awaiting the day she could also call herself an Hogwarts student.
A little hesitant, the twelve year old girl wondered by Diagon Alley, further away than she looked. Her mind, her thoughts and her heart were jsut a bit too far.

When Willie let him go, Raiden straightened out his shirt automatically, his gaze switching to look around them to see if anyone else he knew had managed to wander up on him.

"Ju... Juvvie? Really?" So Willie's kleptomania had gotten him in a lot of trouble. Raiden couldn't say he was surprised... but it was kinda sad. Wasted time, unless it had really helped him. He said it had, so... maybe it was a good thing.

Hopefully it was a good thing.

"Well either way I'm glad you're coming back... it's my last year this term but it'll be good to have friends around, you know?"

Well. What had he been up to? Raiden bit the inside of his cheek and thought. How did he go about this.

"Uhm... well nothing much, really. Been going to school which... was a bad idea, fifth year. It wasn't that great. 'm a prefect at school... But other than that, I've just been hanging out with friends... and Emmalee."

Emmalee didn't get classified under 'friends'.

Then he said ministry.

Gareth was walking down the street. Not paying attention to where he was going because his hands where too busy managing a bunch of papers that were his "to buy list". But it would seem that he would never find the shop that he was looking for, somehow it would always be on another end of the street.

Grumbling and cursing to himself Gareth finally found his bearing and made his way to pick up some potion supplies. He was going over the list when all of the sudden, he bumped into someone and had to fumble around so he wouldn't drop the papers.

"Ugh! Bloody hell mate, how about a heads up?" Gareth said, before he even turned to look at who he bumped into. When he did, he was caught by surprise. It was his hold juvvie buddy Willie!

"Willie! Fancy running into you here! What have you been up to mate?"

"It's a-" oof, elbow nudging to the ribs- "-strange... situation. It's okay like that though." It was comfortable. Which was all that mattered to them, so whatever.

"You're likely to find hairy, unpleasant guys at Hogwarts, too. Seems like there's more and more of them every term." He held back a sigh. "Lots of other people though, that are really nice."

When Willie started like... congratulating him, he felt his face go up another shade. What was Willie implying here?! Didn't think he had... whaaaat? What? Just what?

"She's only a year older than I," he murmured uneasily, shrugging. "She's working so she can get her own place, and move out of her aunt's."

Raiden paused, tilting his head and staring at the guy who had just bumped into Willie. For a moment, he wondered at the lack of manners in the world, as the guy had kinda snapped at Willie for it. But then... apparently they knew each other?

So Raiden didn't say anything about the snappish tone. Even though... well even if he did know him, it was rude. Ruuuuuuudeeeeee.
