Diagon Alley runs along a crooked, narrow street. Along the North End, of course, are the shopfronts. Large glass windows display hot items, special objects, advertise for sales, and encourage people to come in. The path is incredibly tight and overhangs of buildings on either side threaten to touch the building across from it. People walk packed together, as they try to maneuver around groups of people, vending carts, and holes in the cobble road. Be careful of doors opening so that you don’t walk into them by accident.

Outside the Leaky Cauldron entrance is a large, outlandish fountain which threatens to take up the walk. Once one gets around the fountain, the path tightens and the surge of people begins. Bump, jostle, and nudge people as you move around – it’s okay, really. Balconies and overhangs create a bright array of color as one meanders down the street. The noise level is cluttered – yelling comes from the hawkers, from the food vendors, from people calling to one and other. Much like a festival, the atmosphere is nearly tangible; electric and festive. Don’t forget to close your eyes and breathe in. Popcorn, kebabs, soup, bread; so many food smells fill the air with a pungent scent.

Jacob walked quickly out and into shops. He finally stopped with only one bag. It was amazing how much shopping he could do without buying anything at all. Jacob took the bag towards an empty patch of wall and leaned his body against it. Looking down at his watch he saw that he was running late... So much to do and he was already behind.Setting down the bag, he took out a peice of parchment.

At least Patroclus wasn't there yets. Jacob then noticed that he was missing something... Where in the world could his Grandfather have gone? Oh well, he's a grown man, he could take care of himself. And really Jacob wasn't worried about himself either. He took out another folded peice of parchment, and waited for Patroclus to meet him.

Deep breath in, long breath out.

Alex stepped out into Diagon Alley. So this is the famous Diagon Alley, huh? He looked around. It was old and... Blech. And so small. Merlin Avenue in New York is SO much bigger. He took a few steps and looked around some more. The boy was not impressed. He sighed. He wanted to be back in New York. Why did his parents send him out here? And then he saw it.

British girls.

Benjamin adjusted his fedora and suit as he stepped into Diagon Alley. He studied Alex as he saw that Alex wasn't impressed. Benjamin wasn't either when he came out to Diagon Alley for the first time. He remembered hating it because it was nothing like Merlin Avenue. But after a moment, Benjamin approached Alex.

"I have to patrol Diagon Alley. You have three hours. Meet me right back here in front of the Leaky Cauldron so I can take you home, okay?" He waited a moment. "Don't get into any trouble..." He stopped and gave the boy a reassuring smile, "Oh, and try and meet some people. Have fun." Benjamin started his patrol.

Three hours, meet people, have fun, don't do stupid crap. Got it. The Young New Yorker watched as Benjamin walked away. The boy looked down Diagon Alley again and started walking, hoping to find people to talk to around his age.

Hailey put her sunglasses on as she headed into Diagon Alley, so this was what her parents were talking about for as long as she could remember. Well it was definitely more chaotic than she expected, the market back in Ottawa was never this crazy even though the city was the capital of Canada. At least she wasn't here by herself since she most likely would have gotten lost in the large crowd of people that were trying to get their shopping done.

Hmm I wonder if I should really get my list out to look at what I need to buy, I could just wander around for a bit and eventually meet some students that go to Hogwarts.

She continued down the small road as she pondered what exactly to do, figuring out that it was actually best to just get out of the way; Hailey moved into a small passageway and watched as the people passed by.

Despite all the exercises he'd been put through over the past year Lukas was buffeted about like a leaf in high wind. HE was eventually pushed off the main alley into a smaller side passage between two of the narrow buildings. His momentum carried him straight into the only other person around, a girl a little older than he was.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry!" he apologised profusely, blushing furiously. He stepped back, off of her feet and looked down at his own, afraid to see her anger.

While trying to figure out what to buy first, Hailey felt someone run into her; if this was hockey then she would have easily checked them into the boards but since this was outside of her normal realm, she decided to just be all calm and collected.

"Hey, it's alright. Pretty crazy here eh." she said with her Canadian accent, trying not to make this kid feel scared of her; that was the last thing she needed now. At least people around here seemed to have proper manners which is one less thing for me to worry about.

Why the heck was he running? To something? From something? People were weird in England. Then, he saw him running towards a girl... Oooooooh this is not going to end well...

Wham! Right into the girl. He knew it... Alex hurried over to make sure the girl was okay.

Hailey looked at the boy who had rushed over to see if she was okay, she wasn't one of those girls that needed to be rescued by a guy; she was an independant girl despite the fact that she was only 13. "Yeah I'm alright, thanks." she said in her Canadian accent which was quite interesting to say the least.

"I'm Lukas," he said and then added, "Ferdinand." he wasn't used to using last names in introductions so he only included it to be fair,: she'd told him hers so he should reply in kind. "I'm starting second year but I'm nearly thirteen. Two months." he supplied. So, she wasn't quite as old as he'd thought. This puberty thing made it difficult to tell sometimes since it didn't seem to fall neatly into the same time period for everyone.

"I'm from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Me and my brothers just transferred from a school back home so this is all new to me." she said, brushing her brown hair back behind her shoulder. "Nice to meet you Lukas, so have you been to Hogwarts before?" If he already went to the school, it would be a big plus since she'd at least know a student there.

It was busy, to say the least. Tyler lowered his list of supplies and scanned the crowd. There were many places to visit, but first he had to find Hailey. He had been engrossed in a window display at Quality Quidditch and when he finally managed to pull his eyes away from the broom, he discovered that Hailey had disappeared. No doubt she was exploring on her own, but just to be sure...

He began walking slowly through the crowd, keeping close to the edge of the wall. It wasn't long before he heard the lilting tones of his sister's voice. Stopping at the end of a small passageway, he looked down it to see Hailey speaking with two boys. He slowly strolled in their direction.

"Hey Hailey."

Another strange accent came from behind him and he turned to see another boy approaching them. His admonishment stung and Lukas dropped his head, ashamed. He bit his lip and edged away from the boy, not that there was much space to edge: there was barely room for two people to stand side by side in here. "Sorry," he said again, mournfully.

And then another boy joined them. It was getting awfully crowded here. This boy seemed to know Hailey. And then she mentioned her parents as if they belonged to him too. He must be one of her brothers. Fantastic. He should probably leave now before the other two decided to turn on him. He began to shuffle back towards the crowded main alley.

"You could have just mentioned that you were getting bored and wanted to leave." He pointed out matter of factly. "Very good, and I did make good on that promise. You were the one who walked off." He was teasing her, and she knew it. It was just amusing to attempt to get under her skin.

"Yeah but the only thing is.. where's Jaxon? And I don't need to explain myself any further to you." Oh he did a good job at making sure everyone was together, he managed to lose their other brother somewhere in the huge crowd.

Tyler frowned slightly at that jibe. "Not my problem; and it's not just regular television; just when hockey is on." He defended himself. Oh...well he couldn't defend himself against that. "I thought he was with you." He admitted. Great, now his other brother was somewhere in that sweeping crowd.

"Guess we should go look for him."

Hailey sighed when Tyler mentioned he thought that Jaxon was with her. No way was that boy going to be around her in Diagon Alley since he drove her crazy enough at home. "The last time I saw him, he seemed to be heading off towards Gringotts but merlin only knows where he is now." She didn't want to bother looking for him but she knew her parents wouldn't be happy if she had to write home and tell them that Jaxon was missing.

"Guess we should and this time we're going to stick together, I'd rather not get lost around here."

There was all cobbles everywhere. And all the shops looked, old. Reaally old. This was nothing likek she'd expected it to be. She expected it to be like NY or something. She liked shopping there. So what on earth was she supposed to do. She had like half a day to shop. Which usually she'd be thrilled with but shopping for school stuff not so much. She didn't know why James couldn't just come buy it all for her, he was her older brother wasn't that what older brothers were for. But anyway she'd been prepared and made a list of what she needed. Robes and all stuff like that. Perfume, perfume, more perfume and shampoo and conditioner, And maybe a boyfriend but yeah she could get a boyfriend anytime.

She was too busy re-reading her list to notice anyone walking infront of her. Before she knew it she'd walked into some boy who looked abit older than her. "Watch where you're going yeah ?" she said rolling her eyes, people really needed to watch where they were going.

Iris walked down the street on her own. She was so completely bored out of her mind, and Summer had only just begun. 6 long lovely weeks of boredom. And several parties, but those all together only add up to about a day's worth of fun. She watched people walk by, Hogwarts kids, people who'd just left and a whole bunch of middle aged women.

Ew. I'm never going to let myself go like that. She could pass for a hag.

Then a vaguely familiar fedora caught her eye. She KNEW that hat from somewhere! It was Aaron's uncle! But the guy with him ... wasn't Aaron. Frowning as she watched them, Iris kicked a pebble on the ground. When Aaron's uncle walked away from this guy, Iris watched as slowly, the street seemed to resemble one of those muggle Dodgems rides than a street.

Iris considered going over there... but it seemed like he had enough attention as it was. She sat down on the ~~convieniently placed~~ bench that was near her, and figured that she'd just go and introduce herself when there were ... well... less people.

Daisy walked down the street and was stunned into silence. This was her very first time being here and it was amazig. She looked at the list she held in he hand and didn't know where to go first. She continued walking and marvling at everything in complete silence.

Face still dripping wet from his encounter with the awesome fountain, Joshua hurriedly made his way down the narrow, busy street. RESULT. There was no way his Mum would find him HERE!
