What do you think happened. We got snippets of what happened, but we didn't get to see what really went on.

Was Neville in charge of the resistance? Did his wand work improve. Was he holding down the fort waiting for Harry to come save the day or was he just doing his part to keep Hogwarts from falling into the clutches of the Death Eaters?

Heh, On a different site I wrote fan-fic about Neville's 7th year.

I think he would have tried to start up the DA, and encouraging the students by promising Harry's return. I think many would be scared to disobey the carrows, so Neville had to say something to keep their spirits up. After the way he was praised in DH (like Seamus saying "Neville's the man" and such) I think the others would have respected him and looked to him as a leader.

I really think Neville came into his own in his 7th year. I think he was able to really show what he was made of without being in Harry's shadow. In the other books it was like people were simply reacting to the things Harry did or didn't do and we never got to see what they would do if they were left up to their own devices.

Without Harry at Hogwarts Neville got to make the choice to stand up to the Carrows and stand up for what was right.

And I see Neville making as much trouble for the DEs as he could. I mean they tried to get him to behave by threatening his Grandmother and she stood up to them. I think she would have been so proud of him at that point.

I think Neville roused the troops at Hogwarts because I know many of them were dismayed to see that the trio wasn't there and they had just come off the death of Dumbledore and I think Neville took up the mantle. Him and his grandmother never believed any of the garbage the Prophet wrote about either of them.

This was Neville's shining moment and I think he did an brilliant job!

I think Neville, being a faithful DA member, did as much as he could to prevent Death Eaters taking over Hogwarts. Him and Luna and Ginny were the ones that rose everyone's spirits, they set the example of fighting back against the Death Eaters and Neville was truly the one everyone looked up to for guidance. He has lost alot to Voldemort and his supporters, so he knew what it would be like if they took over. So, he's the one that truly kept Hogwarts and it's students safe from the enemy. He gave them courage to fight back and not to give in.

He was brilliant and brave in his seventh year, he was an authority figure for all those that rebelled. Hats off to Neville!

I totally agree with you there on that one. He gave everyone else hope and the courage to start fighting back. Thats a bully's biggest advantage, people who won't fight back. Bullies don't pick on the strong, they pick on the weak and the scared. And Neville stopped being scared and afraid and started fighting back and he inspired the other students to do that same.

I think Neville took over where Harry had started. He seemed to remain optimistic when everyone else seemed to be losing hope. This is what makes him one of my favorite characters. I think he kind of grouped everyone against the evil that was the DEs.
