I thought it would be interesting to see what you guys think about Neville's home life. What does he do at home during the school vacations? Is he out in his own personal garden, or constantly chasing after Trevor? Do he and his Gran live in a manson or a small cozy house in the country? Is she a caring grandmother or does she constantly whisper snide hints to friends and family about how he isn't as good as his father?

Fire away! (I must say I am very interested to see what you guys come up with)

OH I know he has an AWESOME Garden at home.
This is slightly off-topic but not all the way so here goes. In my neighbourhood when Newm and I are walking around we like to pick houses for different HP characters to live in(there is a really nice one that we call the Malfoy Manor and one that is the Lovegood etc..) And there is one that has a REALLLY REALLLY nice front garden with all these cool plants in it and so we called it the Longbottoms because Im sure that once Neville learned he was good at Herbology he must have totally redone their gardens.

I think recently gran might have let up on the you are as good as your father stuff because he is getting better, ya know? She is sure to be really caring though because if she wasnt then she wouldnt send him remebralls and stuff... and she wouldnt deal with him.

I say they live in a Nice house in the country.. I just dont see neville coming from a mansion...

Really? I see Neville as coming from a small mansion, one that has been in the family for a few generations. Not a mansion on a grand scale, but a nice big house nonetheless.

Jades has a nice theory there! He probably does have a garden with tons of plants!

Hmmm...Maybe he just goes back to his old house that he shared with his gran on the holidays. He might be too used to it to go somewhere else.

Neville would totally live in the country and have a huge garden. His house wouldn't be huge, just a quaint little house Cottage like maybe? You realize that he would be at Hogwarts most of time...?

I agree, he probably has a very nice little cottage, serrounded by garden, garden and more garden. Treeeees, flowers, bushes, magical plants and muggle plants alike. and I wouldn't doubt the idea of him even having a little pond in his backyard somewere, for Trever to play in .

A pond for Trevor to play in...that's adorable Grace! I'm kind of picturing Uncle Monty's house from A Series of Unfortunate Events, the movie, for those who are fans of that I think that would be a good place for him to live only with less snakes!

We know where Neville really lives annnd I don't think theres a garden, or pond there.

Hmm....I know! Neville bought a portable swamp for Trevor from George And they must have a garden somewhere...I don't think he'd be able to live somewhere that doesn't have one!

I always pictured Gran's house as a small cottage somewhere, and as Neville grew up he would garden during the summer.

I think that the Longbottoms are a respected old wizarding family. They aren't filthy rich like the Malfoys but I see gran living in a understated manor home with a house elf in the country.

I think Neville's parents lived closer to the city thou.

I don't think Gran was ever mean or cruel to Neville or overly harsh to him. I do think that she compared him to his father, but not in a mean way.

I do think Neville may have had his own garden where he lost Trevor all the time.

I believe that he lived with his grandmother in a small estate summer house with a gardeners cottage. I believe they had house-elf's and his grandmother is very caring. Remember she is always sending him things it shows she really cares for him. She understands his weaknesses and tries to help him overcame them, so naturally she would play up n his strengths. I think they have a real estate English garden with several green houses herb garden vegetable patch tons of trees, shrubs and flowers. I am sure he has a small green house for his swamp from George, and a special green house for exotic plants his great uncle is always bringing him. I think this paretns lived in the cottage and had a row house in London that was unplottable as well.
I think he spends most of his time in the gardens and green house experimenting and planting and caring for his charges. He also be alot in the estate library which he has expanded with many books on plants, herbology, potions, and such. I think he is the kind of professor whw would invite promising students to see his gardens and green house during the summer.

i think this aswell... by 'row house' do you mean terraced houses ?XD i thought it was a funny way of wording it...

i reckon he keeps trevo in a large tank, like a miniture pond, with water and plants and stuff, so that he doesn't lose him.

i think his grandma always trys to help him ,but gets a bit frustrated with him because of how clumsy he is - i think she blames this trait on Alice unintentionally.
