OK My answer to "True or False: Neville would've been good in Potions, if he had made it into Slughorn's Newt class": TRUE. Neville's true vice is his self confidence or lack there of. In the books we see how intimidated by Snape (Grrr) Neville is and this affected his porformance in class. We also see how much he excels at something he enjoys (Herbology + + Neville = Top scores). With Snape out of the way and Slughorn's good nature, I think Nevs has a ripper chance of doing well in NEWT level Potions. OH and the book shows us how happy (or at least better than usual) Neville was during the Potions OWL without Snape's presence.

True/False: Neville's Toad Trevor is an animagus or something more than he seems eg. He could be some sort of watch-over-Neville type of person/animal/device.

Ok my news. If you would like to hear other's opinion's on our favourite Gryff stud there have been a few Neville discussions on Pottercast. If you listen to Mugglecast I think they did some too but I dunno. Anwho a discussion by the Leaky Mods (near the start) on Neville can be found in Pottercast #43 and a discussion on whether Neville is under a memory charm can be found in Pottercast #44 with Canon Conundrums (near the end). Both are interesting and, I'm sure, even more so to you guys.

OK I don't know the deadline for this (which is pretty bad of me. Not knowing JKRs BDay and all *facepalm*) but I need to know if we are interested in contributing to this. I don't have a mic so I can't do it but I am the one to send it in.

Our club should contribute! We may be little but we are mighty! I think we can all post something to put into it and whoever is recording can add it all in (unless, of course, we come up with something as a club). If it all seems too much or we can't get it done in time, that's OK. Don't fret.

How to make a clip for the radio:

If you have a microphone (mic) for your computer, but aren't sure how to make a recording, here's how.

1. Go to your Start Menu, and select Program Files.

2. Go to Accessories.

3. Windows XP Users then go to Entertainment. (Other users may see the next step before that)

4. Select Sound Recorder.

5. A little window will open that looks like a primitive, little media player. Make sure your mic is plugged in and switched on (if your mic has its own switch).

6. Click the Record button (with the red circle on it) and speak into your mic. It helps if you write out what you want to say, first, and practice reading it.

7. Sound Recorder records 60 seconds at a time. If you run out of time, click record again to add another 60 minutes onto your file and keep going.

8. Practice makes perfect. As soon as you have a file you're pleased with, go to File and Save As. Name it and save. I suggest naming it NLFC_BDaygreetings

9. PM me and I'll give you my email.

10. Send the clip to me.

About the radio/birthday thingy for Jo and the Boy Who Will Probably Live (by book 7, haha), I think it would be great if we join. I don't have a mic, but if I need to borrow one or use a pc somewhere else I would. No promises though, I'll just see what I can contribute. And btw, Jo & Harry's bdays are on July 31st (I think).

Love this theory...Trevs is usually just seen as a comic relief in the story, but he could probably be like Crookshanks--not an animagus, but just a really smart pet. Trevor may not have demostrated any signs of intelligence so far and he may have attempted to escape lots of times, but he's a really loyal pet. A constant in Neville's life.

I haven't heard these discussions yet, but I have heard about that theory that Neville is under a memory charm...to erase whatever it is that happened when he was a baby? Anyway, there's a REALLY good FF about Nevs I found on sugarquill.net (top site). They held an FF writing comp and of all the entries this story about the famed underaged Herbologist won!
