hmm...

I'd have to say the only songs that ever truly made me cry were:

Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlysle...that ones about how he's losing his little girl and she's growing up it's so sad

After an Afternoon by Jason Mraz

"Time of Your Life" by Greenday always makes me cry. It never fails and I can't stop it... I mean, I don't even know why it does.

"Tears" by X Japan, especially with the clip video. This song was originally dedicated to the drummer's (Yoshiki's) father, and then he rededicated it to their guitarist (hide) when he died. The first verse in english is usually what gets me... But it's feelings that may pass through someone's head when they lose someone they love a lot.

Those are about all, except for the occasional burst of "I can't believe he's gone" associated with hide.

Sing for the Moment by Eminem... it really resonates with me, and at times it makes me cry - despite the fact that I've played the track so many times all three of my copies of the album skip. -----> Slightly obsessive.

Time of Your Life by Greenday. Last year I went on a student ambassador trip for three weeks to Australia and I met a guy who I really did fall in love with at first sight. I was soooo sad to leave him (this is getting mushy) and this was the last song we heard together as we boarded our seperate planes. Ironic, huh? It was also my graduation song so I get a little more emotional on top of everything. lol.

Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton. That's what true songwriting is about. He shares his pain, and you cry along with the song. You can't help but feel for his loss.

And finally, the song Kim by Eminem. I know it's twisted, because you should be feeling sorry for Kim at the time (she is being "murdered" by her husband) but the things Eminem is saying about how she broke his heart, that really gets me.

Too lazy to change the time.

Ugh.... Offtopicalness drives me crazy...

Ah...

I think a lot of people will say Time of Your Life is one... mostly because it's used at a lot of big turning points in life... But I cry even when it has nothing to do with me. I guess it's just one of those songs that have a big impact on me....

Stan by Eminem if probably the only song I've ever cried because of. Well, that was for other reasons too, but still.

Darkness by Disturbed - it's such a greta song that really gets you thinking. I had borrowed the Disturbed CD (Believe) from a friend at camp one night, and I found that songand i was so mesmerized, I listened to it all night long.

My Immortal by Evanescence - My best friend and I discovered the CD before they started bplaying Bring me to Life on the radio and it was exactly at the time that she broke up with her boyfriend - and he was the only one she really cared for, and that song completely described it, so now we both sort of have a problem listening to that song.

Graduation by Vitamin C - i had a best friend in Fourth grad eand then we sort of split up. We used to always listen to that song. In may of this year (2003) she moved back to Holland and right before she moved away, we became friends again. The last two weekends when she was here, we spent together. The Friday before she left, I decorated her locker at school and I put the lyrics to the song up and I put a pen next to it, so people could sign it for her. By the end of the day there was no more room on the papers!!!(it was a banner) Now whenever I listen to that song, I think of her and it makes me cry.
