Ok, I ADORE THIS BAND!
Shiny Toy Guns is probably the best rock/electronica collaboration that has ever formed. Chad Petree and Carah Faye Charnow both have great voices and their sound is one in a million!
Now, they're not really old (realeasing a finalized album in October '06), but they've gained major popularity. And with the beautiful melodies of Rainy Monday or You Are The One, I can see why. |

Agreed, they're pretty good. I'm getting a bit sick of Le Disko though. Never was that great a song to begin with (in my opinion), and now they're using it in a mobile commercial. And at every electronica party I'm going to, too. Bit annoying...
If you're looking for bands similar to them, you should check out The Faint and White Rose Movement. They're a bit, well, rougher and grittier in their sound, but I like them (especially the latter, they're great). There's also a German band called Polarkreis 18, but unless you live in Germany or have access to a really big record store, I doubt you can get your hands on their CD.

Also: Shy Child. Just bought their CD (Noise Won't Stop) a couple of days ago and it's pretty nice.

AWESOME band.
My friend first introduced me to Le Disko, which I immediately fell in love with (and it's my ringtone to this day XD)
But my favorite song is You Are The One. The vocals and lyrics of that song are amazing. <3
Definitely one of the under-rated chick-fronted bands out there. ^^ | |

But their album is not the greatest, I gotta say. I downloaded it off iTunes ages ago and never properly got into it. Basically, only their mainstream songs are good, in my opinion.
