Well... as you might know, Last night was the kool hause Muse gig. I went... here is happened
My sister and I went to the muse concert last night. I went into Toronto, we headed off to a sushi bar, had dinner, then went to Kool Hause. We waited outside for a while, but it was totally worth it. Once we got in we checked our coats and bags, then headed in. I was dying to buy one of the muse Tshirts, but the were 40 bucks, and least to say, I did not have that kind of money on me. So, we head into the concert, and about half an hour later the opening band (evening) comes on stage. They were alright, but they just seemed to lack enthusiasm, and their sound just wasnt as full as it should have been. The loudest cheers they got was when they agreed with a guy in the crowd who yelled **** bush. It look about 40 minutes for Muse to come out, and inbetween the two bands, i got to meet some neat people. We met these three guys, one of whom was pretty goth with long dark hair- he had lost his voice at halloween partys. Another one of them we met cause he helped us get in front of these really pushy tall guys who were in front of us. Then we also met this guy who had gone to a halloween party as someone from Rocky Horror, and had therefore shaved off his eyebrows and had then painted back on. Near the end of the concert one of the lenses in his glasses got knocked out of his glasses... it was quite funny :p
Anyways, by the time Muse came to the stage, I was feeling pretty sick. Ends up, either the food I ate gave me food poisoning, or i am highly allergic to smoke. Well, least to say, I had to run out of the crowd a few times to puke. But aside that fact, even with feeling like complete ****, the concert was the best I have ever been to. Matt Bellamy walks out on stage in a red shirt, a pick in hand. He grins, throws on his guitar. On the other side of the stage Chris does the same with his bass, and Dom takes his seat at the drums. They strike up Butterflys and Hurricanes. It was amazing. Everyone went crazy. Matt did his pian solo. It was the best piano I have ever heard. It was great. Now, though I can't remember the exact order of songs, I know they played all the ones I really wanted them to play- Hysteria, The Small Print, Butterflys and Hurricanes, Stockholm syndrom, Time is running out, Apocolypse please. Most of their songs were from absolution, and they only played 2 or 3 which I didnt recognize (As Hullabaloo and Orgin of symmetry are way to expesive for me to buy). I got about 4 pics from the concert and one video (I feel bad... i told the security guard i wouldnt film, but I did). The photos are on my deviant art- sapphirewing.deviantart.com - and the video is on my computer. if anyone knows how i could upload it to the internet, please let me know. Anyways, the concert was amazing. they ended it with Stockholm Syndrom and some guitar solos. At the end of the concert, I was standing over by the side of the stage (due to sickness reasons), but then when they were walking off the stage, Matt noticed me and the other people at the side of the stage and he turned, grinned, and waved to us. Everyone over where I was starting screaming like mad.
The concert was great, it is literally the best concert I have ever been to... Now if you'll excuse me, I think I will go listen to some muse!

Muse is awesome, I love the feeling the songs give. Stockholm Syndrome must be my favorite, but everything else is a close second. I think Ruled by Secrecy (or the last song on the CD, #14 I think) should by in the movie 28 Days Later, If you watch that movie (which is awesome too) and then listen to Absolution, they seem made for each other....

Kerrang! magazine called the piano/guitar transition in New Born "the most electrifying moment in modern live music". I'm not surprised. It sounds like it was absoutely unbelievable.

I heard Hysteria on TV for the first time on Saturday, looked up Muse in the back issues of my music magazines, came across that ^ article and bought Absolution there on Monday.

I love all the songs, but I'm addicted to TIRO, Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome and Thoughts of a Dying Atheist. Bought New Born off iTunes based on that article and godsdangit it's electrifying recorded. That riff has been irritating my parents for the past few days...

Yeah... my birthday's in a couple of weeks, though. I think I'll ask for them. And the Hullaballoo DVD, though that might be pushing it. All right, no, that would be pushing it, but I'm getting a Muse poster off OnePoster.co.uk when I eventually top up my Splash Plastic card.

Okay, who thinks Matt Bellamy is hot?

Hmmm. I wouldn't say that Matt Bellamy is really 'hot' in terms of looks. But since he is so talented it makes him hot.
haha. does that make sense?

Lauradonaghy- It is really hard to find muse albums cheap. But they are really cheap in Australia. All of them are 14.99 there (very annoying as I had bought origin of sym for $50). Not sure if that really helps. You'd have to have a friend in Australia to get it.

It does. But I disagree:

Now that is one very pretty little man. He's only 5'7 apparently.

Ah no, they're cheap enough here as well depending on where you shop. I did actually get all the albums since my last post, plus the DVD and quite a scary number of pictures of Matt printed out and stuck up in my bedroom.

I've only recently gotten "into" Muse, if you want to put it that way, but I adore Absolution. I honestly couldn't pick a favorite song of theirs, but I love "Time is Running Out," "Hysteria," "Thoughts of a Dying Atheist," many others. Yesssss.

Yeah, that's how I started as well. If you can find it in the shops, you should see about getting their second album - Origin of Symmetry.
And when you're used to that, try Showbiz. It's pretty Radiohead-ish (I mean, Overdue is practically a spin-off from Paranoid Android) but still some great songs on it. Poor Matt sounds like his voice has only just broken on a few songs.
If you're feeling really keen, there's this site http://www.overdue.ru which has some of their b-side tracks, the ones that weren't on the Hullabaloo CD. http://www.muselive.com has plenty of nice bootlegs, the one from Earl's Court on the 20th is incredibly high quality.

And if anyone's wondering about my sig, it's from this:

It features me, naked and horribly emaciated, with birds on my shoulders. I am holding a glowing heart in front of my genitals...
The next day, when we leave for home, I see Dom, our drummer, walking around the airport with the painting, showing it to complete strangers.
 Apparently the painting now hangs in Dom's flat, just to make Matt uncomfortable. Mission accomplished, I should think Yeah I'm obsessed.

Aahhhh... I forgot "The Small Print"!

I've been looking about for Origin of Symmetry, Showbiz, etc. but nowhere around where I live carries them. I've looked on Amazon though and once I earn some money... haha I'm pretty much broke. But there are about 50 CDs I want... the other Muse ones are definitely top of the list though!
