Come up to the door of Professor Dumont’s office and knock, the professor is usually in and is happy to talk to you about whatever you may have in mind, especially if it involves muggle studies.

As you walk through the door of Professor Dumont’s office, you are struck by the fact that at least part of this room appears not to be that magical at all, but looking rather like an office you might see on muggle television (had you ever had the chance to see muggle television, that is!) The main feature of the room is a very large wood desk with a nice comfortable chair behind it, a purple, cushiony chair. There are a couple chairs in front of the desk, which appears as though it may be oak, both these chairs are a dark green velvet, padded, and appear very comfortable as well. The rug on the floor is a forest green color, imprinted with a variety of flowers in many different colors, it is very relaxing and lovely, one of the prettiest rugs you could ever find. Professor Dumont inherited this rug from his family, it is an heirloom.

On the right hand wall you notice many photos calling to mind muggle entertainers. There are photos of various muggle rock bands from the ‘60’s and ‘70’s including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin (it turns out that Professor Dumont loves this type of music). There are pictures of Elvis Presley as well, along with such muggle icons as Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and many others.

On.the wall immediately behind the desk are some photos that are obviously personal. There are pictures of a very old castle with high pirouetting towers, this is Castle Dumont, Antonio’s family home. You gather that it is located somewhere in France, and you would be correct. You will also find many of the pictures that move and talk, wizarding pictures, there is a man and a woman in their 50’s, Professor Dumont’s parents.

Along the left wall there is a long table which goes the length of the room. On this table are many muggle items to look at and perhaps even play with, including computers, video monitors that might even pick up muggle television (who knows?), video game systems, cell phones, iPods, skateboards, yoyos, Playdough, Legos, various board games, and a huge variety of books on all subjects. Your eyes fall on this table longingly, perhaps you might have the chance to play with some of these items yourself if you are very good some time, you never know!

Lucas was excited to take muggle studies. He knew all about them, but he wanted to see what wizards said about them. He got lost for almost an hour trying to find the office for the professor who taught Muggle Studies. He didn't cry not once while he was lost. He found the door and he stood before it and sounded out the professors name. He took a small breath into his little body and knocked on the door and waited to be told to come in.

"Well, hello there!", Antonio said, going to open the door and finding a very young boy there, he couldn't have been more than 11 years old. "Come in, come in, young man, and take a look around." This was the first student who had visited Antonio so far this term. "I'm Professor Dumont, the Muggle Studies professor. I hope you will be showing up to class, I'll try to make it as fun and interesting as possible. And what is your name, young man?"

Lucas smiled up at the man, he was very nice. "Hello professor." he said brightly walking into his office. He looked around and everything. He wished the professor would let him play with some of the things. He knew how to work them all, but he just wanted to play with them. "Oh yes sir I'm looking forward to it. My daddy loves muggles." Lucas explained. "I'm Lucas, Lucas Greenwood." He said as he pulled out a little metal bucket from his pocket. It was decorated with Lucas' coloring and paintings of of different muggle things like tv and a cell phone and a few of Lucas' favorite super heroes. "I brought you this its full of muggle candy." He said proudly. He had fixed the bag at home. It had all his favorites in it. "I made it for you. It has pop rocks, and blow pops, and peanut butter M&Ms, and chocolate Mars bars." He said. It took all his will power to walk through the corridors without eating the candy himself.

"Well, Lucas, that is a very beautiful bucket," Antonio said. "And you made that yourself? I tell you what, why don't you take a look around at some of the things we have in here and then we can share some of that candy, how does that sound? And thank you so very much for coming here to visit me and for bringing me a treat, but I think I would much rather share it with you. Things are always better when shared, so much more fun."

Lucas beamed at Professor Dumont. He was very proud of his bucket that he made. "Yes sir, my mommy bought me the paints and I did it all by myself." He told him he little chest swelling. "I'm happy you like professor." He said. He liked making people happy. "I just love muggles. My mommy said I should bring you some muggle stuff as a present and I like candy." He told him. "Are you good with video games?" he asked him as he eyed his Xbox sitting on the table. He was itching to play it. "I like sharing too. I always have to share with my brothers." He said. Well it was more like they would beat him up and take whatever he had, but Luke would give it to them if they ever asked for it.

"That's great that you like sharing, too," Antonio told the boy. "It just so happens that I do like video games, and I have a feeling you like them, too. Would you like to play on the X-Box with me for a little while?" A lot of the students at Hogwarts had no idea what video games were, but Lucas seemed to be pretty familiar with them. Most interesting. He thought to himself, perhaps a lesson on video games might be a good one, maybe later on in the year. "You did a very good job painting that bucket, Lucas, i think you are showing some real talent there. Anyway, let's play!"

Diana was Half-and-Half.She knew most of the mggle culture as her mum was a muggle.But she wanted to see it from the Wizarding view.So,she went to Prof.Antonio's office,intending to meet him.She took a deep breath,knocked at the door,and waited.

Lucas nodded his head. "My mommy said sharing is love." He said softly. "I love video games. My and my daddy play them all the time. We play Mario brothers and Sonic and Madden. I would really like to play with you Professor Dumont." Lucas said smiling at him. "Yay! Let's play." Lucas said clapping his hands.

Jose walked over to Professors Dumont office he needed a word with him about something important. he knocked on the door and waited for an answer.

Dumont smiled happily. "Well, Lucas, I play all of those three games. Which one would you like to play?" Antonio could sense that this little boy felt alone here at Hogwarts, he was happy to make him feel at home, and there was something about him that he reallly liked. There was something about all of the students he liked, of course, they were all great, and he really did enjoy getting to know them all better.

"I'll be right back and we'll get the game started," he said as he heard a nother knock on the door. Was it someone else wanting to play?

Jose heard the professor and waited for him to answer the door.

"Hello, Jose, how are you doing?", Antonio asked, seeing a student he recognized from last term. "How may I help you today?"

Knocking on Professor Dumant's door, Liz steps back in wait. After seeing last years classes, she is really looking forward to Muggle Studies this year. She really learned a lot in about Muggles!

"Can we play Sonic? My daddy always beats me in that game, but I'm getting better." He said happily. He went and loaded the game for Professor Dumont and was going back to his seat when he heard a knock on the door. "Yes sir," He replied as the professor went to open the door.

"Sonic happens to be my favorite game!", Antonio said happily. "Of course we can play that one!" A boy after his own heart, he thought to himself. Suddenly, there was another knock and he found not only Jose there but a girl who he hadn't met yet. "Come in, both of you," he told them, marveling at his newfound popularity. "I'll be right back, Lucas, go ahead and get started," he called.

"Hello, Professor Dumont. I was just..." seeing her office, and seeing other students playing, she looks up surprised.

"Hello, how are you," Antonio said. "I was just showing off some of the muggle items I have here in my office, some of which we will be talking about in class, no doubt. Do come in and have a look if you like! You're more than welcome to join us. This is the muggle entertainment system known as X-Box, and we were just getting ready to play a muggle game called Sonic the Hedgehog. Are you interested?" Antonio liked to try to keep his office as kind of a work station, a place where students could come and learn more things about the muggle world.

Mariel had been walking through the castle to familiarize herself with the layout of the castle. Walking around on the first floor, she noticed some empty classrooms and soon found herself walking by the door of a relatively noisy room.

Curiosity piqued, she stopped to read the sign hanging on the door. Antonio Dumont. Muggle Studies. Muggle Studies? Mariel squinted at the sign. Yep, that's what it said.

Mariel stood and thought for a moment as she stared at the sign and began an internal discussion.
I thought this was a school to learn magic.
What is Muggle Studies and why do they teach that here?
My sisters never spoke of this class when they went here.
Mariel frowned. Her imagination running wild, she wondered if they kept Muggles under glass so as to study them in detail.

The door to Professor Dumont's office was opened just a crack, so Mariel craned her neck to try to see what was inside.

"Ummm, ok. What exactly is an xbox? I've never heard of anything like it." Liz asks.

"Though we did learn about ipods last year! This might be fun too!" Liz says with a small smile.

Lucas smiled and clapped. "Its one of my favorites too professor." he told him. He jumped out of his chair and went over to the Xbox. He checked the cable to make sure it was hooking up right. He mommy was always hooking it up wrong. He opened the box to the game and popped the disc into the the machine. He gra
