Has anyone heard of this show on HBO?

Yes! It is really good! I actually just got the first season on DVD for my birthday. They are actually based of the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris, which are also really good books if you're interested in reading them.

True Blood is absolutely amazing. The whole book series by Charlaine Harris is also amazing. I read all of them in like a week over the Christmas Break. Great reading...great story lines...vampires the way they are supposed to be. I love the show too because it's not just a reproduction of the books, they incorporate the books but they change up the story line just enough that even if you read them all you're still guessing as to what's coming next week on the show. Many Many Many KUDOS!!!!!!!!

I agree. They don*t change any of the main themes and such from the books, but they do add on to them. I really like the actor they picked to play Eric, and I think Anna Paquin makes a good Sookie.

I never even heard of the books prior to this show but I love this show and I am like glued to my TV every Sunday night!!!

ZOMG!! I love that show. I watch it with my sis and if we missed an episode, we'd spazz out lol

But this season seems sooo much more exciting

She's a maenad in the books...so I'm assuming she's the same in the show.

Well Maryanne is not really in the books...what her character is but she isn't really named haha. I just re-watched the entire first season since I got it on DVD. Unfortunately I don't have HBO so I am not sure how I am going to watch this season haha. I used to go to a friend's house every sunday to watch the first season, but I don't think I am going to be able to do that this season. I guess I will just have to wait. I did get to watch the season premiere of the second season though (we had HBO free for the weekend) and it was pretty good.

I can't believe there wont be an episode this week! ... and the next ep. is the season final! ... I don't know how I will cope with out my weekly dose of true blood!!

I can't wait til it comes back on. I didnt get to see the last two episodes. The only reason me and my friend, Laura, got to watch it is because her sister made us close our eyes at some of the parts.I'm glad she did though.

Oh, yes. I think it's great. I really want to get the first season on DVD, but I can't find it anywhere. I just have to look around a bit. I also want to read the Sookie Stackhouse series, which this show is supposedly based from. I didn't even know that until today!

Let me get things rolling by saying I am totally in LOVE with the show. I am a bit disappointed with some of the actors they cast, but I am VERY pleased with Alexander Skarsgard as my favorite bad boy vamp. Rawrr!

I am really pleased at how closesly they stick to the books also.

I LOVE TRUEBLOOD. I only seen it twice or so but I instantly loved it.

I don't mind Anna Paquin and the Bill actor; they're not horrible. I mean, it would be a COMPLETELY different story if Johnny Depp played Bill (; glad he doesn't, as it would be odd of him to follow a trend, specifically the vampire trend), but maybe it's 'cos I haven't read the books.
