MMFC #5 - Minerva as a student


What do you think Minerva was when she was younger. What kind of student was she. Was she the bookworm type one like Hermione Granger or was she the opposite. Was she the kind of student that she was mostly on her own or was she always surrending by friends......

I can see her as being both; she's obviously brilliant enough to know her stuff in Transfiguration, but she's also a bit on a no body. The Ministry doesn't touch, nor do they want too. I guess this could be because she was so distant when she was younger; she was a Quidditch star I think) in school, so she was popular there, but also she kept to her studies. I could see her by herelf, nose in a book her fingers played out over a piece of parchment studying for finals. But I can also see her being surrounded by friends, being the hit of the party type thing.

I agree with Ari. I think she was both. She was very brilliant at her work & she had alot of friends. She always found time to be with them.She might have been on the Gryffie Quidditch team & that made her even more popluar.

I am guessing that she was alot like the students at Hogwarts. Smart like
Hermione, friendly like Ron, and strong like Harry.. Played quidditch. I noticed her name on the cup along with James Potter

yup, I think she was smart & friendly. She could have been on a quidditch team. Wonder which position she played...

I think that she is like Hermione but not only following her school work but I see that sports seem to play a big part in her life.I think that since she was abandoned she didnt have lots of friends and was kinda like Harry .I can tell that she is an adventurous.

I forgot to mention this, I also think she would have been a prefect & Head Girl.

See now, I don't agree with you all with the quidditch respect. Sure Minerva loves the game and will attend everyone to support her lions, but she doesn't strike me as the athletic type.

To me, I see Minerva as the quiet and reserved student, but not afraid to speak her mind either. That's why she might also have been prefect and/or head girl. She strives to do her best at everything, but might not have been the 'most brilliant witch of her year' like Hermione was. She was smart, no doubt, but not the smartest.

We also know from DH that she was good with mind games / riddles, judging from her ability to figure out the riddle to Ravenclaw CR...

intersting, i think that Minerva is clever, but i cant imagine her as a student!

As for Minerva's friends at Hogwarts, I would imagine that she had a close group of friends that she studied with... not a huge group, but maybe five or less in her "close group", whom she would spend her time with. Perhaps they were even her dorm-mates...

She's very strict, so I think she was a Prefect also.

Well, Dumbledore had considered that too, but I'm not sure about her..I think she started teaching after a brief vacation..
