Fourth-Floor Corridor

https://s26.postimg.cc/jkthqlimx/corridor-banner.jpg
The fourth floor is the quietest floor in all of Hogwarts. Those who have been here long enough and know the layout know this as an obvious fact because the primary features of this floor are the Library and Study Hall. To soften your steps as you make your way around, a carpet drapes the entire floor of the corridor. Remember to keep your voice at a whisper because there's important studying going on in this part of the castle!

You will find large green vases placed in the corners of the corridor as well as a number of portraits. There really isn't anything exciting about the vases, though Peeves is known to pick them up and throw them at unsuspecting passersby -- it is strongly advised that you always stay alert. As for the portraits, you will likely notice right away that most of them are of peaceful landscapes. Nevertheless, you will eventually come across Brutus Scrimgeour (author of The Beaters' Bible), Hengist of Woodcraft (founder of Hogsmeade), and Edward Rabnott (a wizard with three different personalities).

One would think that with all the events around the castle plus the already difficult (extra difficult for him) third year curriculum, that would mean Dezi Willard would, for once, spend some time studying and doing homework. Or maybe just ... not randomly napping around the castle.

Anyway, if you would think that, you would be wrong.

He loved the fourth floor, he really did. It was quiet, the busy whispering of the nerds as they rushed to their nerdy library was like a nice, soothing lullaby, AND the floors had carpets. It was a lot less quiet than the Gryffindor Common Room. This floor certainly wasn't turning into lava. (Plus the sofa had disappeared and his dorm smelled of old socks; terrible for napping).

So there was the thirteen year old, sitting on the floor and leaning on a large vase, lightly snoring as the chocolate frog he had been considering eating struggled to set itself free on his hand.

Research as on this third years mind. It had been all term really but after Valentine's day things it had been more of a focus for her. So heading to the library she wanted to see what books they had on teenagers. Her friends were looking different, they were prettier and Chloe still looked like a 8-year-old little girl. She knew it was the reason the boy she liked didn't like her even if he didn't say it.

So she headed to the library with some motivational posters tucked under her arm. The Ravenclaw loved to make posters and cards, she loved doing random acts of kindess and when she got down she would make posters to try to make others feel good.

The wall near the vase looked like a good place and she used a sticking charm to put up the poster that said Believe in yourself, you are awesome. It wasn't until she was done sticking it that she noticed someone laying against the vase.

WAS HE DEAD?

No, no the pink creatures had eaten the professor just not killed and left... unless something else was out there, it was Hogwarts. The noises though, nope not dead, snoring, the third year boy was snoring. She knew him, she saw him in classes, they were the same year, but what was his name? Bending down she poked at his shoulder.

"Pssss hey.... wake up"

Speaking of things Dezi knew nothing about, the rather sudden and hormonal drama involving most of his classmates. Or ... well, at least a large part of them. He didn't know and he didn't try to understand it; he was fine playing football with Céline and trying to copy off Elise's homework. Add to that list napping. Yes, napping. If pink fluffly creatures wanted to nibble on his fingers, that was okay too. He wasn't too worried and, if anyone asked him, he'd proclaim that he was grateful he didn't have to attend any more lectures with Dopple in her overheated room with her almost dead kneazle.

But currently, he was too busy flying around in his dreams, like Superman. So content one arm even popped up and extended in front of him. Weeeeeeeeeee.

Mmmhmmmmhmmmm, flying was brilliant.

Until something (a bird? a bit of space debris?) hit him in the shoulder, anyway, and the third year woke up, rather disorientated. "Whaaa, what, what happen?" Blinking, he looked up at his classmate and frowned. "Hey ....." Something with C, something with C. "Cassandra." Nailed it. "What's up?"

She watched him curiously as he woke up and looked at her, though she scrunched her nose as he said the wrong name, "Choe" correcting him was all she could think to do for a reaction to. She just stared for a bit not even sure what to say first, so many questions.

"Why are you sleeping in the corridor, you do know it's not safe around here right now." Her eyes scanned the corridor for the cute little creatures. "You were snoring, do you always snore? You know that could be an underlining symptom of something else. I read that somewhere." Though she couldn't remember where she read it.

"Aren't you afraid of a professor finding you sleeping? What if you got in trouble?" She was all for the occasional nap, but was it worth it in the corridor?

Well, he was right about the C but wrong about literally everything else. "Chloe, yes, I didn't know that." Why lie and pretend he did? No matter, though, he knows it now and he won't forget! Possibly. "I'm Dezi!"

Dezi Willard, currently staring some more at the girl as she asked all the questions in the world! Or so it seemed, anyway. Wowza. "Okay, okay, bearer of bad news." What was that ... 'underlining symptom'? "Are you saying I'm sick?" Sure, his nose was a little runny but he was okay! It just meant he had wipe it more often, okay, he wasn't SICK.

The chocolate frog still in his hand moved a little, perhaps realising the boy was distracted, which, unfortunately, meant the third year finally remembered it and bit its head off. "They're too busy chasing furballs." Probably. He didn't know what the professors were doing and he hadn't considered before choosing this particular napping spot. He stood up at last, eyes immediately falling upon the poster Chloe had placed on the wall. "Gee, thanks! I AM awesome. Should you be here, then?"

Oh, Deniz, that was a fun name. She would remember that for now on. "Sorry I was just looking out for your safety and stuff." Being nice and helpful was something she always enjoyed doing, but the boy seemed to not really want it or was he just having that first wake up struggles sort of thing. She assumed it was because he just woke up and let his words just go for now. "I don't know there are many reasons people snore, but I'd get it looked at just in case." She'd suggest that she felt his head to see if it was warm, but Chloe was never good at that and she wasn't a grownup.

Ugh, he was barbaric, biting the poor chocolate frogs head right out. Chloe loved Chocolate frogs but wasn't so aggressive eating them. "Even so, you probably shouldn't be sleeping here." What if one of those creatures came, what would happen?

Her green eyes widened as she looked between the poster and the boy. "I'm here putting these posters up and... and.. . and are you trying to say I'm not awesome?"

Hit to the confidence Deniz, gosh.

.... fair enough. Truth be told, it was more the latter. Sleeping always made him groggy for a few hours a bit and no one liked to hear they were possibly sick by a stranger just because he was snoring. He was definitely going back to this dorm tonight and informing all this dormmates that they needed the hospital wing. Maybe the furry creatures had gotten to them without them noticing! GASP. Trying to be casual about it, he tugged at his sleeve just to check if his wrist had pink fur on it now. No? Okay, cool. He was safe for now. "It doesn't hurt to check it, I guess. I'm sure lots of people snore, though."

It was an epidemic. Whatever that was.

Not bothered, the boy shrugged. "It's not a bad spot. The carpet is comfy and it's quiet. You should try it one day!" See, he was nice, offering to share his napping spot and everything. Except maybe he wasn't THAT nice because clearly he said something wrong, even without actually meaning to. Eyes as wide as saucers, the thirteen year old shook his head vehemently. "No! I mean ... yes ... no?" AAAAAAH. "You said it was dangerous and you're here alone too!! I bet you're totally awesome!"

Yikes.

She nodded when he agreed it wouldn't hurt to check, of course, it wasn't. Her mother being interested in healing was up on all the checkups and going to the healer, plus using many organic things. "Yes I think they do, but there is always a reason. Either the way your anatomy is with your mouth, you could have a cold, you're definitely not overweight, so either your mouth and sinus were made in a way that makes you snore, you have a cold, or something worse. " She was being helpful with the things that she read, did he see this.

"No, no, I'll take your word for it. I would be too afraid to nap out here alone. Older students could be mean and do something to me." Her thoughts went back to the Christmas cards and how they thought she liked Derf when she only liked him as a friend. [b] "I don't even nap in the common room, just my dorm.... well I guess I did sleep in the common room for one or two nights when my roommates were fighting, but I made a fort around me so it was very private.

Chloe at that moment wondered if all her hard work to make others feel good was a waste of time. She never felt it was a waste of time because she liked helping others, but she always did it when she felt down and she had made these posters after Keenan rejected her valentine, but maybe she should face it that she wasn't likable. Even as she stammered to try to retract his words she just shook her head, "It's fine, you.. you were probably right the first time, but there is nothing wrong with trying to inspire others even if you yourself aren't awesome or cool." She pulled at her bag strap feeling all kinds of ways. "Plus I have been keeping my eyes out for the pink things, I want to find them really, to try to stun them and take them to Professor Wayland so I know they are safe. I don't want them harmed." She knew there were some that would kill them right on site and that scared her.

oh its Erik ok 03-14-2019 01:23 AM

Why was Igor doing this he didn't know he was talked into it by Zoryn and didn't have the courage to rudely refuse. He even liked the Prefect even though he was a little weird and all the rumors about him where um not nice. Rumors he was helping spread now with this poster.

Sorry Prefect Max.

Sooo....he came innocently enough and with guess not a lot of people around paying attention to a small first year. He put up some posters

She knew there were some that would kill them right on site and that scared her.

Unfortunately, he really didn't see that. Infact, he barely heard everything she said because there was just so much of it. Plus, it wasn't exactly the easiest of things to understand. "I don't think I have a cold..." As for his mouth ... the third year gingerly touched his lips and jaw, trying to find the apparently elusive defect that caused him to snore. "How do you know all of this, anyway?" He had had a look at her tie, he knew she was a Ravenclaw but still -- this was Mother levels of knowledge.

And he was preeeeety sure she was too young to be one of those.

Nonplussed, even by the prospect of his new disease, Dezi shrugged. "I don't think they would, the older students tend to ignore us." Which suited him just fine, really, but he couldn't say he was sad Chloe wasn't willing to try out his nap spot. He had offered mostly because he felt he had to, to be quite honest. Keeping it for himself after all of this suited him just fine. "Building forts is fun, you definitely had the right idea. Much better than girls fighting."

But really, she did talk a lot. With a vigorous shake of his head, Dezi lifted one hand. "No, no, no,no. Don't go around saying I think you're boring or something." Tact? He doesn't know her. "If I can't stay here alone then neither should you, creature hunting or not." With a grin that showed off his pearly whites, he crossed his arms. "You're totally awesome. Awesome people wouldn't want to save those furry things. Besides ...." He paused for a few moments as a tiny boy caught his eye and looked at what he had left behind. "Your posters are much nicer than that one." Though not as funny. Stifling a laugh, he continued. "And at least you aren't the Slytherin Prefect." You Know Poo. That was the funniest thing he had read all year. And that included his own essays.

Was the boy listening to her or was he being a boy and only hearing some of the things. She noticed her brothers did that too. "Well I'm glad you don't have a cold, it is cold and flu season, even if we have potions and things you could still get things." Though she wasn't sure if they got it as much as muggles, she hadn't seen many sick at the castle this year. She remembered the great mono attack, but that was so last term. When he asked how she knew all this that was time for Chloe to puff out her chest and be proud, "I read about it in books. My mum had wanted to be a healer before she opened her dance studio, so she has healer books around the house." One of the sections had been on snoring and Chloe found it super interesting. "I love reading, do you?"

She couldn't help the look she was giving, older students ignored them? Really? "You must be super lucky or something, I mean I have many older friends. Maybe Ravenclaw older students are nicer? I had some mean Hufflepuff ones around Christmas tease me. So some aren't very nice either. " At least that was her experience. "Right? It is so much fun and a nice place to hide away from everyone when you need alone time."

He was kind of cute when he smiled like that, did he know? Chloe felt her cheeks go pink at the thought and focused back on her poster as he spoke about her not being lame and things that he had said first. [b] "Maybe we should both head back to our common room, we could walk together since it is on the same floor. She did turn and look at him oddly as he mentioned not saying the creature, but before she could protest he was talking about posters.

"What?" Oh, wow, she couldn't believe it, "Hey you.... come back here!" The boy was gone and she stood looking at poor Max's face. Taking her wand she removed the poster and crumpled it up. "That wasn't very nice and Max is super nice, he doesn't deserve to be picked on."
