The world’s oldest scientific zoo is right within the imperceptible boundaries of our very city. Well… the city that is home to the matchmaker team, London. They house virtually every animal one could think of on the spot. Why not start with the first thing to cross your path, the aquarium. It contains three separate halls filled with Amazonian fish, a coral reef habitat, and fish for conservation projects respectively. The aquarium is right by the reptile house (where the legendary Harry Potter released a python- the muggles never did figure that one out), and the outback exhibit.

There’s lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) and even a meet the penguins exhibit for you to explore. Thank the matchmakers for snagging those tickets. Of course, if monkeys or bugs are your thing, then why not go meet them?

Two cafes are in the zoo for you and your date to stop and have a bite, or head to one of the vendors if stopping to sit isn’t an option. The gift shop is just out the exit full of exciting souvenirs for you to buy your date. Pick up a map, and have a good time!

Well when he had filled out the application to say that he liked fun dates, going to the zoo was not exactly what he had in mind. Marcus supposed that if his date turned out to be a troll or was as boring as dragon dung then at least he would have the animals to look at and talk about.

He waited outside the entrance of the zoo with a box of chocolates in his hand. Of course Marcus didn't know if his date liked chocolates. If she didn't then all well and good because that meant he could eat them. Oh yes, he still had a sweet tooth.

At least he was on time.

Alessia came to the Zoo to find romance... Yes sir ree bob! Romance! She had filled out the application excited to be paired off with a stranger! Someone who didn't know who she was... Maybe she'd change her name... She'd tell him her name was Godiva, or better yet, Daphne... and then when their date ended in total blissful happiness she'd reveal her true identity and they'd live happily ever after.

Yes... Romance...

She watched the birds chirp as she approched the designated spot.

But there was someone familiar there, someone she knew. He best friend's ex husband. "Marcus?" She said approaching the man with her usual smile. "Is that you?" She said looking at him. "You look good."

At sound of his name, Marcus turned towards the female voice and when he saw who it was, a smile broke out across his face. "Alessia." he said, wrapping his arms around the blonde and giving her a hug.

It had been years since he had seen her. "So do you." In fact she looked better than good. She was smokin HOT!!

He pulled back so that he could get a real good look at her. "How have you been? What have you been up to?"

And why is she here?

At the zoo.

Where he was supposed to meet his blind date.

"Oh this and that really," Alessia told him. "I am working at the Norse Wizarding University, at a dig. What are you up do? Are you meeting someone here at the zoo?" Maybe he was! That would be exciting, maybe they could double date or something.

Wouldn't that be fun!

"Oh playing some gigs here and there." And loafing about in his spare time. Something he was getting rather good at.

Marcus looked down at the box of chocolate in his hands. "Yeah actually." Oh Merlin! She was going to think he was desperate or something..."I filled out an application for this matchmaker thing." Gah! He sounded like a loser. "And this is where they sent me for my blind date."

"Are you here with someone?"

Her already wide eyes opened even wider as she put two and two... LITERALLY together.

"Yeah... you apparently." She said and then giggled. "I... put in an application as well. I was told to report here for my blind date as well..."

Kind of... awkward really...

Her best friend's ex husband...

Still... she had always had an attraction to the man.

"So..." she said not knowing where to go to from there. "The zoo..."

They both applied for this matchmaker thing and now they had been matched together. Marcus knew that Alessia was best friends with Iliana but that didn't bother him none. He and Liss had always got on well.

Really well!

Marcus grinned at her and held out the chocolates for her. "Yeah." The zoo. It definitely wasn't the place he would have taken Alessia but they were here now. "Shall we have a quick look around and then go somewhere nice for dinner?"

"Sounds like a plan..." she said and took the chocolates. "My favorite! Will you share them with me?" She said opening the box and offering him one. "I could eat the whole lot of them if you don't." She said and giggled.

She looked over at the map as she popped a chocolate in her mouth. "No wolves..." She said.

Hell yeah he would share her chocolates. That's why he had bought them in the first place. Giving her a wink, Marcus took the chocolate and popped it into his mouth. "There's nothing wrong with eating the whole lot." He gave her the once over and grinned. "You'll still look hot."

"I remember." He wasn't likely to ever forget that term at Hogwarts not that he would ever say that to her. Axe didn't care who she was. "How about the bunnies first?"

"Mmmm Bunnies..." she thought with a smile, and then shook her head as if she was trying to wake from a day dream. "Maybe not... animals I consider food?" It was too close to the full moon. "What if we started by the aquarium and made our way up to the scary reptile house?" ... so she could pretend to be scared.

Oh right. Warm blooded animals would probably make her mouth water. Marcus sometimes forgot about that. "Okay then aquarium it is then." He took hold of her free hand and tugged her in the direction of the fishies.

He gave her hand a squeeze and another wink. "And don't you worry about those scaly creatures. I'll protect you." You know he'd probably have to give her lots of cuddles to make her feel better.

She chuckled under her breath and followed him to the fish. The schools of the wet creatures were quite beautiful as they swam by the magical barrier that separated them from the guests. She dragged her fingers over the barrier, touching the water and frightening the fishies. A group of grindilows swam by and seemed to threaten to jump out to frighten people. Alessia simply turned into Marcus and squeeked...

... some big bad wolf SHE was.

Marcus merely lent up against the barrier, casually watching as Alessia trailed her fingers through the water. He had absolutely not interest in the fish that were swimming about. His gaze was fixed firmly on the woman beside him.

And his arms immediately went around her when she did that adorable little squeaking sound. A low chuckle escaped his lips. "Now this is better." He definitely should have chased after her instead of her best friend.

"What?" She said pretending to be confused. "Oh..." And giggled as she snuggled closer to him. As they continued walking through the aquarium, she kept close to him. She hoped she wasn't seeming needy or clingy... but he'd said the closeness was better, so she obliged.

He didn't mind the closeness at all. Okay he was loving it. As if she couldn't tell. His arm was still wrapped tightly around her waist and Axe wasn't about to let her go anytime soon.

"Wanna check out the sharks?"

If she was scared of a couple of little fish then the sharks should really scare her, right? He was always thinking ahead.

"Sharks?" She said and this time she clung to him more... for real. "Uhmmm... yeah... we can go there." She said and looked in that direction. There was something in the paper about a giant white shark... She wasn't too keen on that.

Well he was hoping to have her closer but she was almost choking off the circulation in his arm. Apparently Alessia didn't like the sharks. "We don't have to go over there, you know?"

Marcus lightly brushed his lips over her temple as though it was the most natural thing in the world to do. Okay...that was rather unexpected.

As he brushed his lips on her temple she looked up at him surprised. Was that an attempt at a kiss? Or was he just being protective. "No... we can head to the sharks... I'm alright." She said and took a chocolate out of her box, popping it in her mouth as they walked. She offered him another piece while she smiled. And then a thought came to her mind.

... would Iliana be upset with her? She didn't think so. Iliana had left him, and married the groundskeeper... It had been a long while now, and poor Marcus hadn't gotten quite over her... as he was still single.

"I'm glad you are playing again. Will you be performing somewhere I could come see you?" Maybe she was pushing for a second date a little too fast.

Apparently she was just as surprised as he was with his actions. But it's not like they were strangers. There had always been that attraction between them and they had gone out on a couple of dates before.

Yeah he had definitely hooked up with the wrong friend and that had certainly bitten him in the butt. Maybe this was their second chance. Maybe.

Looking down at her, Axe gave her waist a squeeze. "I'll give you a private performance." he said with a devilish grin. "Do you still like pie?"

"I adore pie!" She said and jumped up and down clapping. Stopping when she realized what he was saying and that she was being an idiot, "A private performance would be nice." She said more calmly, her lips curling slowly into a smile.

Marcus raised his eyebrows as Less began to jump up an down. Well if he had of known he was going to get that reaction, he would have brought the subject up earlier. "Then it looks like we're going back to my apartment after we have finished here. I'll make us pie." he chuckled and waggled his eyebrows at her. "Maybe this time we might get to eat it."

If his memory served him correctly he had burnt the last one. Only because Alessia had been distracting him.

"So you said you're working at a Norse University...are you enjoying it there?"

She smacked his cheek lightly, and blushed a bit. "You are incorrigible!" She scolded and giggled a bit. "I do enjoy it... It's nice having to teach students who know the basics and even some advance rune studies. But I do miss Hogwarts. WU is not as exciting at Hogwarts... we certainly don't have floods, or age reversing curses..." She said laughing.

He rubbed his cheek where she had hit him and gave her a wounded look. "I was just being honest." He was also hoping for maybe a sympathy kiss.

Or a French madman cursing the kids and causing them to fight against each other. But Marcus didn't say that out loud especially considering that Alessia had been the reason that Remi had come to Hogwarts.

"Yeah I have to admit that I do miss it sometimes." He scooped up her hand and pulled her closer to the shark tank. "Fascinating aren't they?"

"Predators always are." She said and moved closer to him. "Did I hurt you?" She asked and put her head on his shoulder. "I didn't mean to."

She moved her finger up and down his arm and watched his face as she did. She was thinking of kissing him, but she wasn't sure she should. Did he wish to? And shouldn't the man make the first move. She didn't want to look at the shark, so her eyes saw nothing but his.
