As you and your date wander towards the lake, you are surprised to see something that resembles a tunnel has been set up around the lake. Near the entrance to this mysterious tunnel seem to be boats, but not any old boats. These are swan boats. Your thoughts think back to old carnivals, where couples would go on a romantic tunnel ride on swan boats. This is a more modern, and wizarding form of that exact ride.

After waiting in the short queue you are shown into a boat. This isn’t any normal swan boat though. At first it seems as though the boat is a pedalo, but once in the boat you realise that it has been magically charmed. The boat chugs along slowly, into the mouth of the tunnel. Once inside the lights dim, casting a romantic glow upon the inside of the tunnel. There are hearts everywhere, and romantic music in playing.

The slow boat ride takes about 20 minutes in total, but you are generally unaware of the time scales, as really all your concerned about is your date, and the romantic nature of this little boat journey. So sit back, and enjoy the romantic swaying of the swan boats.

Dressing for a date was nerve wracking enough in general, but dressing for a date with a person you didn't know, and a place you didn't know was much worse. Though, Pepper was quite content with what she'd ended up with. It wasn't too dressy and it wasn't too casual, it was JUST right. Yep.

She glanced around with curious blue eyes and hung back from the crowd and the line. She sort of needed her date before she got in it, right?

HEHE. Date! Pepper Kendrick had a date! Granted, it was with someone she didn't know, but hey, at least that meant that if he never showed up, the rejection wouldn't be AS bad, right?

Though she was high hoping that wouldn't happen.

Bradley looked down at him outfit for what felt like the hundredth time since leaving his flat. He didn't know why he was so nervous about this date, maybe because it was with someone he didn't know, or that....he couldn't really think of another example. Brad stopped short of the ride that he had been directed towards and breathed outwards. Well he was here at last, he made it that far but not he just felt like turning on his heel and running away.

Why did he sign up for this? it was bound to turn into a disaster...and he couldn't deal with rejection, but Brad didn't move, instead he looked left and right around him for the women who would be his date for the day. With a jolt of horror he realized he didn't know who he had a date with, only her name.

Um, now he was stuck.

Hmmmmmmmmm.

Everyone so far seemed to know exactly who they were with and what they were doing. Pepper was beginning to feel pricks of doubt in her stomach when she passed another glance across the crowd, and spotted someone new from the corner of her eye.

Maybe it was him? There was really only one way to find out.

She hoped she didn't look like a creeper as she walked over to him. HOPEFULLY her outfit decisions had payed off and she actually looked totally cute and date-able.

Hehe!

"Excuse me... are you Bradley?" If not, this conversation never happened. Eek!

Bradley jumped a little at the sound of a women's voice in his ear. Turning his head he looked down at a beautiful looking women, he was stuck for words for a moment but managed to swallow and give her a smile.

"That would be me" He turned to face her, keeping his smile on his face. He took in her appearance, from her outfit - which suited her very well might he add - to shy vibe she put off. It was pretty cute.

"You must be Pepper" He then said not sure whether to extend his hand to shake her's or lean in to kiss her cheek. he was stuck.

Oh! She hadn't meant to scare him! Not little ol' Pep! Eek. Maybe he was just nervous? It might be nice to know she wasn't the only one who was.

"Oh good." Pepper's grin was immediate and it was big. She was SO glad that she hadn't picked the wrong person to walk up to. How embarrassing would that be? "I am Pepper." She agreed with a little giggle and a nod. She noted that as of yet, he had not made any salt jokes.

Then, she wasn't really sure WHAT to do, so she glanced away towards the boats, hoping that he didn't notice the faint blush that was growing stronger and stronger. "The swans are sooo pretty." Did he think so too? Er.. guys didn't usually use words like pretty, did they?

He was tempted to make a salt joke but decided against it. He didn't know how she'd react and he didn't want to insult her, beside's his jokes were terrible. So instead he smiled and took in more of her beauty, the way her hair fell against her shoulders, her smile etc etc.

Brad was glad for a distraction when Pepper stated something about the swans. He hadn't missed the blush that had crept to her cheeks, he found it rather cute in fact. Saying nothing on that subject he turned his eyes too look in the direction Pepper was and towards the boats.

"They most certainly are" He replied with a nod. Gathering himself up he held out his arm and said, "Shall we?" Suppose they could start the date now.

Pepper turned back to look at him again, hoping that the blush had died a bit. "Oh." HEHE. She took his arm when he offered it. How sweet. Slowly, so as not to seem pushy, Pep turned them in the direction of the line for the swans.

"Have you ever done this before?" She asked curiously, tilting her head. "This swan riding thing? And.. well, this blind dating thing too?" Curious Pep was curious.

Bradley was glad when Pepper wound her arm around his, he didn't want to look stupid just holding his arm out and everything. Gently he felt himself being turned towards the boats and he took this moment to stop and stare at them. He had seen these types of boats before but never before had he been on one. He never thought of it before, they didn't look very stable.

"This is my first time" He explained looking down at his date, "At both blind dating and going on a swan boat trip" He further explained giving her a smile. "Yourself?" He asked as he started to lead her towards the boats to officially start their date.

The line wasn't long and Pepper was glad for it. She hated lines, really. Usually she had more patience, but today she was too keyed up for patience. She was trying to be a good girl though.

Pep giggled. "Yes, me too." Good to know. She wasn't so sure she'd be into the idea of him having a string of blind dates. It was sort of creepy, you know? "Do you live in London?" She asked, thinking about the little shop in Diagon Alley and wondering how many other people had been set up for dates. Hmm.

And so they joined the end of the line for the boats. Brad was thankful it wasn't a long line, he didn't want to spend a lot of the date waiting around. How boring? No he couldn't wait to actually get on the boats and get to know his date more. That would be interesting.

Brad smiled down at Pepper and was glad that she too had never done anything like this, would have been slightly awkward if she had. Only he didn't know how. He was glad however for the change of subject. "Yeah I moved here not too long ago," Brad moved forward with the line, "How about yourself?" He asked stopping again.

Hmm.. how long HAD it been? "A little over a year ago." Pep nodded, "I lived in Texas for a while before and Paris for a few years before that." Sigh. Paris. She LOVED Paris. "I went to school there, art school." Hehe. Giggle. "I'm an artist."

Not that she had managed to make a living off of that just yet. "I actually work in advertising right now." Yep. That was Pep. She got up and went to work every day, dressed all fancy and such. It was a good job and she was definitely lucky to have it. "What sort of job do you have?" Curious Pep was curious.

Oh yay! It was their turn for a boat! One of the workers led them down to their boat. How PRETTY!

If Brad was surprised to hear that his date had lived in both Texas and Paris he was more surprised to hear she was an artist. He didn't really know why, he knew many artists but then again he didn't really know a witch doubled up as an artist. Hm. Giving her a smile he tugged on her arm ever so slightly towards the boat that was waiting for them.

Keeping hold of her he helped her gently over the side of the boat and into whichever seat she wanted, he then climbed over the side shakily and thumped into his seat less elegantly then he wanted making the boat rock from side to side. He blushed and mumbled a sorry before saying more loudly.

"I work for the Ministry of Magic" He said simple giving her another smile.

Hehe. The boat only rocked a bit, no big deal. Pep smiled at him and tried not to giggle TOO much when the boat started moving. This was like the best date ever! It was so pretty and so lovely!

"I don't live too far from the Ministry." Nope, not too far. "What department do you work in?" Or was it something super dooper secret and he couldn't talk about it?

How exciting!

Brad was glad when the boat started moving, he couldn't wait to find out what happened next. This was exciting though he wasn't going to say that out loud. He gave her another smile and looked around him. There wasn't much on the lake other than boats going round in circles and the odd swan here and there so he wasn't sure what to look at. In the end he turned his head back and looked at Pepper. He noticed that one of her hands lying there limp in a way and was tempted to move closer to her and take it but he stopped himself.

Looking in her eyes once more he responded, "Department of Accidents and Catastrophes" With a smile. Hm, what should they talk about?

"Tell me a bit about yourself" He asked slowly.

"Ohh. That sounds super important." It totally did too. She was definitely impressed. Pepper peered curiously about the small boat and noted that they were heading straight for a tunnel. Hmm, what was in there? This was so exciting!

"What sort of things would you like to know?" She asked, turning to face him as the boat started inside the tunnel. EEK. Who turned off the sun?
