:music: Sitting on the dock of the Tay...:music:

Before you winds the chilly waters of the River Tay of Scotland. The dock is old, wooden, and rickety, but nothing to worry about! Fisherman and anglers are minding their own, making for cheery background noise as their day of fishing comes to a close. They'll be returning to their nearby fishing town, giving you and your date the privacy and rule of the river. The air is slightly fishy, but nothing overwhelming. You'll get used to it. An occasional fish jumps out of the water, perhaps celebrating another day it wasn't snatched from its home.

Two lounge chairs and a picnic lunch await for a light dinner, but in the meantime, why not see if the fish are biting? Two rods and reels are set up on the dock. Beside those, you'll find a tackle box full of complicated muggle fishing tackle. Careful with those! Hook one to your line...

...or use a line to hook your date ;).

In the event you or your date cannot swim, please use the provided life jackets. Or, just try not to fall in. Have fun and happy fishing!

Hilda never realised what she signed up for. She was never interested in blind dating but, she had to do it someday. Untill she found out she had to go fishing. Fishing wasn't really what she called "fun" but she had to give it another go, as she had never been fishing like this just ice fishing she had been.

Waiting at the dock for her date to come she looked at the boat she had to go in. It may reck her shoes. Another reason to not go fishing.

PatInTheHat 02-18-2012 02:35 AM

The last thing he'd expected when arriving to his flat, was to be signed up for a dating service. A dating service of all things on his much needed break. Nikolaos was resentful of the entire ordeal.

But then he'd heard what he would be doing.

And seeing how he planned on fishing most of his break anyway (he LOVED to fish) the man decided to give his surprise date a chance. Wasn't like this was serious or anything, right? Hands shoved deep into his pockets, Nikos strolled down the dock and took in the fishy air, eyes searching for his date.

"Excuse me," He went up to a woman who looked slightly out of place and touched her shoulder lightly. "Hilda?"

Hilda felt the light tap behing her and immedietly turned around to see who it was. It could have been a crazy wizard with all these crazy things or even crazier a muggle with crazier essentials. As she turned around she looked at the the man and figured out it wasn't a crazy wizard or muggle. It was her date. No one else would know her name. "Um, yes. I'm Hilda! Yes her nickname was Hilda. "You must be Nikolos-laos sorry. Nikolaos. Right?" She always had trouble with names and a failure to pronounce a lot of things.

"So just to make sure I wont get anything else wrong is your name Nikolaos Fakiris?" she said.

PatInTheHat 02-19-2012 05:05 AM

His hand jerked back when she turned so suddenly, returning to it's proper place in his pocket. A smile inched across his face, slowly turning to a grin as he nodded his head once she was finished. "Nikolaos Fakiris. You can call me Nikos." Or she could stick with his first name. Nikos wasn't fussed either way.

She seemed... nervous. Which made him wonder if he should feel the same. This was technically a first date. A fun first date. Shrug.

He offered her a hand.

"It's nice to meet you, Hilda Jarvi." Heh. The introduction part was over and done now, so could they fish? Did she even like fishing? It really was hard to tell with women. "Not a bad afternoon for fishing." He flicked his brown eyes up to the sky then back at her to gauge her reaction.

Eve. 02-21-2012 09:26 PM

Hmmm. Nikos or Nikolaos? She didn't like three syllable names much. Maybe because they were long...and some where confusing. Well not that confusing just un-natrual to say a long name compered to names in Finland like Laani.
"Cool." she said with a small grin on her face. She didn't smile a lot but that was normally due to nothing to smile at. "You can call me Nina if you want to."

Hilda took the mans hand for what it felt like the first time.

"Well its nice to meet you too!" she said with a nice smile on her face. "Maybe we should go fishing now?" She hadn't really been proper fishing but it was worth a try.

PatInTheHat 02-24-2012 05:25 PM

"Nina it is then," He grinned. Now introductions were definitely out of the way. And she seemed to want to get right to the fishing. So she liked it then! That brought some relief to Nikos as he retrieved his hand and glanced over at the boat. Without much hesitation, he carefully stepped one foot into the boat to keep it steady, then offered his hands to Nina. "Here, let me help you in."

It would be something terrible if she fell into the water before the date even officially began. Even if magic could be used to remedy the situation once all the muggles cleared the scene.

Eve. 03-02-2012 07:23 AM

Nina nodded. She wasn't often called Nina it was normally Hilda because some Finns didn't say her proper name properly it was more Hil-dey-ne-nah which she didn't like. It wasn't her actual name it was just a silly mistake that silly people did.

Nina took his hand into the boat. It was nice for him to do that as she didn't really get much people doing what he did. "So do you fish much?"

PatInTheHat 03-02-2012 09:06 PM

He helped her into the boat and made sure she was settled before he lowered himself in, looking as if he'd been sitting in a boat for all his life. "Only every chance I can find." He admitted with a grin. "My job keeps me pretty busy, so when I have time off, I fish." It was his only true hobby, though some called it an obsession, like that job of his.

"What about you? Do you like to fish?" He offered her a life jacket.

Eve. 03-02-2012 10:13 PM

This was definitely different to ice fishing. You could even do it in a boat! compared to ice fishing were you'd just be sitting there waiting for some fish to come and then it would be well really cold and frozen like. "So you really like fishing?"normally. It had already been better than ice fishing!

Taking the life jacket she put it on but like a lot of gear it was uncomfortable. "I've only been ice fishing in the winter so I can't really say whether I like it or not. But ice fishing is deadly boring."

PatInTheHat 03-02-2012 11:00 PM

"My father first go me interested when I was a boy." After making sure they had all their fishing tackle in the boat with them, he took hold of the oars and started them out towards the center. "He would take me fishing out in the open waters by our town. Been hooked ever since, even lived on my boat for a few years," But the that was a story he wouldn't be going into.

Ice fishing? "Can't say I've done that before." He let out a short laugh. "Most water's I've fished in have never been frozen." Too large for that. "What is it you do enjoy doing?"

Eve. 03-03-2012 09:12 AM

A long time fishing. Guessing he was around her age it had been over ten years which in her mind was a long time for something like that. She nodded slightly through the sentence listening closely like normal to what he was saying. "I could never live on a boat, too sickening with the waves." Last time she had just been on a large boat on the sea and it had made her sick for a long time, even a month.

What she enjoyed doing? Easy since it wasn't much. "Well, I quite like fitness and skiing. Oh and art and design."

PatInTheHat 03-04-2012 03:09 AM

"It's an adjustment for some," He shrugged his shoulders lightly. Most people he knew couldn't live on a boat, especially around these parts. Made the tall man miss being in Greece sometimes. They reached the center of the water in no time, and he stilled their small boat, exchanging the oars for fishing rods and tackle.

A gesture was made as if to offer up readying her rod.

"What kind of art?" He definitely wasn't one to know anything about design, but art was something he was just a tad bit familiar with, if only because his cousin was just as obsessed with it as he was with dangerous creatures.

Eve. 03-04-2012 07:44 AM

Nina nodded for a bit until something came to her mind. At most times she would just leave it and change the subject to something that she could talk about more but she was more interested on how sickening boats are. "Ahh, true. I've only been on a housebort for a week when it was quite rocky so my experiences would be quite different" she said letting her Finnish accent come through. She always had trouble saying boat and said "bort" instead.

A fish! Maybe. She reeled it in and it was indeed a fish. A small one which looked like a bream.

"All sorts of art! Mainly sketching, but all types!" She had left our playing the clarinet but it was music and art was more creative?

PatInTheHat 03-05-2012 01:54 AM

"You need the experience of a better boat with good fishing weather." He pause to glance at the one they were in. "This boat doesn't count." No, not nearly enough leg space, though he was managing for someone so tall. Brown eyes flicked back up to her as he readied his own fishing rod with practiced ease. "Your not from around here, are you?"

Oh look! She'd caught a little thing, he grinned at her. "Nice catch!"

Tossing his line in the water, he eased back and gave her his attention. Couldn't really just fish when he was on a date, could he? Too rude it would be.

"Do you sketch for a living?" Was she that type of artist or just a hobbyist?
