NOTE: If the person viewing this thread is, in any way, looking for sanity and seriousness... please look elsewhere. This RP is meant to be completely random and comical. Most of all: fun. ; )

PLOT:
The entire school, including all of the staff, has been put under some sort of spell that causes them to have hallucinations. It is an extremely powerful spell that was haphazardly cast by a wizard that was suffering from some sort of insanity (use your imaginations, you're writers). They have semi-consciousness of what they are doing, and are using that part of them to fight the spell to the best of their abilities.

Anything to be added beyond this scope is left to the discretion of the RP'er who is writing the responses. Seeing as this is INVITATION ONLY, I am trusting that all ideas will be interesting, even serious if you wish to forge into that.

However... there are rules to this RP that I would like to set forth.

RULES:

1. INVITATION ONLY. I, and my lovely assistant Tina, will be sending out PM's to those members who we deem qualified in ability to participate in such an obviously challenging RP subject. *nods*

2. Each post must contain at least one random object, person, or idea/though that is caused by the spell. (Note: Penguins and Squirrels are strongly encouraged, but not necessary, for the amusement of Tina. We won't nag you if you don't include a random object every post but this is just a reminder that this is meant to be random and funny).

3. Each post must be coherent and be left open for response. Meaning that it would be nice if we could all involve the other characters in different parts of the hallucinations. This is just common courtesy that one must show out of respect to other participants.

4. Any substances that would help the participants in reaching such a state of randomness is encouraged and most likely, necessary. e.g. soda, chocolate, coffee, all night-ers, etc.

5. Do not overuse OCC's or OOC's... whatever you want to call those, don't do many of them. They are irritating.

6. If you do not have fun, you need to excuse yourself from the RP immediately. A PM to me would be courteous and will not be taken to be offensive. This is simply because I would need to find a replacement to you darling invitees. : )

Another NOTE:

If you were not invited, and you want to join (granted you can write posts that are descriptive, accurate with what has been going on, and is, at least, somewhat grammatically correct...) then you may PM me with an example of your writing and I'll consider your request.

CHARACTERS:

Muahahaha. Yes! Now we move onward to the essential and most amazing part of this entire RP: the creation of your personal characters. You may, or may not, use the characters from the HP books. I prefer you don't, because the psychological mindset of the characters in the books are already well-known. I think it would be more fun to create your own characters, myself, BUT it's entirely the participants’ choice.

If you so happen to choose a HP character (which we don't advise) then you won't need to create a profile. However, you will need to comply with what we mentioned below.

As for personal madeup characters, everyone knows the drill: personality, background, family, name, etc etc. Everything that you would think is essential; put it down here.

Additionally, I would like you to include something more in your Bio’s. This little something extra will enhance our play and make it far more interesting than what I’ve put so far. ; )

1. Your characters personal OBSESSION. What does this mean, you may ask? Let me explain as best as I can. This will refer to that one thing in life that your character desires the most. It can be an object, a relationship with a particular someone (sexy, I know), a goal, etc.
How will this affect my character? This will affect what your character sees and how they perceive each hallucination. Essentially, this will be the “thing” that your character will strive for throughout the entire RP. Whether this character reaches it, or not, is entirely up to you. What is also up to you is how they come to achieve this outcome.

I wish this to be played upon rather slowly seeing as this will be the main goal of the RP. (You would think it to be getting out of the spell, wouldn’t you? WRONG). Human desire outweighs that; at least in this RP.

Another Note Explaining the Paragraph above:
Now, all the slow tards (Like the RQT ) who want to make sense of AAI's funkyy philosophical twist are probably going, "Human desire? Obession? Whatta?" The idea is pretty simple. Your character becomes two people. The hypnotized person enjoys this obsessive adventure toward pointless goals. Somewhat like Gollum from LOTR. However, the other part of you [dreamland you; reality-wise you /// How interrelated eh?] sees that it's turning you into blabbing bimbo and wants it to stop. So, it's an internal battle of some sorts. The two clash and makes for some pretty funkyy conversations and actions. Make sense? Any further questions should be asked via PM. Personality:
Kye is the quiet mysterious type and does not show his emotions easily. It takes a lot for him to crack. He like to paint, and is almost always seen with a paintbrush tucked behind his ear. He does not like people, but longs to be one of the crowd, thus making him a very messed up person.

Background:
Kye's background is shrouded in mystery, just like his personality. But we do know that he is Muggleborn, and thus knows all about Muggles and their Muggle ways. Kye is an only child, and his parents dote on him constantly. Despite being a middleclass family, Kye is treated, and acts like he's royalty.

Appearence:

Obsession: Kye is obsessed with the female species. He longs for a girlfriend, someone to treat like a queen, and every girl he sees, while in his messed up, alter-ego state, he thinks they secretly swoon over him, and thus he treats them like they are his queen. His goal in this is to find a genuine girlfriend, someone who will understand his obsessiveness.

Estelle is fairly moderate when it comes to her appearance. Unlike her twin sister, her wardrobe consists of ordinary clothing that enables her to blend in the crowd. Estelle tends to carry herself in a haughty manner with her head held high and eyes always looking straight ahead or else behind a book cover. Drawn to numerous athletics, Estelle strives for physical strength and is often times seen doing some kind of fitness. There are two ways to tell the twins apart. One would be in the way they walked, dressed, and talked and the final would be that Estelle has a birthmark barely visible on the side of her neck.

Background: Estelle comes from a small, ordinary, pure-blooded wizarding family. With a bubbly mother and bubbly twin sister, Estelle often feels like the black sheep in the family. She doesn’t enjoy the pointless banter of her mother and prefers conversing with her father about her problems. Thus, her way of looking at things resemble his views immensely. Although Estelle loves her sister very much and gets along with her fairly well, aside from their physical resemblance and their love of books, Estelle claims no similarities with Marguerite.

Personality: Estelle is very much like your every day Sagittarius. She has a passion for learning and is often found in the library with her nose in a book. However, Estelle isn’t a smart-alick like many members of her house claim to be. Although she may correct you if you’re wrong on some days, for the most part, she prefers to keep to herself and is extremely independent. She can be very blunt at times and lacks tact when it comes to everyday conversation. However, find a subject she’s passionate about and you won’t be able to keep your jaw intact. She’s a dreamer and is very motivated in achieving anything she deems worthy. Seeking the good in every situation, Estelle is considered an avid optimist and her unique ways will intrigue you.

Object; One of the biggest reasons Estelle pushes herself when it comes to fitness is that she has a fear of growing helpless and not being able to keep up with life. This isn’t your ordinary fear of something. Imagining herself growing old, ugly, and helpless is enough to knock the breath out of her and cause her to pass out cold. She’s rather intrigued with the muggle fairy tale “Snow White” and the spell will push her to try and find the magical mirror on the wall so that she can always keep a heads-up on her appearance. Hopefully she can come to realization that it’s not about physical attributes and that the heart is what keeps you alive.

Marguerite dresses for her mood. She is a very outgoing person and so likes to draw attention to herself by wearing things that are bright or unusual. Marguerite loves to read and is very active like her sister in numerous sports.

Background: Coming from a small pure-blood wizarding family. Marguerite had a happy child hood. Adored by her mother and by those around her she tended to be the life of the party. Though she has a twin sister, Estelle, it had always seemed like she received most of the attention in her youth which aided in giving her a rather rebellious streak along with a rather large ego. She loves her sister very much and is close with her but aside from a few of the same interests is completely different than Estelle.

Personality: Marguerite is a very friendly person and enjoys being around others. Though at times she does prefer to be by herself. She is a very big smart-alike, very sarcastic and a joker as well. Her antics usually land her in the center of attention as she has been her whole life and has no problems befriending anyone. She is a social giant while at the same time values her true close friends immensely, choosing to spend time with a few good friends rather than a group of people.

) Marguerite is obsessed with all muggle things. So much so that Muggle Studies is her favorite class. She is especially obsessed with muggle television and commercials. She "finds" some muggle electronics and searches all over the castle for an outlet and enlists the aid of her sister and a few muggleborns to help her with the task. Will she realize that there are no outlets? Will she realize that things aren't what they seem? Stay tuned and find out

Name: Epictetus [Epic]

Year and House: 5th Year Ravenclaw

Personality:

A very patient person by nature, he always himself time to decide on any one idea or impression. He believes that a person is always, and will always, be in control of themselves. Therefore, any actions that he may take have been taken after long and careful consideration. He spends most of his time following what passions he has in life, that is; writing and studying for classes in order to one day become a professor himself. More often than not, you will find him at the edge of the lake in a pace, talking to himself all the while. Hours are spent in such a state and few have questioned him over the behavior and thought it best to leave him to it. However, all that he does is in search of one true thing, and that only fuels his every action, which is his ‘obsession’ in life.

There are vices to him though, such as his tendency to become angered with people who fail to understand him, and when he deems that he has failed in reaching all his potential in any given act. This tact often leads him down the path that he eagerly wishes to avoid. In fact, the path that he is often led down is the one he writes and teaches against walking. What influences him is his parent’s desire for his intellectual growth and overall success in the world of learning and teaching. Failing them, in his current state of mind, would mean failing in his desire for his passions.

Background:

His parents were influential in the muggle world as professors of Philosophy (his father) and of History (his mother). Both were prominent in their respective fields and required him to attend lectures, at the University they both taught for, at a very young age. So, he grew up in the academic life and was bred for making that a lifetime commitment. At first he didn’t like being in the environment he was placed in or the people that were involved, but eventually came to love it even more than his parents did. Books were plentiful in his home and he had devoured each one using a system he developed for himself. At the age of 10 he was whisked away by a family friend in order to further his studies and attended some of the most world renowned academics in the fields he chose to pursue.

While on this journey he made it his purpose to further his understanding of philosophies, of life, and of ‘how’ to live. At this point he began writing many of his theories for all of the said and, as his knowledge and understanding expanded, continued to revise all these theories. It was one night, while he was at a desk frantically scratching out and rewriting his new thoughts, that there was a continued tapping at the window to his study. It turns out that it was his invitation to Hogwarts. Being introduced to a new challenge, and new areas of study, he readily accepted such an opportunity.

Appearance:

Being so involved in his studies, Epic did not participate in athletics or in many other physical activities instead spending much of his time inside a library or at his desk writing. Although this was the case, he did find time to exercise a few times a week to keep himself in relatively good shape. However, this isn’t to say that he was handsome or muscular. On the contrary, he was pale and scrawny, to the point where most all of his clothes looked oversized. To add to this, he was quite the short male in measuring just south of 5’5 and had black hair that went right below his ear and was considered to be stringy. His face lacked in fat and appeared to be quite hollow giving him a sickly appearance with eyes that were often above bags from the lack of sleep he got every night.

His outfits, as mentioned before, seemed to be oversized so he constantly tucked in his shirt in attempt to hide this fact. More often than not he wore what would be considered dress pants paired with a dark colored, button-up, collared shirt. Sometimes, he deemed himself brave and accompanied that outfit with a dark coat his father gave him before coming here that had golden buttons that went the length of his body and hung just above his ankles.

Obsession:

Epic refused to believe that there were no definite answers in life, that there was no definite happiness, but only illusions to any such thing. He sought answer to all of his questions. But the most elusive of them seemed to be whether or not he was right to analyze and be harsh upon himself for any ill fortune or lewd behavior on his part. For all his part, he did seem to be obsessed with being virtuous and when he failed to be, he would often punish himself in some way or another, or throw himself further into his studies in order to better understand where he went wrong. His search is not for good intentions however, because he does this only to better his parents, who said that he was wrong for thinking that he could become one of the most virtuous persons in the world. Proving them wrong, in his mind, would prove that he had succeeded in his education and in pleasing his parents. This was something that he must change in order to achieve his dreams; because the motivation for his actions does not align with what he seeks and it will be his downfall if he does not see this.

Name: Serena [Serie] Roberts

Personality:

You might think she’s the typical blonde with baby blue eyes, born into the most stereotyped family. The most popular and the most gorgeous girl in the school. Well, she’s not. I’m not saying Serena Roberts isn’t pretty and isn’t popular, but if you mistaken her for one of those ditzy blonde plastics than she’ll get in your face about it. She’s been called so many names by people that she won’t hesitate to retaliate. At certain points, she bound to call you names back or if you’re lucky she might just ignore you. Although if you mess with her close friends…well than you might wanna go look up some earlier funeral plans.

Her friends are the most important thing to her. Sure, it’s sounds cliché. But it’s true. They’ve always been there for her and her for them. No matter what. Whether it’s needing a person to listen to them or staying over at her house for a week or two. Some call her a social butterfly but she tries to deny it. Serena just likes to be friendly and talk to people. Another most important thing in her life is her studies. Working hard for exams and different homework assignments make her feel complete and satisfied with herself. Wanting a career so she can support her future lifestyle and family, she wants one of the best ones around.

So, you’ve heard her good qualities but not her bad ones. One of the negative traits about her would be the fact that she’s stubborn. So stubborn. Once she starts something, she has to complete it, no matter how sick of it she gets or if she even gets hurt in the process. Some may say it’s a good quality to have but others hate it. Saying she should give some stuff up but this only makes her more motivated to prove them wrong..

Background:

Serena comes from a very rich pureblood family. She is an only child and loves occupying the center of attention from her parents. At an young and tender age, she has already been placed in the spotlight with reporters wondering if she'll become a model like her mother or something with an exceptional job at the Ministry. Currently, she, herself has no idea what she wants to be.

When young she grew up with a few close muggle friends but was forced to leave them behind when her parents explained to her that she was different and was to go to Hogwarts, instead of the next public school like the rest of the neighbourhood.

Her family is into the pureblood purity but not so much as a few families her parents are friends with. Serena knows that if she does indeed choose to marry a muggle, her parents would slowly accept the fact, as long as she was happy.

Appearance:

Serena cares about her appearance to an extent. With her mother being a model and her father being a very public figure in the Ministry, she was always presented as their successful daughter, and of course having to look her best to impress.

She enjoys dressing up at times, going all out for special occasions but she’s not scared to dress down when she wants. Walking around with sweats and a plain old t-shirt is something she does when she’s doing homework in the common room.

Obsession:

Boys, boys and more boys. That's Serena's obsession. She loves them. Loves meeting them, loves flirting with them, and loves making them chase after her. It's her game. Something she excels at. The blonde is hard to keep single and her relationships don't last too long because she always spots another one that catches her eye.

But even though it's her obsession, she tiring of the boys at school. If she keeps this going, she'll have to start recycling old flings and boyfriends. She wants someone that she'll like so much that she won't stray away or get bored of the relationship.

Name: Olathe Orald
Year: Sixth
House: Slytherin

Personality:

In many ways, Olathe is not the typical Slytherin, though she possesses all the qualities that distinguish one: Ambition, a thirst for power, the desire to have control over others, over surroundings and over situations. She strives for success and, in the process, constantly seeks ways to better herself.

She does not hurt anyone on purpose, and without reason, but she does not forgive easily, either. Forgiveness does not, and can never, come naturally to Olathe. She seeks revenge, and makes sure she responds evenly to any injustice or harm done to her. Usually, she also stays away from all that is not her business but, when suspicious of something going against her, she will use all her uncanny, Slytherin abilities and skills to unearth the mystery, and find the root, cause and reason of it all.

Around friends, she is polite and merry, enjoying jokes, but she does not form friendships very easily, and can be rather dry and/ or enigmatic during first time meetings, or in the early stages of an acquaintance with someone. She is rude if someone is rude to her, and curt and harsh when she feels people are treating her unfairly.

She is also highly outspoken - outspoken to the point of plain bluntness - and does not care what others thinks of what she does or say. She acts as she wants to, not considering anyone's opinions or choices except that of very close friends and extremely loved ones.

Appearance:

Olathe is 5.5', and her hair is always changing colours - No, she is not a metamorphmagus. Rather, she dyes it. Her hair can be highly messy, sometimes, though she usually makes sure that there is not a single strand out of place. She has large, almond-shaped, silver eyes, which are her distinguishing and most remarkable feature.

Background:

Olathe comes from a rich, pureblood family, and is proud of her blood status, even though she does not very firmly believe in blood prejudices, and holds no real grudge against people with other blood statuses.

Her father works as an Unspeakable at the Ministry of Magic, while her mother experiments with Potions and the likewise during her hours at home. Their family i distantly of Eskimo origin, though the last three generations have remained settled in England. Her parents enjoy travelling, and so does she, and they are well known among the elite of the Wizarding world.

Obsession:

Five words: Olathe is obsessed with Quidditch. Quidditch in the morning, Quidditch in the evening, and Quidditch in the night: This is Olathe's love story, in brief. Sometimes, she gets up at four in the morning just to see how a broom ride at such a time will feel like - after having gone to bed at three in the morning, that is. She can skip her N.E.W.T's for a match of Quidditch, and this alarms her mother to the point of despair.

Olathe is always doubtful about her Quidditch skills. Always flying around the grounds, and around her home, has made her excellent at the sport, but Olathe neither understand, nor believes in, this. She thinks she lacks good Quidditch skills, and constantly practices to improve herself, but is always disappointed by the results.

People may think she wants to hear praise from others when, after a perfect landing, she exclaims how awful she is at the sport, but it is not really so: She truly believes she is useless at Quidditch, and can not help being woeful over this!

History: Gemini was the first born of a pair of identical twins, but her sister, Genesis died during birth. The doctors told her parents that there is always a higher risk of the second child dying during birth due to oxygen deprivation, but that didn't make the loss any easier on her mother and father, who both dealt with the death in different ways.

Her father dealt with it by lavishing enough love for two children on the one daughter he did have. Gemini was never spoiled, exactly, but she never wanted for anything as long as should could remember. Well, except for maybe the love of her mother.

Her mother, Gemini felt, always blamed her for her infant sister's death. She could hardly blame her. Gemini didn't know that she'd had a twin until she was twelve, but she blamed herself for what happened, no matter how little she could have helped being the baby born first.

Personality: Gemini makes friends easily because she is very observent and can adapt to the type of personality that she feels the person she's with at that moment would like for her to be. As a result, she doesn't really have a personality of her own and can come off as being a little bit two-faced and caught in mid-persona.

Outwardly, she is very friendly, excited, and bubbly. She likes to make people feel welcome wherever they are. Occasionally, however, if you let her by herself for too long, she'll disappear and you'll have a splendid time trying to find her. Truth is, she would rather be by herself but, ever the people-pleaser, she only sneaks away when she thinks no one notices.

Dedicated, goal-oriented, and undyingly loyal, Gemini often finds herself stepping into situations that are none of her business if it means she's taking care of a person or situation that's important to her. Outside of that, her true nature is to sit quietly and listen to the soothing sound of silence.

Obsession: Obviously a large part of her life, Gemini is obsessed with the death of her twin sister and her mother's approval. She has often felt that a part of herself has been missing, like she should be able to feel something that's absent from her life, which is probably a connection with the twin that never was. Tied in with that pain is the inability to understand why her mother can barely stand to look at her as though she was the only person who lost something when Genesis died.

Because of all this, Gemini is completely obsessed with pleasing everyone, not just her mother. Hopefully her hallucinations will help her see that it's important to understand that you can't make everyone happy all the time
