The main room of Madame Malkin's can quite easily be the most daunting prospect to a customer. Many racks of robes are arranged in a somewhat organized fashion, creating informal aisles leading around the shop, and interspersed among the racks are tables that hold hats, scarves and gloves. Upon exploration, however, you'll find that everything is essentially separated into categories. All of the Hogwarts items are in one area, and everything gets more expensive as it extends back toward the back wall of the shop. There is also a display on one wall, to the left of the main room, of pet collars and such.
Feel free to browse the merchandise, and the shopkeeper and shopkeeper assistant are available if help is needed.
OOC: FYI, shoes are not sold in this shop. I see a lot of people talking about full outfits and such involving shoes, but if you look here, you'll notice shoes are not included.
"Good!" Good thing she gave in! If she never experienced the fun of trying on ugly dresses today would have to be her first day. "Hmm I thing old woman who try to re-live their childhood memories through attending all of their grand children's parties and trying to act 'hip'" she said and laughed. A.K.A, her crazy grandmother she met last month. After that family reunion she realized why she never attended any in the past. "They have some pretty weird stuff here" she said as she picked up a hat with dark purple imitation peacock feathers fanning from the top.
Pam laughed. "I'm glad my grandma isn't that crazy!" But her grandma was pretty crazy. "She wouldn't wear this stuff!" Pam ruffled the peacock feathers on the hat. That would be cool to have a pen with. She had to remember to get a peacock quill before retearning to Hogwarts. She picked up a teal dress with purple sequins. "Crazy!" She held the dress up to herself and handed Elle the camera. "Take my picture!" She posed a crazy pose.
Ayumi had the rest of the day off to herself. Since she was pampering herself this time, she decided to shop for her necessities before going back to the muggle world. The weather after all is changing nowadays. So it's best if she readied herself for some scarves and gloves.
Entering the shop, Ayumi found her way over the display where all the robes, hats, scarves, etc are seen. It was all there. She felt like buying most of it. She strolled around and tried to find something pretty. Something she'd definitely wear a lot when she goes back to work.
Ohhh, how about these silk gloves. She eyed them first on one corner. She barely has pairs of gloves most of the time. But really? Silk? It's going to winter soon before she knows it and she's buying silk? Maybe, the knitted ones instead.

It had been a long time coming, but Sylvie knew this was the place she needed to be. Of course, she hadn't set foot in this shop in years. She was drawn to it and she had a feeling she knew why. Only because she was gone, didn't mean that she was complete clueless to what her fool of a twin was up to in her absence.
Stepping into the shop, she dusted off the snow on her cloak and made her way to the display. In her absence, she knew Seb had lost sight of how he was meant to look and she could not allow that to continue on. He's recent attempts to be fashionable were decent, but she knew that she had returned just in time to help her twin. He wasn't getting any younger and it was time for him to actually meet new people.
Scanning the racks, she spotted a few that would look rather dashing on her brother and that was a start. Pulling a few of the robes out to get a close look, she glanced around a bit. It was a fairly quiet day in Diagon Alley and her mind wandered for a moment before returning to her task at hand.

As usual, things were rather quiet in Diagon Alley, and even more so in Madame Malkin's. For that reason, Aliceara had let Camelia have the day off, and was manning the shop on her own again. Or, on her own except for the ever-present Alexander the kneazle. He was curled up in the back asleep, though, as she took a break from working on new merchandise to check on the shop. She didn't figure anyone was going to be there, but it didn't hurt to check anyhow. The very idea that nobody needed new robes in the winter was rather ridiculous anyway, even if the past few years had tried to prove it wasn't. She'd thought she'd heard the door open, so double-checking the floor it would be. Especially on the odd chance the cultists hadn't all been taken care of during that fight at the Ministry, and the door had heralded a new wave of vandalism.
Luckily, it hadn't, as all she saw upon slipping through the curtain blocking off the back room was a woman browsing the racks. Curiosity set in as she noticed exactly what area the woman was in, however, and she wandered closer. It didn't look like she was having any difficulty deciding what she wanted, but perhaps she could help with anything else. It wouldn't hurt to at least let her know that someone was there. "Welcome to Madame Malkin's," she said with a smile as she came up to the customer. "Can I help you with anything?"

Sylvie continued to flip through the select at her leisure. She would looked first for her brother and move on to perhaps getting a few things for herself. Seb had always mentioned how he seemed to find the perfect things for her there, if only he had the same luck for himself. She knew this was the only place he got his robes, that was pretty evident when she 'glanced' through his closet upon returning home. She really must have inherited the fashion gene or something. His robes weren't at all out of style and from the looks of it, he had a lot of them' it was just that nothing really stood out and now that she was back, she wanted for her twin to be as happy as she once was. It didn't take a genius to figure out why he might possible have so many robes and little to no where to really wear them. He was trying to perhaps impress someone or there was someone here in Diagon Alley that he fancied. She was leaning toward him fancying someone but the way he reacted to her announcement of going shopping today.
Glancing down at her watch, she smirked. She had really expected him to come and try to retrieve her by now. Maybe her brother had finally learned that it was just better to allow her to do what was needed and not fight against her. Spotting a nice set of dark navy robes, she pulled them out and raised them up to the light. Yes, these would do well with his eyes. Seb was after all a very handsome guy, if only he would allow himself to meet new people. She figured he was just sheltering himself after her disappearance, but she was back now and there was no reason for him to now be out and a bout again.
Lowering her arm, she looked toward the voice and smiled. "Hello, I'm just looking for a few things for my brother," she replied. "He's in need of a few new items to add to his wardrobe and he can't stop talking about how much he loves the robes from here." Well, maybe he had never said such things to her per say; but if the sheer number of Madame Malkin's robes Seb owned was any indicator, he liked something about the shop very much.

While waiting to see if the woman needed any help, Aliceara let her blue eyes scan the robes that had already been selected. Understandably, given the area they were currently standing in, they were quite obviously not for personal use. Which, honestly, reminded her of someone else and their tendency of coming in for gifts. Well, gifts and a few other things, which was the other interesting part of this. Namely, the color of said robes that had been lowered reminded her of some she had suggested to Sebastien the last time he'd been in. That reminded her that she hadn't seen him lately, as well, but by then, it seemed her polite greeting had been acknowledged and she smiled at the woman again.
"Your brother," she repeated, nodding slightly. Even as the pieces of the puzzle started to click in her mind, she made the decision not to ask. Not quite yet, at least, on the odd chance she was wrong. It wouldn't be the first time, and besides, she had quite a few return customers. Granted, the robes didn't look like they were for a student, which was the bulk of her clientele, but it was always a possibility. There had been a few last summer who had been taller than her, after all. "I'm glad to hear that," she added simply. "If you don't mind me asking, what's your brother's name? It's possible if he's been in before, I'd be able to assist you better." Okay, she was testing to see if she was right in her guess. She was assuming the woman wouldn't know that, however.

Sylvie was rather proud that she had made it this long without Seb barging in, considering the amount of complaining he had thrown at her at the mention of doing a little shopping and stopping in to a certain new shop in Diagon Alley. Of course, she only had the best intentions when it came to Seb. He was after all her brother and she did only want to see him happy again. Her disappearance had done a number on him and it was the least she could do to make it up to him now. She wasn't as terrible as she used to be in their youth and she saw a chance to attempt to make certain things right by him. It was a start in her mind at least. If she could make sure he was happy, she wouldn't feel so bad about the happiness that she was starting to find in her life again.
"Yes, he's a bit hopeless at time. I do believe that I got the fashionable gene," she smiled as she reached for another set of robes. They were simple and she knew that he would put up a fight if she got anything too fancy. Dare she say, she was probably the more adventurous one as well. Looking back from the robes, she smiled. "Sebastian. He's a rather handsome chap." She did know he hated that she referred to him like so, but she did enjoy talking her twin up like so. If he wasn't going to advertise himself, it was a job that would lie with her. "He only talks about how much he must get all his robes here and only here, the best robes in the country; I've heard him say." She couldn't argue with that at all, considering the shoppe was the only place she did get her robes in England. "I don't believe he's been in the last few months, but I'm thinking he's been in a number of times from the look of his wardrobe." He's most recent sets of robes looked like they were last season at the latest.

It had been a long time coming, Bryant knew that eventually he was going to have to going shopping for a new set of work robes since the last time he had worn his were at least five years ago and he knew they didn't fit right any longer. It wasn't about spending the money on new work robes but the process it took to buy them. He hated having to go into a shop and search around only to have to go try things on and make sure they fit.
Trying not to get too bummed out about having to go shopping, Bryant entered into Madam Malkins' shop and began to browse around in search for new work robes.

Blair needed new robes. But the biggest problem was she wasn't sure what department she was going to be working in, if any for that matter. But then again, she needed new robes period, seeing as every one of hers had wholes in the them.
More to the point, she preferred to wear Muggle clothing because it was easier to work around in the wild with. Blair gave a heavy sigh and entered the shop, ready to spend the entire day in here. It would for sure take at least two hours to get everything she needed. Plus she had to pick Cora up at the baby sitters in three. So that gave her a little bit of a time limit.
Blair picked out some robes that were a deep purple color. Royal purple her parents always called it. And noticing a man, she couldn't resist an opinion. "What do you think?" She said flashing the robe in his direction. "Is it my color?"

Bryant had found a set of deep blue robes that he actually kind of fancied and had pulled them off the rack to inspect them further. He was about to turn and head to the fitting rooms to try them on and see if they fit properly when someone spoke tom him.
"Uh." Bryant began, slightly taken off guard. He hadn't really expected anyone to ask his opinion on robes, let alone women's robes. He looked at the purple robes the woman was holding and looked at the woman herself. "The color looks good." He commented, not exactly sure what she wanted him to say. He didn't really know what the difference a color of a set of robes had to do with anything.
"What about mine?" He asked holding up the blue robes he had found. "How do they, uh, look?" He questioned trying to make some sort of conversation with the women. Who knew, maybe she'd be helpful in finding new robes.

Oh boy, what had Blair gotten herself into now. She often scared people that way. That again came from little to no human contact over the past five years. You tend to loose some manners when all you've been doing is working with animals your whole life.
Well at least they looked good on her.....well wait, he probably was just saying that because she was a strange woman asking a strange question. What man wouldn't lie about it to be honest. Jeez, she would just have to purchase them and hope for the best.
Hanging the robes around her arms she began to look in the racks again. Then the man asked her. "Blue is very pretty with your eyes." She added blushing, 'Jeez Blair' She thought her to herself. 'Get it together' Again she said to herself shaking her head and knowing that her cheeks were ten shades of red.

Pretty with my eyes? What does that mean? Bryant questioned himself. He cleared his throat, "Well, thanks." He said flashing her one of his bright dashing smiles. "I wasn't for sure." He admitted, "I don't care for shopping for clothes." He said shrugging his shoulders. "I kind of just pick something and hope it fits." He added on. TYPICALMAN.
Shuffling the robes over to his left arm, he stuck out his right hand. "I'm Bryant." He introduced with another smile.

"Me either to be honest, most of my robes are full of bite marks." She added, whatever, no big deal, all in the work. Blair smiled and looked at a set of robes of pink. "What about Pink?" She asked, not sure what to make of it yet, she was leaning more towards no.
"Nice to meet you Bryant." She added shaking his hand. "Blair." She said in response as to what her name was. She then pulled out the pink robes to flash them about, maybe once they were off the hanger they would look better. "Too flashy you think?"

Full of what? Bite marks? "Bite marks? From the pet dog I hope." He chuckled, this woman was an interesting one for sure.
Bryant watched as she pulled out another set of robes, these ones were pink. He immediately shook his head in response, partially because he didn't like the color pink on women but also because it just didn't look like it would go well with anything.
"Blair?" He questioned. "That's my last name. Bryant Blair." He laughed, who would have thought.
"I say no to the pink." He confirmed with a smile, hopefully she wouldn't get mad or anything at his opinion.

"Agreed no pink." Blair said placing it on back on the rack. She combed through a few more colors not finding anything she liked really. And then after a few second delay she fully understood what Bryant and just said.
"Oh goodness!! That is so cool" She replied, freaking out a little, what a small world this really was. "If we got married I'd be Blair Blair." she said and she began to laugh so hard she snorted. And there wen the redness in her cheeks again.
Bryant was pleased with himself, he managed to talk a woman out of buying a set of pink robes, he should get a medal for that or something. He just saved a lot people from having to look at something potentially quite harmful to someone's eyes. Today was an accomplishing day for one Bryant Blair!
"How bizarre would that be?" He laughed with her, he couldn't imagine having to write that paper work. Brant couldn't help but smile at Blair, she was pretty adorable when she laughed, even when she snorted.
"So, what will Miss Blair be doing tonight at, oh I don't know seven?" He asked with a smile. Bryant wouldn't mind taking her out for dinner, provided she would say yes. He hoped his dazzling smile would sway her towards saying yes.

Blair recovered quickly, and Bryant was gentleman enought to not comment on her snort. Okay good, she was doing okay. At least she thought she was. The more time she spend with humans the more she realized how out of touch with reality she really was.
Jeez, she sounded like she was from outer space or something. Blair continued to look throught the racks of robes trying to find something suitable. And then, Bryant asked her out on a date....at least....Blair thought that's what he said.
She started to sweat just a little. Hopefully he didn't noticed, and seeing as her heart rate jumped to about 150 beats per minuets, she was sure it didn't go completely unnoticed, anyone with ears could hear the way it was pounding. "ummm...." She was stuttering now to, the man would run in the other direction if she didn't answer so.
"Yes," Blair blurted out nearly shouting in the process.

Bryant watched Blair to see if she was going to turn him down, he'd then be able to say something witty and act like he was just going to say something else after all. He noticed that she became slightly clammy and had kind of frozen up in the body like a tree rooted to the ground.
"Yes as in "yes I have something planned" or yes as in "yes I have nothing planned"?" He asked her, she must have not heard exactly what he had said, but that was alright.

....wait what? Now Blair was freaking out even more. Did she not ear what he had said. Jeez Louise. She was a nut case. Blair tried to play it cool though, like she was the coolest kid on the block. NOT. She finally stopped combing through the racks and turned to face him.
It was the first time she stood eye-to-eye with him. She noticed him right of the bat of course, she was observant like that, but usually it didn't spend this much time talking to some one. She took a steadying breath. "I have nothing planned, and I'd loved to go out with you this evening." BOOM!! There she had done it, answered him like an adult and everything.
Blair was getting good at this talking to people thing!

Bryant couldn't do anything but smile, "You read my mind." He commented with a wink of one of his chocolate brown eyes. "Seven o'clock, meet me in front of the restaurant across from the Ministry?" He asked smiling from ear to ear.
You've just asked a woman you met while shopping on a date, good one Bryant. He thought to himself, there was a first for everything, right? If anything, Bryant wasn't necessarily looking for a long term relationship but a good friend. He was just going to wait and see where things went.

Anton made his way into the robe shop, carefully squeezing himself through the people. He needed to purchase himself some robes, but there were so many people. And when it came to clothing, he didn't even know where to begin finding the robes he needed. He couldn't even tell what was what! The boy being colorblinded, everything looked the same to him on the racks. All the clothing blurred together.
Which ones was he supposed to buy? He didn't want to look like a loser when he started Hogwarts, or a misfit. That would give people even more 'cause to hate the already dull little boy.
Besides, he looked silly enough in his muggle wear he knew. With his jeans, and a bright red shirt laid under a orange and purple striped one.

After shopping at the apothecary Nate went into Madame malkins. He looked down at his list to see what he needed for his second year at hogwarts. He needed:
Quote:
1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One winter cloak (black with silver fastenings)
4. Three white shirts for boys or blouses for girls
5. Two grey sweaters, vests or cardigans
6. Two charmable ties in house colours
7. One charmable winter scarf in house colours
8. Two pairs of trousers or shorts for boys, or skirts for girls
9. Three pairs of white knee socks or black wool stockings for girls, or grey knee socks or black ankle socks for boys.
So now he had to look around for the stuff he would need. He decided to start with finding the hats and shirts. So he started looking around for the three plain black work robes. He started searchin for them. Then he saw them. He picked out three of them that looked like they would fit. After he found that he searched a winter cloak. They were near by so he grabbed one of those. Then he went searching for the white shirts. It wasn't long until he found those. Then he saw that the sweaters were next to them so he grabbed a sweater. To finish the upper half of his body he searched for the hat. He then found a hat so he grabbed it.
After he found that stuff he found the ties and scarves were close by. So he walked over and grabbed two ties (charmable in house colors) and a winter scarf (charmable in house colors.) He was now after the trousers. He searched all around for them. Then he finally found them right next to the socks. He grabbed two pairs of trousers and three black ankle socks. Finally he was almost done here. He just had to go check out, then he would be finished with buying clothing.

With a little hop in her step, Brooklyn made her way into Madam Malkins. She wasn't exactly in need of new robes or anything, but she did know she kind of wanted to get new scarves and things to wear come winter. Though.. summer had only just come.
Despite this, Brooke became slightly side-tracked when her eyes caught sight of a young boy. A young boy who definitely stood out in a crowd. The blond couldn't help but stifle a giggle. It was really cute after all.
So, without further ado, she approached him. Bending down slightly, she spoke, "I really like your outfit," she said softly, with a grin.

Anton tugged on the ends of his red shirt, bringing his hand up to his mouth and biting it nervously. Why didn't anyone from his family come with him? He would even take having Felix with him as company right now. And being with his brother wasn't usually a good thing...the other Holdenson male didn't like him much.
Mean little brother.
Ant stared harder at the long lines of clothing, before he could hear a voice beside him and he jumped slightly, turning to look at the girl. At least...she didn't seem like she was going to eat him or anything.
Smiling shyly, he glanced down again at the clothing he was wearing, before looking back at her. "Thank you...my sister said it looked dumb." She'd made sure to tell him that FIRST thing. And she'd wanted to help him change, but he insisted he was eleven now and could do it himself.

Brooklyn smiled. He looked.. kind of alone. And the boy definitely looked too young to be alone. Though- Brooke wouldn't comment on that. It wasn't exactly her business to. But then again.. maybe his relatives were off buying stuff for him? Curiosity getting the best of her, "Are your relatives off buying stuff for you?" She really need to learn to mind her own business.
She watched him bit his hand, not sure why he might do that. It was.. kind of weird. Sure, she'd seen kids bite their shirts, or zippers of their jackets, but never themselves. Well.. except for when people bit their lips. That was different.
A grin rose the the seventeen year old's face. "I think your sister might be wrong. Your outfit's very-" What was it? "Very bold, i think. It's cool." Definitely not something she'd wear, but on him, it was adorable.
