| | | Madam Malkin's Employees (AVVY MAKERS ONLY) Due to popular request, I've decide to start a help thread for avatar makers so we can discuss issues that arise. Rules: 1) To post in this thread, you must have your own thread in Madam Malkin's. 2) You can bring up topics like stealing work, stealing bandwith, people that request the same thing in multiple threads, etc. 3) Try to help each other out with problems so we won't have to bother the mods about everything.
I was thinking that we could also exchange ideas and sites, as well. It's interesting to know how other people work, and I have no problem with giving tips. | I mostly use the brushes that came with the program, but Teh Indy, Echoica and Miss M have really good ones! Also try experimenting with the layer type to get cool effects. Might do a tutorial on that if people don't really understand what I'm talking about. (I was on the phone with Mer for like 20 minutes trying to get her to figure it out! hehehe I love you Mer!!) |

| So what do y'all think would be a great icon maker for me to use? I hated my other one I forgot what it was called, but I got rid of it and thought I should get a different one. |

| Hm.. Adobe works well for me since I'm used to the program. It's always good to start with programs low on the food chain so then when you get a better one you can appreciate it more and will learn new stuff. Ooo, I'm so excited with the new Krum picture that just came out! I've wanted to make so many Krum avvies, but there's never been any pics. |

| I've tried to download the brushes and to extract them into the right file in photoshop9, but it doesn't seem to work, probably 'cause I'm using the free trial version. Does anyone know what is the approx. price of photoshop 9? I would like to buy the program 'cause I've only 'bout 20 days left to my trial period...
That would be very useful, thank you. |

That would be very useful, thank you. | There's no such thing as PS 9, love. But here's PS Creative Suite, which is the latest version.
If you meant PaintShop Pro 9, go here. Quote: |

Someone has been rating all the threads down. Sorry to hear that it has happened to you as well. You do outstanding work. Just keep up the good work and all will prevail! |

| Ah, yes, HP_Gem54, the banner was for one of the mods who just retired from SS. She was one of the most prominent in MM's and was in charge of pretty much all of this. |

| Ahem. Yep I meant Paint Shop 9. Sorry guys.
Thanks a lot for finding me the price of PSP! That's pretty expensive, but not as much as I was expecting. What is the best price/quality program out there in your opinion, guys? |

I didn't know there were some on the Internet. I'll try to find some but I guess they won't be working as well as the real program. |

| Hey all - I was wondering how to get this text effect where it looks like the words are on pieces of paper or tape? I dunno if you guys know what I mean...? I've tried with different effect, layer styles and filters, but nothing works! Please and thanks! |
