| | | Madam Malkin's Employees (AVVY MAKERS ONLY) Due to popular request, I've decide to start a help thread for avatar makers so we can discuss issues that arise. Rules: 1) To post in this thread, you must have your own thread in Madam Malkin's. 2) You can bring up topics like stealing work, stealing bandwith, people that request the same thing in multiple threads, etc. 3) Try to help each other out with problems so we won't have to bother the mods about everything.
I was thinking that we could also exchange ideas and sites, as well. It's interesting to know how other people work, and I have no problem with giving tips. You mean a pirated copy? I thought you could only download it off the internet as a trial, or buy it and download it for $50...it'd be awesome if you find a way around that! |

See now I have to find that crack thing for you I think that Ulead was ok..my friend did mine... I used to have photoshop 8 and I thought I had cracked it butit was a dud so it tricked me. Oh well, I still need to ask my friend |

Then, use the pencil tool, set it at 1pxl, draw a point in the first corner, hold your mouse down, press the shift key and drag your mouse down/up/across. Lather, rinse, repeat. Lol, is that clear enough...? Quote: |

(I'm hopeless when it comes to computers :/) | Oooh I envy you! The best way to acclimate yourself to anything new is to read the handbook, then dive right in. Experiment experiment experiment. I'm sure Morgue and Kat can agree with me when I say that we learn new things about our program every day. If you need further assistance, I know Jamie (Unidentified101) uses PSP9. Cheers!
And animation tutorial coming when the river of homework is crossed...sorry! |

Another good tip is to look at really really good avatar makers and get a few ideas. (Don't ever steal though!!) I get some ideas from tehindy. It just how to align the text or gradients to use, whatnot. But experimenting is so much fun and it helps you bond with your program. I recommend to first know your program before downloading brushes and stuff (I heard PSP9 has some great ones!!). |

And animation tutorial coming when the river of homework is crossed...sorry! | Absolutely. I just try every effect possible and learn what different things will do to a pic and I have learned so much just by experimenting. And LU's right I learn something new everytime I use it. Happy experimenting. |

By the way, who else, besides me, sends random people PMs when you notice they've been changing them at their own leisure? I think we should start cracking on sig rule-breakers more often.
And I've been way too busy to type up that animation tutorial; I wanted to do a bunch of screencaps with it showing certain steps...so maybe by this weekend? I'm really sorry! |

I just find it annoying that people were just so lazy to check the size and dimensions of their images before putting them on, their foolish attitide and lazyness to check these are the reason for such strict guidelines and mods having to apply our siggies for us. | |

| | | ARGH!!! I was just in the 'series of unfortunate events movie thread, and i saw that a person called HP301 was using the 2nd pic of my sig as their avatar. It is the exact same thing, but the person made it look thatched. http://www.snitchseeker.com/vb3/imag...ine=1105020869
I am so angry. How dare he/she take my work that i have spent half an hour making, and without even asking. I'm going to pm it (HP301), only before i tell a mod and get that person a warning!!! Do you think i'm being too harsh on him/her? I doubt that it would get a warning. Oh well.

I know that I can screencap from Quicktime, but that's about it.
Sorry for HP301 taking your avvy! I guess it shows how good your work is! |
