Due to popular request, I've decide to start a help thread for avatar makers so we can discuss issues that arise.
Rules:
1) To post in this thread, you must have your own thread in Madam Malkin's.
2) You can bring up topics like stealing work, stealing bandwith, people that request the same thing in multiple threads, etc.
3) Try to help each other out with problems so we won't have to bother the mods about everything.
I was thinking that we could also exchange ideas and sites, as well. It's interesting to know how other people work, and I have no problem with giving tips.

The 'vote for SS' thing is a link that Ty or another mod will put in to HPANA Topsites and/or Ranklists so SS members can vote for SS to keep it at number one. Just to help out the site and all...full explanation can be found in the sig thread.

I encourage you guys to enter icontests @ LJ. They're great fun, and you'll be up against really talented graphics geeks. You'll have to have an LJ account, but I guess you could just turn it into a graphics journal (which is sometimes what mine is). They definitely force you to become better so you keep up with the competition, trust me.
Love all the entries for LotA! If you haven't already entered, please do.

Alzheimer's isn't so bad...don't make fun of me! Don't worry, I'm a bit young to suffer from memory loss; I just have a poor one to begin with.
Julie, it sounds like your community is just for advertising...could you make it so it's like hpicons, where members can post icons? I'm active on LJ, but not all of my entries are graphics-related...though I post avatars/icons from time to time, when they build up a good bit. Also, I don't let just anyone read my LJ, since it contains a lot of personal and opinionated entries...I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with posting it in your community, where people will want graphics and not graphics (if you know what I mean).
It'll just be hard to make the community grow through affiliated advertising, and even if it does, viewers will have to look through lots of posts to find the earlier graphics journals that are probably as good as the more recent ones (meaning that the older ones will be forgotten).
And ignore this, please, if it's totally against what you were aspiring to in the first place. If you're not totally ready to chop my head off, then can we talk about it some more? It could be a ton of fun! Also, could I co-mod? | |

On no its for anything. Its like hp_icons except you can post tutorials and ask questions on top of being able to post icons. Its a place for hp_graphics makers to come and talk graphics. And you don't have to post a link to your journal if you don't want to. That is only if you have a graphics journal or you really want too. Those first posts are just for members to post to that if they want. Then they can start posting there questions, tutorials, etc...And sure you can be a co-mod! That'd be great! Also I am trying to find a way to get more members...Any suggestions?
