| | | Madam Malkin's Employees (AVVY MAKERS ONLY) Due to popular request, I've decide to start a help thread for avatar makers so we can discuss issues that arise. Rules: 1) To post in this thread, you must have your own thread in Madam Malkin's. 2) You can bring up topics like stealing work, stealing bandwith, people that request the same thing in multiple threads, etc. 3) Try to help each other out with problems so we won't have to bother the mods about everything.
I was thinking that we could also exchange ideas and sites, as well. It's interesting to know how other people work, and I have no problem with giving tips. | OK. XD this is my first tutorial, hope it makes sense!!
1. Type the text on top of the picture.
2. Go to the layers palatte and make a new layer between the text and picture.
3. Take a paintbrush and draw on the newly made layer
4. You can mess with the opacity and the color to make it match and look funky! Click to see what your layers palatte should look like when you finished these steps!
and voila! You get a background behind the text! Finished Product: |

| Here you go HermyOneGranger! This is for the polaroid effect. (All of these are quite simple really)
1. Gather you pictures and make them as big as you want your photograph inside to be.
2. Make a new layer behind each picture.
3. In the new layer, use the rectangle tool to draw a white rectangle around the picture in the polaroid shape.
4. Merge each layer with it's corresponding rectangle.
5. Now you can apply bevels to the photographs to make them pop out of the background. STEP 2 STEP 3 STEP 4
Finished Product: |

| I usually just make a border using a few brushes and the opacity level. Or I just fill a new layer on top and erase some parts out. |

| ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Christian's leaving (sort of)! We'll miss you!!!
Congrats to Christian, Trisha, and Lauren for getting awards at LotA! Could I possibly ask you to advertise by using your banner in your signature for a little while? Pretty please, lol? OH and I'm making the banners for the next challenge...make sure you enter! The initial turnout was great, and we've got to keep it going. I also submitted a news story for LotA. Hopefully they'll put it up soon in the Daily Prophet.
Alright, that's all for now...I'm ubermad at Morgue.
