| Madam Malkin's Employees (AVVY MAKERS ONLY) Due to popular request, I've decide to start a help thread for avatar makers so we can discuss issues that arise. Rules: 1) To post in this thread, you must have your own thread in Madam Malkin's. 2) You can bring up topics like stealing work, stealing bandwith, people that request the same thing in multiple threads, etc. 3) Try to help each other out with problems so we won't have to bother the mods about everything.
I was thinking that we could also exchange ideas and sites, as well. It's interesting to know how other people work, and I have no problem with giving tips. | I'd like to say that this is a good topic to start. One thing I find that is a problem, is finding avatars that support certain ships. I found Harry/Ginny pics were easy to find, but that's all. Are there any links I should know about for my topic? It's called Pictures for Everyone if there are any questions. |

I am not sure what photo program you use, but with Photoshop Elements 2.0 you can cut certain images out and make new images with them. I hope this was somewhat helpful. |

| I see problems with people not having their pictures. I know the person who makes it thinks its alright, but I think that if you want an avatar you should post a picture and tell them what you want it to be like. And I really hate when people aren't specific! That drives me off the edge. |

It's called Pictures for Everyone if there are any questions. | I found good sites that have tons of ready-to-go avatars, but posting it here's really not fair for the avvy makers who do everything from scratch here in Madam Malkin's. Like HermyOneGranger said, you can do your own manipulations/blends with programs like Photoshop, PaintShop, PhotoStudio, and most other photo and graphics editing programs. Want some links to free trials? Quote: |

Especially when they're like, "make something with a beach in it," and you're not sure if they want an avatar or signature, or what text to put on it if any at all, and what picture of a beach to use. There're thousands on the Internet, and some people can be picky about their pics. I usually ask them to clarify or warn them that they're giving me artistic liscence when they're being too vague.
Glad this is popular already!

| Is anyone else miffed that someone called roby has been putting the link to her Photobucket in our threads? She's done it in my and Morgana's thread, and in lovelyxluna's too. I think it's rather rude, since they're our threads, and we work so hard on making our graphics and then she comes in to show off. I want to tell her off, but how do I keep it from getting too mean?

-Lu | be firm but dont be rude. is she putting her images in your threads? well if i were you i would warn her and if she does it again then tell a moderator.
What i hate is when people request avatars and they never use it, i know they might not be using it in snitchseeker, but i would like to see people using my sigs and avatars on this site. do you get what i mean? |

She put a link to her PB and told people to take whatever they like.
And yeah, I hate it when people request tons of stuff to keep you busy and never end up using them...I put up a notice in my and Morgana's thread saying that we weren't going to continue making things for people who don't use them, and I put it in my rules on the first page of our thread..though no one ever reads them. It's awesome when people do use your stuff, though. It advertises for you! And there are people who use your stuff and keep coming back, and I love those people forever.

Where else can i get a good avie maker | A flipbook animated avatar? I know PSP9 has that capability, and Ulead GIF Animator 5 does too. |

I use Adobe Photoshop, and it has a .gif animator, as does PaintShop, etc. You could check your manual to see if your program can animate. What program is it? |

| I used to use PhotoStudio! Ah, Morgana knows how deeply in love I was with it! Sadly enough, I know for certain that it doesn't have animation capabilities. You could always download a trial version of PSP or Ulead. Want the link? |

| Lol, it's their loss if they don't check as often as they should. Good way to keep your Photobucket account clean, though. |

| That is a nice way to keep it clean, but it's weird when I enter an old avvie maker's site and see all the pics but they have the x. There's responses like "Wow good job" or "That's gorgeous" but then I feel kind of awkward since I can't see any of them. And for finding pictures, I just type it up in Google (gotta love that). But I don't like it when the person doesn't know what they want it to say because I'm horrible at catch phrases and what not. |

| I also find it hilarious when I'm asked to make a avvy with pictures and whatnot, but the words are lyrics to a song and I have no idea what the song is. Hehehe, I made this one for someone (can't remember, it was a long time ago) and she wanted it to say "My Boo" a lot and some other stuff and a few days ago I heard the song and it was scary. I didn't know it was a song, but I knew half the words.... |
