Hmm.. That's a hard one. Obviously, my immediate reaction is 'You have got to be joking! Remus would never do a thing like that!' But... I do not think he would go over to the side that killed three of his best friends - the only people who really understood him - and changed his other friend into a Dark person/rat. I doubt that the Dark side would change powerful werewolfs into humans - they'd loose their sharp teeth!

I believe he misses being a full human, and as for sacrificing Tonks' love to be human... I believe that maybe he might, having had nothing really in his life apart from his friends; this could also not happen... I don't really know - but I do know that Lupin could never be a traitor.

Good point. I, for some reason, am sure that Jo Rowling is planning some thing for Remus. It might not be becoming evil exactly but perhaps coming under the imperius curse, and really needing to be human again. He's often said that he misses being human and with what he says to Tonks, it seems like he thinks that he is below humans as a werewolf. I some how think that Remus will either sacrifice something for being fully human, loss his life or perhaps even surrender himself for someone or another.

I really hope J.K Rowling doesn't kill him off - as for sacrifcing something... That seems very possible. But Harry said he didn't want anyone else sacrifice themselves for him - I doubt he'd let Remus (the last faithfull friend of his dad's) to do that.

You never know, JK Rowling might put it in for some drama!

What you've said does makes sense, except how can Remus be a mentor to Harry when he is stuck in an underground forest with a group of deranged werewolfs? Well, I say deranged because some of them have *cough* strange ideas...

Yeah...it's a bit hard of Remus and Harry for that matter....for some reason I think he might, just, crack. Don't get me wrong I looooove Remus it's just the sort of twist I think Jo would decide to put into DH....strange ideas?

Strange ideas like werewolves must avenge themselves on Wizards and Witches by biting them all - ideas like that. Hmmm.. Remus, crack? Well, that seems like an idea JK would think of, and now I think about it I'll list some of the pressure's on Remus.

1)Remus doesn't have a job, and probably feels that he is a burden on everyone.

2)Remus has to try to keep his relationship with Tonks together, even though it must be really hard for him as he thinks he just isn't good enough, etc.

3)Remus has to go live with werewolfs who mostly support Voldemort, and that could turn on him and kill him without warning if they wanted.

4)Alot of Wizards/Witches think he is a half breed low life, and treat him like that. This would make Remus feel very unwanted, a thing of discust etc. (Which he most certainly isn't!!!!!)

5)Remus probably feels very alone, as James and Lily are dead, Sirius is dead, Dumbledore (the man who did so much for him) is dead, and Peter is a traitor.

6)Remus probably feels a burden or such to look out for Harry - his friends' son. This could lead to him being maybe over-protective, and feeling that he needs to constantly be there for Harry even when he can't.

7)Remus probably needs someone to relate to. He probably doesn't want to burden Tonks, defiantly doesn't want to burden Harry (who he probably thinks he shouldn't be a figure to, because other Wizards/Witches look down at him), and doesn't want to burden anyone else.
(I'd give him my owl adress and he could tell me all his woes all day if he wants!)

it could be a possibility that Remus is a traitor, as much as i hate saying this. Because he knows SO much about the good guys and spends a lot of time with that were-wolf, greyback. I honestly DON'T want him to be a traitor but it could very well happen. He is also very close to Harry and Voldemort might want to use him to his advantage.

Although there is the aspect that Lupin would do absolutely ANYTHING to keep Harry safe rather then betray him. So i mean, i really don't want him to be a traitor and right now, i really don't think its possible but you never know with JK.

^^ Urm, I think you just about got all of it! It really is very, very hard on him. He has all of those things to deal with and maybe a little or a lot of self-doubt that could change him or lead to his death.

^Yes. If Voldemort was despirate...he could use legimency at a time when Remus is vunerable to extract information about the good side from him and Remus might just become an involuntary traitor! I never thought about that!

If Remus died - no matter which way - or if he betrayed them - involintarily or *hating to say this* otherwise... Then I would personally stake a full blown attack - in my head of course - against the person that hurt Remus!!!!! As for self-doubt... Well, Remus has alot of that, but in the third film Remus said to Harry on that bridge:

I believe these simple words could keep Remus together - unfortunatley they were said only in the film and JK might have chosen to ignore that...

Well, Sirius falling through drapery might mean he is with James, Lily, and Dumbledore in the place where dead Wizard's and Witches go... But enough of Sirius! I am positivly sure *with my army of Remus lovers* that Remus shall not go bad, or betray anyone purposely... But dieing? Well, that's enough matter altogether.

Remus cannot die! He is my favourite Boggart Basher, and I can't do the Remus Revolution if he is dead. As long as he lives until 2017, I should be fine with my Revolution.

lol, well. That seems to be enough reason. Plus, why would JK kill off the only person (except briefly Madam Pomfrey) who gives you chocolate, says it's good for you; says, "Eat it, it'll help." And never poisons it either!

Yeah, Remus is good because he doesn't poison chocolate (unlike some people *cough* Rosalind *cough*). If JK wants to Remus, then I shall join Rosalind's followers, and her back!

Hmm, this a tough ques- NO. NO and one more: NO. I am positive that there is no chance for Remus to be a traitor....so far. I think he cares too much for Harry and the Order for him to ever betray them. Is it possible that he was a traitor from a while ago? I say heck no. Is it possible he could betray them? Yes, but only if he was forced into it (i.e.- Tonks/Harry/Anyone he's really close to are in mortal danger and he must perform a task to save them. This, in my opinion, is the only possibility.)

Hmm I really hope he won't but the strongest forces that could make Remus crack would be:

1. Emotional Pressure (see 7 point list)
2. If he was forced to do it in one of two ways:

- If he was put under the Impervius Curse
-If he had to do it to save someone like Sean points out

I don't want Remus to be a traitor....still, I do love a bad boy....so, as long as he doesn't die, I s'pose he'd be okay...yeah, Remus could become a traitor, but I'd still luff luff luff the knickers off of him. *luff luff luff*

My first thought was "what... no way! Remus would never be a bad guy!"

But when I really think about it I'm more inclined to acknowledge that maybe he could become a traitor without really realising it. He could fall under the imperius curse, perhaps emotionally weakened by being in contact with Greyback?

As stated above by 'roonilwazlib' Remus is the type to do something he really doesn't want to do to protect someone he loves. Maybe this is the reason for JKR pairing him with Tonks?

The idea that his desire to become human might be his undoing is also a good point. It is obvious from HBP that his opinion of himself is very low despite what his friends think about him. Further more he doesn't trust himself ("I'm too dangerous") and he doesn't believe he is worthy of love Because of all these negative feelings about himself he is an easy target for bribery - especially to become human. *I tend to think that Remus is smart enough to know that there is no cure for warewolves*

Because Remus has lost all those he gathered his strength from I think JKR purposely paired him with Tonks so she could be his pillar of strength... so my faith lies with Tonks to keep him together.

*if JKR kills off Remus or makes him a traitor I will be seriously cheesed off!*
