One of those nasty purple Ministry Memos flies in the office and opens up on Edwards lap. He reads it quickly, folds it up, and puts it in his pocket. "Excuse me, Syd, but I've got to go down to the Employment office. There seems to be a problem with my transfer. Some fool on the island sent the wrong file. Can't even get descent help in paradise." Edward gets up and leaves.

Syd nodded to Edward and watched him dash out of the room. He was alone yet again. Though that wasn't going to last at all. There was questioning to get started on...

Nicoli rapped on the door rapidly, without waiting for a reply he quietly opened the door. "Hello Sir," he said in a somewhat cheerful tone, "I'm glad to inform you, that we've got Flooing." Walking into the office he took a seat in one of the vacant chairs. "He resisted, so we were forced to use wands. However, he's uninjured and in the Detention Center." Now he had to get the paperwork done. That would not be fun, but it was of course something he had to do.

"Perfect," he said, folding his hands on his desk and tapping on the desktop a couple times. "Looks like we've got 3 cases to get sorted out in court then. We are going to be pleeenty busy."

He checked the clock on his desk and looked toward the door. Where was Forrester with those witnesses...

Nicoli's eyebrows twitched. 3 cases? "Sounds like you've got your hands full," he said, smiling slightly. "Shall I get on with the questioning then?" he asked not completely sure if he was the man to be doing this. After all, this involved Magical Transportation as well. Perhaps they would want to question him as well.

"Go for it. Just report back and I'll question him before his trial," Syd said, sitting back. "So lock him up in a cell after you question him and I'll get to him as soon as I finish with the witnesses I'm waiting for."

This was going to be a long day. Several cups of tea were going to have to be downed before he could even go into court.

"Brilliant," Nicoli said standing up to leave. "Well not for Flooing," he smirked at Syd before taking the first few steps to the door. "Good luck with the court case." With that, he was out of the door and almost running to get down to the questioning.

Piper followed the Auror division head towards the head department of Law Enforcement along with her boss and Royda one of the witnesses from Corranda's charm approval. They suddenly stopped in front of the department head office door.
Why am I so nervous? Piper asked herself as she waited for the division head to mention the next move.

Brianna stared impassively at the door for a moment, then rasied her hand to knock. She still felt slightly jittery about the entire situation and completely blamed herself for everything that had happened. She glanced over at Piper and attempted a smile. Maybe everything would be alright.

"Come in," said the voice with the American southern drawl from the other side of the door.

Hopefully it was the witnesses this time. Judging by the light knocking, he would assume it was. Everyone in the department barged in now that they had met him.

Brianna opened the door and entered the unfamiliar office. She was feeling drastically better than before and even managed a true smile now that she realized everything was going to be okay.

"Hello there, We're from the Committee on Experimental Charms and we were instructed to come witness against Ms. Corranda Melvicks." She said as she walked into the office, her Boston accent heavy in her speech. "I'm Brianna Fraser, Division Head for the Committee, and this is my employee, Piper, and the woman in the blue dress is Royda." She trailed off, not quite certain what to say next.

"Ah, yes. Thank you for comin' so promptly," he said, motioning to the chairs in front of his desk. "I'm Syd, department head here on level two and prosecutor for the case. I just need ta' ask you all a few questions regardin' what you saw."

He got up and went over to his beverage station, examining the glasses on the table top. They were perfectly clean just like he liked them.

"Lemonade?" he asked the women.

She was not scared, not at all. She was just super self-conscious. And there was still that teensy, half a centimetre small stain on her blouse sleeve.

A stain! How horrible!

- Who cared if it wasn't even a centimetre in diametre. Not even half a centrimetre, actually, come to think of it. All Royda knew was that it was there, and she hated it.

Oh, and that she hated Corrandadadada even more.

Reaching the place a second or two after Brianna, Royda heard a rather American voice from inside tell them to come in, and she briefly looked over at the other two witnesses accompanying her before doing so.

Here we go again.

Once inside, she took one of the offered seats, smiling briefly at Syd. She shook her head no when he offered the lemonade, though - Definitely not her thing. Not at the present moment, anyway.

Forrester entered Syd's office after the last witness and took a seat as close as possible to Syd. He knew that his boss wouldn't mind his presence as he was that got to Corranda. He wanted to hear everything about the old witch.

Brianna felt herself pale as Syd offered them Lemonade. "N-No Thank you..." She managed to stutter as her mind raced through the events that had happened just before the catastrophe in her office. It took a minute to calm herself down, and she was still shaking her head no, almost unaware that she was even moving at all. Her eyes were fixed on the drink, unable to look away.

"Alright then," he said, pouring himself a glass. "Now, I just need to know what it is that you saw and-or did."

He walked back around his desk and set a few sheets of parchment down and a Quick Quotes Quill on top of them. Sitting his his chair, he sipped his lemonade and looked at the women and Forrester.

"How did she arrive, why did she arrive, and why did she start... what was it again that she took it upon herself to do?"

Nothing like a few opening questions to gauge trust and see if stories matched. Sadly, they would probably come up with the same information if they all spoke at the same time, so in order to prevent that he looked to the division head.

"Miss Fraser," he said, asking her to start. "Oh, and before you start, I'll need to block everyone else's hearing."

He pulled his wand out of an elaborate holster on his desk and gave it a flick while uttering a common mufflliato spell around him and Brianna. "Now you may begin."

Edward remembers something he needed to ask Syd. He goes back the Syd's office and knocks on the door.

"Ah, one moment Miss Fraser," Syd said, getting up and walking toward the door.

He opened it and saw Edward was back. Apparently his business had been attended to. Shutting the door behind him, he kept the spell up on the people inside.

"Witnesses," he said, as the door clicked behind him. "Anything you need, Lestrange?"

"For what case?" Edward can't understand why he can't go into Syd's office. He had said he could sit in on some of the interrogations. How could witness depositions be any different.

"The one involving that crazy woman," he said, looking Edward in the eye. "Say, Lestrange, have you had any kind of... law training?"

He kept his hand on the door handle and waited for the response. If the man had had experience, them the first case was going to be a big one. Two heavyweights going at it? Nothing could be better.

I have passed the bar exam and taught Magical Law on the island some. No offence, sir, but since when does an auror need a law degree to sit in on an interrogation?"

"Since now," Syd said, keeping his eyes on Edward. "You think you could defend in this case? We're in need of someone to represent that woman so that she gets a fair trial."

He nodded his head toward the door and then turned back to Edward. If he said yes, then case would be a good one.

"If so I can't let you in."
