Amelia took the note from him and nodded, "As soon as I see him," she replied, putting the sealed note in her lap. "Hopefully he shouldn't be to long."
Forrester entered the MLES office and noticed a small group of people.
"Hello I'm Mr. Hufflepuff, Head Division of Aurors, I need to speak with you Head Division please, Mr. Nicoli" Forrester asked.
Nathan looked at Forrester as he introduced himself so very formally as “Mr Hufflepuff”. A huge contrast to Nicoli’s informal, albeit disastrous, introduction this morning. You could tell the offices were run in completely different ways, and maybe that’s why there seemed to be a lack of communication between departments. Nathan was glad to have Nicoli as his superior. He wasn’t very good at the formality which came with a lot of jobs.
He wasn’t sure whether he should introduce himself, so just sat there in silence, hugging his coffee cup, as Amelia spoke to Mr Hufflepuff.

She exchanged glances with Nathan. This didn't seem a very good sign.
Nathan caught the glance from Amelia and raised an eyebrow. This was the most disorganised set up he’d ever worked for in his entire life! … and that was saying something. Nathan usually functioned at his very best in chaos… but more organised chaos than this. Whatever was lurking in this warehouse in Graham’s Village was likely to be gone by the time the Magical Law Enforcement Department pulled their finger out and got there.

Shifting slightly in her chair, Amelia noticed the air of the room change. It became very formal and quite uptight with the presence of the Auror department head. Amelia hoped that within time he would be more approachable and that this meeting was just an awkward first impression. She didn't do well with pompous hierarchies and hated referring to people as 'Sir' or 'Mr So-and-So'. "Hopefully this was a just a first day thing to establish roles and it'll get more laid back," she thought to herself. She was extremely happy to be in Nicoli's department. "He may not be here right now" she thought, "But at least we feel like a team from the word go."
She noticed Nathan's eyebrow raise slightly and gave the slightest of nods to acknowledge she thought exactly the same thing. "What is going on here?!" she wondered. Seeing that Mr Hufflepuff wasn't leaving, she said "I can try and find him for you if you want?"

"No... Please stay here for now...I guess you head has a couple of things to tell you... " Forrester said as he turned to leave.
"Okey it doesn't matter, I don't think Nicoli would mind anyway..." Forrester began talking as he was alone in the room.
"Maybe you haven't checked the assignment board but we started working on missions... Other department are requesting our help and we have our own problemes as well... First, we have this warehouse we need to inspect... And because I have a low number of employee... Im recruiting employees from other departments... So has anyone of you got any training or experience regarding inspections?" Forrester asked.
Nathan gulped as Mr Hufflepuff addressed the two. ‘Experience!? ..hell no!’ He looked over at Amelia again. She had a lot more experience than him, having worked for the Ministry in Italy. But the young man wanted to get cracking on an assignment, dammit! Sitting in a half empty office all day with nothing to do was not his idea of a good time.
He looked at Mr Hufflepuff and shook his head. “No, sir. I’m afraid not.” Man, that man was a little intimidating.

"Please call me Forrester." Forrester said as he adressed the sitted man. "Well not much of a deal would you go to my office and sign your name as one of the MLES that are going on this mission..."
He looked back at the other MLES employee and asked him to give him back the letter and asked him to tell Nicoli that he already chose his MLES guy.
‘What?! Merlin's pants, no!’ Nathan could have used Amelia’s support on his first assignment EVER! He was beginning to wish he’d just stayed silent. Working alone. With Aurors!
“Yes, sir… er… Forrester, sir.” he said, looking a bit taken aback. He stood up and made his way out of the office, glancing back at Amelia and giving her a look that clearly said ‘HELP!’

Amelia saw the petrified look on Nathan's face and mouthed "Good luck" to him as he left the room. She knew he'd do just fine, he just needed a bit of confidence and he'd be fine.
Nicoli strode back into the Office, his blue eyes now almost black and a frown somewhat permanently etched on his face. As he had made his way over, he had gotten ready to come and tell them both the bad news, which had taken him a surprisingly long time. His midnight blue robes swishing, Nicoli took a look around the room. He felt like he'd been slapped. "Where'd Nathan go?" he asked desperately, hoping that he hadn't left out of boredom. "I've got to send one of you down to Forrester and..." He trailed off feeling rather miserable. Brilliant Head I am.

"Forrester's already been down and volunteered Nathan to help him I'm afraid," Amelia replied. She felt quite guilty telling Nicoli this as it really was his decision to make who and where his staff were sent, not some other department head. "They have both gone to the Auror's office."
"Are you alright?" she asked him, concerned. He seemed to have lost his twinkle in his eye that he had earlier.
A dark shadow crossed Nicoli's eyes as he heard of his colleague's actions. "I see," his voice a deep monotone. A singsong voice and it's cursing victim battled in his head, trying to see what effect they would have. You're pathetic! You're pathetic! Nicoli's jaw tightened and he sank slowly into his seat. That was OUR CHOICE! MY CHOICE! He'd come to a decision, he was more than willing to have listened to the both of them, but he knew that Amelia was more prepared for this.
Nicoli's head snapped up from out of his hands and he smiled weakly at Amelia, "I'm fine," he said half-heartedly, "I suppose we should be getting to work now-salvage what's left of this." Nicoli tugged at a lower drawer and watched it roll out, placing his hand delicately inside and pulling out a folder with his name emblazoned on it.
With a deep breath, Nicoli set his shoulders and looked into Amelia's eyes. A strange, somewhat frozen mix of emotions were within his own. "They've been a few reports of some fake goods being sold in Diagon Alley. We've got to find out who's behind this and arrest them. Unfortunately, the reports were anonymous and the shop behind its name hasn't been involved, meaning we get to snoop," Nicoli smiled weakly, but slightly less desperately.

Amelia pulled her chair closer to Nicoli and watched him intensely as he handled a handsome folder. She listened as he briefed her on the task set before them. "Did they mention what type of goods?" she asked, wondering who could have made the anonymous report. Someone who was scared or someone reporting it for their own advantage? Amelia had a satisfied smile on her face. Her first task within the department and they were going to tackle it together. It was just ashame that they couldn't work as a complete team, with Nathan now working with the Aurors.
Nicoli scanned the contents of the mainly penned reports before his eyes. "Potions, I believe. And by the look of some of these, they were written by witches-or at least someone with a great faith in Love Potions," Nicoli almost chuckled wildly, finding it somewhat interesting that he could find anything funny at the moment. "Side effects...hmm. Well, apparently there were no side effects-just that they don't do what they were supposed to be doing." He would have tried to have some fun with the customer's if he had done it. Color their noses...grow their teeth...Of course there must be a reason for a anonymity.

"Well, at least there are no lethal side effects at the moment, but who's to say that's not going to change," Amelia sighed, almost to herself. 'Why don't people learn not to mess with love, it only ends in trouble,' she thought to herself.
"So a good place to start would be to list all the shops in Diagon Alley where potions won't look out of place if they are being sold there," she brainstormed. "Where did these reports come from? Were they posted to us? Who were they addressed to?" she asked as she looked up at Nicoli from the reports, seeing a faint smile on his face.
"True, it's likely that it's going to turn sour pretty quickly," Nicoli was almost certain of that fact. There was no reason for keeping them harmless-unless they were honest-to-goodness characters. "Yes!" Nicoli smiled at Amelia, glad that she was able to keep the things at hand in his immediate thoughts while the majority of his brain had frozen.
Nicoli wriggled his nose a little as he looked through the files. "No address, no names, no recipient name. They were sent in by...owl ...none of which had any definitive features or marks giving us any clue of who owns them. Two of the three complaints were private owls, the other a hired owl. In other words...a fat load of help." It almost seemed as though the sender was trying at all costs to keep them from finding the source of the complaints.

'This was certainly interesting, and one of those times where having magical ability doesn't help that much,' she thought to herself.
"Do we know if these reports have come from one person, or have they been sent in by different people?" she asked, trying to think of all the bases that needed to be covered. "You say one of the owls was hired. Do we know where from?" She shifted slightly in her chair, trying to get comfortable.
Nicoli could hardly think of any leads, but he matched up the hand-written reports, "None of the writing looks similar, but it seemed to be sent from the Diagon Alley post office...hopefully they've kept a record of the hire." Nicoli was more than relived, Amelia was being perfect. She just almost made up for Nathan's absence...but just not quite. She may had been older than him, but they were in this together, that's all he needed.

"Well, that's seems as good a place than any to start," Amelia grinned, glad they had focus point in the investigation. "Do the notes contain any information that might be useful, or is it just an overview?" she asked, "As long as we are prepared when we go and have a snoop around in the field. Don't want any nasty or unexpected surprises when we turn up." She knew, between them, they would crack this thing, however, it would have been great if it was a complete team effort and Nathan was there. She almost begrudged Forrester taking their team member away so early on into their first day. 'Oh well,' she thought, 'Don't worry about what you can't change.'
She looked down at her muggle clothes and realised that if she didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb when they went to Diagon Alley, a change of outfit was required.
"Nothing really spectacular, but we've got our foundation worked out," Nicoli smiled, some the sparkle returning to his eyes. He thought about the mission at hand and carefully said, "Amelia, you just can't obliviate anyone...and if possible, not knock 'em out either. Obviously unforgivables and...well, half killing them to death is out," Nicoli smirked, "We can tie 'em up, that's about it. Want them to remember as much as-" Just then, a paper plane hit the 24 year old's face, "...possible?"
Picking up the sheet, he scanned it quickly and a broad, amused grin spread across his face. "Take a look," he said sliding the note across the desk.

It was quite interesting, a good cause and all. But could he really do that in his position? New, worst first day one could possibly have...and sign a petition? No way.
