Here are a collection of lifts that open out on the Seventh Floor. Going up takes you to levels 1 to 6. Going down takes you to level 8 to 10.

Sebastian entered the empty lift but it didn't bother him. He was rather pleased to be alone because of the load of work he had to do on his first day.

"Welcome Sebastian Innes , Patents Division, which floor?" a voice came from nowhere.

"The Atrium" he said very pleased that he was returning home.

After a few moments the lift came to a halt and he exited it.

"The Atrium." Came the voice again.

Theo stepped wearily into the lift. He pressed the Level Six button with very little effort. His head hung against his chest as he waited, deep in thought. He hoped noone would interrupt his little session.

Lorraine swayed a bit side-to-side with little effort as the lift took her up to Level Seven. Truthfully she wasn't sure why she was going, except she had wanted to apologize to Theo and his wife about the wedding. Even though he should be the one apologizing, but men...

Closing her eyes, she leaned against the back wall, until the lift stopped. Upon opening them, she nearly gasped as Theo entered. "Theo," she said politely, nodding. "I was just coming to see you."

Theo looked up, his face rather solemn. "Lorraine. I was just going up to see you. How...odd," he said, his voice quieter than usual. He didn't really have to put on an effort, since he wasn't working with anyone, he was just in a lift.

"Now why might you be coming to find me? I am not worthy of such company surely," he smiled, a rather vacant smile.

Was it just her or did he look more serious than usual? Where was his usual humor? "Very odd," she replied, noting his quiet tone. The level seven dept head seemed peculiar - more so than usual, at least.

"Of course you are," she offered a faint smile in return, really confused by his expressions now. "I'll tell you, but first tell me what in merlin's beard has eaten you? You look like you've been hit by the knight bus!"

"Eaten? Knight Bus?" Theo frowned. "I would rather have been run over by the Knight Bus." He thrust his hands into his pocket. "I think Alina hates me, and is going after a younger model."

Lorraine listened to Theo talk, even though he said only a few words. It was enough make her feel some pity on him. Then he did something that annoyed her most; thrusting hands into his pockets. That was thing she knew was a sign that a man was truly annoyed, and thus to steer clear of him.

"Well you look like you have been," she commented casually, maintaining her hazel eyes fixed upon his face. It was always better to keep eye contact when trying to comfort someone. "Oh no Theo! How could she hate you? I highly doubt that. Do you want to talk about it?"

Another tip: always leave it up to the man if he wants to talk about it. She knew better than to pry too much, but leading was more than acceptable.

"Oh thanks," Theo sighed. "You haven't seen her with that Security guy. I don't know his name, but I will find out."

He tried to thrust his hands deeper into his pockets but it wasn't possible, so he began shredding the paper handkerchief that was in his right pocket. He hadn't used his cloth ones in a while, since he hadn't done any washing.

"I don't know how to stop her hating me."

"Anytime," Lorraine teased, but quickly bit her lower lip to stop herself from any laughing. "No I haven't seen that. Nor do I know what security guy you're talking about. Why don't we head down there and you could point him out?" she suggested.

She watched him shove his hands deep into his pockets. If there was one thing she was sure of, he was upset. Theo wasn't the type to act like this over little things.

"Why does she hate you?" she asked cautiously. "I mean what prompted it? Between her and the security guard." She bit her lip nervously, having this weird feeling she already knew. However, she wanted to hear it from him ... to know if she was right in her thinking.

"I don't recognise him. Well I did only see the back of his head. But that isn't the point. I think I have seen them together before. I can't remember," Theo shrugged, "Sure. I would love to go read through their filing cabinet."

Theo continued to shred the handkerchief. It wasn't quite small enough yet.

"You know why," he sighed, "Because of what she saw at the wedding." He didn't want to say anymore. He couldn't.

Lorraine listened as he told her that he wouldn't recognize him. She smirked when he saw the back of his head; like that was really going to help. Then he suggested something that caused Lorraine to shake her head. "No. We can't go read through their file cabinet, because one, you don't know who it is, and two, it is impractical and against all privacy regulations."

It took her some time to realize this, but finally she realized that she would be needing to treat him like a small child. Except she hated small children; her niece and nephew were quite enough.

"Look Theo," she said more calmly than she had been. "That's what I came up here to talk to you about. I was hoping to talk with her as well, but you first. Shall we head into your office or perhaps down to the cafeteria? I recommend the latter of the two." Truthfully, the thought of being in a private location with Theo terrified her; she didn't know when his temptation would overtake him again.

Sebastian entered the lifts really tired from his work,his head aching so much as if it was about to blow.

"Atleast i have a happy thought of going home."He said to himself.

The door openned and he entered. There were two people in there besides him but he didn't recognise them so he kept quiet.

"Welcome Sebastian Innes, Patents Division,Which floor?" Came the voice again.
"The Atrium."

He really was not in a mood to talk ,he just wanted to get home and take some rest.He didn't have the slightest idea that he would have to do so mich work on his first day.
"Maybe I'll get used to it."He thought.

The lift stopped,"The Atrium."

And he stepped out of it.

Theo saw one of his employees enter the lift. He held his hands tightly behind his back, the handkerchief was nicely shredded. He would have fun pulling it out of his pocket later.

He waited for the employee to leave. "Cafeteria might be good. Alina is up in my office area. And I don't really want to see her right now." He followed his little employee out.

"Can I get you a cup of tea or something?"

Sebastian entered the lift.He couldn't believe he was in his office for 10 hours.Time flied today.

Theo waited for the door to ping on him, so he could leave the lift.

He continued to rock, jumping at the ping. He had been waiting for it, but obviously hadn't been expecting it so soon. He exited the lift and stormed off towards his office.
