Simon wandered into the break room, headphone dangling out of one ear, and a can of Red Bull in his hands. He grinned at all the people in there, and sat himself down on the couch, kicking his feet up onto a table near to it.

"So, how is everyone today?"

Jocelyn had taken a seat in the corner with her cup of coffee and a book while she waited. Then at the mention of her name she looked up from her book. Though she has not heard all what was said she stood up walking over toward Emily.

"I am sorry- what was that you said," she asked looking at the women.

As Jocelyn heard Emily's response she shook her head at the fact she had not heard her the first time around, "Oh I see-sorry- I didn't hear you." She had been reading her book and tuning out the others around her until she heard her own name mentioned.

She looked over at the man Emily pointed out to her, "Hi- my name is Jocelyn.” She took in the man’s appearance and noticed the headphone hanging from his ear. Laughing to herself Jocelyn thought, and I was nervous about starting here.

Katherine's eyes widened as Jack introduced her to the mystery French guy. Ummmmm, she thought before finally speaking. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Venin. Or do you prefer to be called Vladimir?" She felt like a complete idiot for her earlier curiosity.

Turning back to Emily, she realized that Jack had answered the woman's last question. She was utterly at a loss for words. And that hardly ever happened to her.

Padme was sitting in the chair in the corner and listening to everyone's conversations and getting to know the other people in the department. She wasn't eavesdropping, just getting to know who the people were and everything.

Padme was a bit shy and it taken a lot of courage to introduce herself to Katherine before and she didn't feel like she could do it with everyone and she decided to just stay where she was sitting.

Vlad smiled at the woman, Katherine, and took her hand and bowed to her in a courtly manner. "It's a pleasure to meet you madame Katherine," he let go of her hand, wondering if she felt the coolness of his touch. "You can call me Vlad, it's short and sweet." He set his coffee mug down on the table, making a note to get another cup later.

Simon looked at the woman and nodded.

"Hey. I'm Simon, Simon Sandford, head of Beast Division." He could barely hear his own voice over that of his headphone, but it was barely audible.

"What can I do you for?"

Katherine's eyes widened even more as he bowed to her like she was in a different era. "Um, ok, Vlad", she managed to stammer out. She had noticed how his hand was cool, but figured it was a circulation problem or something. She knew some people who had problems like that. But the head of the Spirit division was getting curiouser and curiouser. She kept chanting her husband's name in her head, Christopher, Christopher . . ., trying to remain as detached as she thought a married person should be. But she still felt a faint flush creeping over her face.

Jocelyn listened as Simon introduced himself, "Hi Simon. I believe you are my new boss." She laughed slightly thinking how stupid she must sound, yet she could still feel her nervous thumping in the back of her heart.

"I have been assigned to Centaur Liaison Office," she finally stumbled out. She stood very still for a moment before adding, "I just wanted to introduce myself as well as meet you."

Jocelyn heard another man speak to her and she turned, "Hi Jocelyn Paisley." She extended her hand towards the man as she introduced herself. "It is nice to meet you Teal. Yes, thank you that is quite nice- as I can see myself becoming lost in the near future." She gave a slight laugh, "What department is it that you are located in?"

Jocelyn nodded her head as she waited for Teal; he had excused himself for a moment as a he got a drink. Then nodding once more in agreement to the fact the Ministry was a rather large place. As she listen to Teal talk Jocelyn got the feeling he had been here for a rather long period of time and thought it might be wise to befriend someone in his standing (plus he seemed like a nice fellow.) At the mention of disposal of creatures Jocelyn made a face she hoped Teal didn’t notice- one that expressed dislike. Jocelyn know that some creatures were dangerous; however, what about the non dangerous that some people thought to be – did they share the same faith.

Jocelyn glanced around to Simon and then again back to Teal. “Well this is my first ever job-but yes I think I will,” she answered in an almost whisper. “I have had my rounds with all types of creatures,” then realizing that Teal probably would think her uncertified for the job seeing how she had no experience she thought to share a little of her past. “Centaur especially,” she said quickly. “I have traveled all over learning about how different habits and environments effect the way different creatures act and relate. The Centaurs I found was the most affected of all the creatures- I believe.” She realized she was starting to ramble on about her travels as she always did and decided to ask Teal more about himself. “How long have you worked with the Ministry?”

Jocelyn stood listening to Teal’s history at the Ministry as well as out of. His appearance did not show a man who had been with the Ministry as long as being described rather he looked about late twenty rather then late thirties. She smiled and nodded as he spoke of traveling to Romania as she herself had been there for a few months stay.

Then she nodded as he explained why he had taken the job and she had a feeling of understanding of why he had taken the job, “I don’t mean to be or sound judgmental- that job just…well I see what you mean and I respect that.” As Teal described the holding room Jocelyn’s eyes widen with interest, “You will really have to show me around because I didn’t even know about the holding room.”

Jocelyn gave a sigh of relief to herself as Teal explained he had worse reactions to his job. Then flashing him a bright smile as he asked if she wanted to go see the holding room, "Of course- that would be wonderful." She noticed the tone of excitement in her voice and she shock her head slightly to herself, don't sound such like an idiot.

As she followed Teal to the door she looked in the glass to she her own reflection looking back, wow- my hair looks horrible, she thought. She glanced over to Teal to see if he was looking at her as she reaches up flattening and fixing her hair.

Teal smiled as Jocelyn said she wanted to see the holding room, she really did seem extatic about it. But who wouldn't be? Dangerous creatures were always interesting to look at, maybe even humbling. Once they reached the door, Teal gave an unnoticable glance over to Jocelyn as he spotted her fixing her hair, I've still got it.., he thought to himself, smiling slightly as he opened the door.

Walking down the corridor, the holding room was six rooms down. When they finally reached it, Teal stopped at the door and sighed slightly. "It's usually alot busier in there, we only have a few creatures in here right now." he said with a shrug as he opened the door. "After you." he said with a half-smile, slightly peering into the room full of strange cages.
