Well, someone has to work the the dragons, and if you are one of the lucky ones, here is your designated workplace. Here you will discuss all your research and means of restraining troublesome dragons.

Emily waked down the now quite hallway towards her new office, she had to stop and blink a few times before realizing hwere she was. Dragons she mused as she stopped at the one desk where a shiny new nameplate sat, saying "Emily Castior" Above her, a small light flickered slightly and she shook her head. "Still hasn't fixed it yet huh?" She muttered to herself as she placed her bag on her chair and sat down.

The walls were littered with photos of dragons. Hungarian Horntails, Chinese Fireballs and even a Norweigan Ridgeback glared back at her, each curled up around a small bundle of eggs. On her desk a single file sat, with a picture of a baby dragon, race as of yet to be determined. Setting her coffee down beside her she opened the file and began to read, immersing heself into the world she never really liked.

After an hour of reading about a small family of dragons in the North and the steps taken to hide them Emily sat back and rubbed her eyes. How she missed the days of playing with her son, trying to see if there was any hope of him being a wizard. On that note, she picked up her bag and took out three photos, placing them on the desk in front of her. One was an older picture; she was sitting in a corn field with Jeremy, her first husband and her one year old - at the time - daugher Ariana. They all looked so happy and content she thought, eyeing the young girl in the photo as she waved estatically.

Smiling still, she placed an older photo of her daughter; this one was when she was 11 at the Kings Cross station, and the last of her bouncing baby boy Joshua, taken only a few weeks previously. She missed the old times, but knew she needed to move on before it ruined her life. Sighing, she turned away from the photos and went back to work, taking out her quill and writing a few memos.

Thumping of a large boot entered through the door of the Dragon Research room from the corridor. Soon after a young lady appeared in the door frame. She looked around the room before entering it. She looked at the couple of desks sitting in the room. As she turned her head the blue, yarn looking dreads swung with her head.

Kass smiled at the other woman in the room. Her finger ran through her un-dreaded blue bangs as she walked to a empty unclaimed desk. Her eyes looked at the desk and back to the rest of the room.

It didn't really look like young Kasandra should of belonged in a room, where she was planning to handle dangerous dragons. The nineteen year old girl's legs were wrapped in tight orange leopard printed jeans. The skin tight jeans had tears and holes in them, looking as though they should of been thrown our quiet a while ago. Under a black trench coat- which she was now taking off and putting on her chair- she wore a plaid orange and brown shirt. The source of the thumping in the hall- it came from the ankle black boots she wore, that had a inch of platform on the bottom.

She sat back in the chair that was behind the wooden desk. She took the red wood wand out of her back pocket and tapped the unnamed nameplate. Quickly perfect and curvy lettering appeared on it. Kasandra Tonks.

Emily, lost in thought walked back into her division and smiled at the other woman there. At least I'm not alone she thought nodding to the girl as she sat down at her desk and placed the file down. She smirked slightly as she saw her name plate, the words "Emily Castoir" written upnn it. They always spell my last name wrong she thought flicking her wand to change the last name to "Castior."

That done she looked around the office and sighed. Looking to the other girl, who's name she thought was Kasandra she spoke, "Is it me or does this room need more light? It's so dreary in here." She figured it was the best way to start conversation and she hoped the woman wasn't too busy not to chat for a few moments.

While she waited for a reply, she took out her bag and rummaged through it, looking for something. Feeling rather bored with how slow things were going she took out a small basket full of diffrent colores yarn and set to work knitting a small hat for Joshua. She never liked knitting with her wand, she felt it was too lazy and so she took to the Muggle way, using the two needles and the hoos to create her work of art. It was very relaxing she thought as she hummed silently to herself.

Is it me or does this room need more light? It's so dreary in here. Kass looked at the woman who walked into the room. She smiled friendly at her as she pulled a file from her muggle military backpack.

"Deary, a little. There is enough light to do work yes. But you are right, it's not the brightest." It was nice to finally see someone else in this room. "The name is Kasandra Tonks, everyone just calls me Kass though."

Her eyes darted from the paperwork she was doing up to the woman. She was knitting. It was something Kass hadn't seen someone do in a while. It seemed everyone was too lazy to sit there with a pair of needles and make something.

Emily smiled and put her knitting down, finally relenting to the magiacl way of doing it and flicking her wand. The sound of metal nedles clanking together filled he room a bit and she nodded as she replied, "Nice to meet you Kass, I'm Emily Castior." She glanced at the paper work in the womans' hand and smiled, "You working on anything interesting?" She asked curiously, wonderig if she recieved the same folder as Emily did.

She turned her head and saw the knitting was finished. Waving her wand in a slightly complicated way she stopped the spell and folded up the baby clothing she had finished, noting that she needed to buy more yarn later. She turned back to the woman as she picked up her file and flipped through the pages.

"Fantastic to meet yah Emily." Kass said as she stamped a piece of paper loudly three times and then flipped it over. Her eyes scanned the piece of paperwork that needed to be done. She read over it a few times and started to fill it out.

"It's nothing too interesting. Father of a seven year old girl found out that his daughter had a dragon egg kept in their basement. Guess the girl wanted a pet, and found this thing out in the forest."

The stamp pressed hard against the paper once again a few more times. As Kass took the stamp to the paper she stuck the quill in between her teeth. She grabbed the quill again, dipped it in some black ink, and signed the last bit.

"Just fill out the stuff saying what happened and what we are doing and blah blah blah blah."

Emily couldn't help but chuckle as Kass explained what she was doing. "A dragon for a pet?" She asked giggling, while shaking her head, "Doesn't anyone want Pygmy Puffs or owls anymore?" She addded, shaking her head as she watched Kass stamp a few more pieces of paper.

"I received some documentation about a dragon in Canada, I didn't think there were any there. Last I heard the Canadian Ministry had taken care of them all. I'm not sure if I truly believe it though, I mean supposibly it's a Hungarian Horntail." She spoke in a softer voice now as she pulled a piece of parchment from her bag and dipped her quill into the large sized ink well. "I'm just about to send off a letter to get more information." She finished, nodding.

Sheglanced at her pictures and sighed, knowing she'd have to write her daughter soon and check on her. In a way she felt sorry for her, but in another she was envious. Having an ability like that was something anyone would wish for, yet she didn't like it. Poor dear she thought, taking out another piece of parchment for later.

"Ah well children are that way. Get bored often I guess."

Kasandra put the papers into a a file. She threw it into a drawer of hers, knowing that there she would remember to file it later. Her hands reached above her head, in the attempt to crack her spine.

"In Canada eh? Born there I was." She said as she grabbed a bottle of water and took a sip. "Yah dragons aren't really kept there, but maybe someone brought it in illegally. Poor thing could of just got bored sitting around in some lonely land of his and decided to go for a fly, ended up in Canada. Who knows?"

Kass pulled out another piece of paper and started to read it over quickly. "You think that if there is one, their gonna make us get our fannies over there to get it?"

Emily shook her head turning to look at Kass with an upraised eye. "I sure hope not. Personally I can't stand dragons, they terrify me." She paused then chuckled, "But I guess if they make us then we have too. Are we the only ones working with dragons?" She asked, wondering if there were more wizards that wuould be showing up.

"I'm sure it's just a prank, I mean when I was working with the Canadian Ministry before we never had problems with them." She said in a positive voice, bending down to write a quick letter before stamping it with the offical stamp. Folding it up she tapped it three times with her wand, muruering the secret spell all minstry workers knew to seal it magically before nodding to herself. "In any case, we'll find out in a few days." She added moments later as she put the note on her to-do pile and sat back stretching.

"Hates dragons, then why would you be working in the bureau for dragons? Seems a tad bit of irony there. Indeed it does..." Kass' voice trailed off for a quick second. She then looked up at Emily. "They are the greatest creatures out there, I do admit. They are interesting none the less. But so far, it looks as though we are the only ones."

Her quill hit the table as she decided to take a small break from all this paperwork. The sketchbook from her bag was taken out, and a small muggle pencil was grasped into Kass' hand. "Well hopefully it will be soon. If it isn't a prank there is going to be so much work in getting that one dragon."

Emily nodded and yawned slightly. "I agree, I really don't want to schase after one." She said before a small smile creased her face. "I do love dragons, don't get me wrong, it's just I've had some bad encounters with them. I do love they can handle themselves though." She replied, her eyes looking lost in thought for a moment before she shook her head.

She noticed that Kass had a sketchbook ot and was drawing something. Not wanting to distrub the igirl further she took out her ink set again nd set out to write a letter. She was oddly curious about something and needed answers.

"Yes, but I guess it is still our job to go fetch the ones that need fetching." Kass put the sketch book away. "Luckily I haven't had any 'bad' encounters with them yet. I have had a couple that didn't go so well, but nothing too horrible have come across."

Kasandra got up and stretched. "Well I need to go to the market to buy a few things. So I will be back whenever I am finished with that." She said before grabbing her backpack and leaving the room.

"Very true." Emily replied nodding absentmindely as she looked up at the bright lights that still flickered. She watched as Kass got up and said something about going to the market and smiled, "Alright, I'll see you later then." She replied waving the other woman out the door.

Being alone in the large room gave her time to think. Why she wanted to think she didn't know, but something was bothering her, something she couldn't put her finger one as the term went. She knew one thing though she needed to get out of the office for awhile. The light flickered again and she sighed, resinging to the fact that the maintanence peole wouldn't show up unless she did something. Getting up, she locked her desk with a charm and walked out of the office, closing the door behind her.

Kasandra walked into the office. Her bright pink skinny pants could be seen by almost a mile away. He hair stood on her head- stick up in part, looking as though it had not been brushed this morning. She quickly went to her desk, and put her coffee mug down on the desk as she let go of a big yawn. She started to take papers out of her book bag, looking for the folder she needed.

After about five minutes of searching she found what she needed. She pulled out her stamps and quill and got to work.

Emily walked back into the office, her eyes searching for something she had forgotten the last time. It had to be here somewhere, and if she didn't find it then she'd be in huge trouble with her 3 year old son. His little stuffed train meant the world to him and if she lost it well she didn't want to know the concenquences.

Sighing she opened her drawers and rummaged through them, her eyes searching as her fingers danced around the mirad of papers. "Aha!" She shouted, blushing once she realized where she was and grinned, holding up the damaged looking stuffed train. With a flick of her wand she fixed the rips and tears before carefully placing it back in her bag.

With the crisis averted, she then went andsat down, gazing at the empty desk. Man would anything show up for her area? She needed something or elseshe'd make her own excitment.

Kasandra looked up from her desk as Emily walked into the office. She ignored it- getting back to some pesty paper work. Her attention was drawn again when she heard an Aha from Emily. Her head went up to see the woman holding a abused stuffed train. Kass chuckled a bit- finding the situation rather amusing.

"Not much work to be done, spend you spare time with stuffed trains?" She joked as she stamped a piece of paper.

Emily look up when she heard Joe and chuckled, "It's better than playing with real trains, no danger of getting hurt." She replied chucklng as she put her bag on her desk and got comfortable. "No, my son loves his 'wittle coo coo' as he calls it and can't sleep without it." She reiterated smiling fondly at the old toy.

"I'm starting to think we should do something to liven things up here, " she said randomly looking up and seeing Joe's reaction, wondering if she felt the same way. She herself was getting to the point of charming the various items on her desk to tap dance on the Ministers' head in order for something to do.

"Children and their stuff toys. I never really understood it myself. But what can y'ah do about it?" Kasandra shrugged as put another file away in her desk. "Kids will be kids, and they will always need their blankies, teddies, and their coo coos."

KAss through in the last of the paper work that needed to be done into her desk. She yawn slightly. "Liven things up? I am starting to think that to be impossible." She laughed softly

Emily chuckled rather dryly as she shrugged, "I'm beginning to think they've forgotten about us stuck in this tiny office all day long." She replied, stretching lightly as she bent down to dig through her bag. If truth be told she was drowning in her own little boring world.

Sighing as she found what she was looking for - chocolate chip cookies - she rose back up and shrugged, "If this keeps up I'll know the Ministry by hand from walking around everywhere." She said conversationally as she picked up a folder and frowned at it.

"I would not be surprised if they did forget about us." Kass yawned. "There are hardly any reports of dragons, and most of the ones reported are just hoaxes, or simples things to fix."

Kasandra looked around the small cluttered office. We need donuts she thought desperately. She really did want some at this moment. Her desk was possibly more cluttered than the room. She started to look through her desk, maybe she had some donuts in her a drawer somewhere. It would not be a surprise.

"Well I can never say I don't get enoughs sleep. Most of my time I spend here just napping."

A sphinx, liberated from the holding cell by the house elf rebels, casually cruised into the room and looked at the office workers. A moment passed and then it spoke:

"First think of a person who in kitchen stands,
Preparing your food with their finely skilled hands.,
Next tell me the the word for a time of no strife
Not difficult, no, but 'simple', your life.
Now string them together, and an answer give,
What thing will you give me if you wish to live?"

It looked at them expectantly.

"Oh fancy that, creatures running around lose on this floor, of all floors." Kasandra was never too good at riddles. She hoped that Emily was at least a bit better than herself. A person in the kitchen. Chef would be the first thing that came to mind, but possibly it is not a person at all. House Elves tend to find their place in kitchens. Oh riddles, how she hated them so.
