The Lifts on level 2 are always busy, partly because the biggest department in the ministry of magic can be found here, and partly because members of the public who visit the ministry often have to do so for legal reasons and this is where they'll end up. The lifts don't only go vertically, so keep that in mind and hold on. Some of them swoop off diagonally, horizontally or even multi-dimensionally, but if you're leaving from level 2, or press the button to arrive at level 2, then this is where you'll end up.

Some of the lifts seem to move a little faster to certain departments than others at different times of the day, and the employees here on level 2 take advantage of that if they have to go somewhere in a hurry.

Step on out (or in) and take a look around. Its just a short walk to the nearest bathrooms, and at the other end of the foyer you'll find the main entrance to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

Of course, if you're not just hanging around the lifts on level 2, they'll take you elsewhere.

Another day another galleon.

Well what? It wasn't like Evander wasn't getting paid WELL for his job.

He got out of the lifts and wondered if anyone else would be here so early.

Temperance just couldn't sleep last night. For some reason she was tossing and turning all night. But whether she did get any sleep or not she was here. Bright and early for work. It was one of the benefits of being a morning person, she thought to herself as she got into the lift to make her way to Level Two.

Another day of work.

The lift stopped, and a voice announced she was once again on Level Two. Stepping out of the lift she made her way to the office in which her desk was located.

There was one thing Damien Jackson did better than most anything else... he had an uncanny talent for this...

That thing was? Showing up right as Evander Bole did. Yep. He was somehow honed in to when he needed to show up. It was magic. Heh.

"Morning chief. What's on the agenda for today?" he said as he came out of a different lift, two cups of coffee in his hands. "There is a kid in my house... I get up early now apparently. Thing wants breakfast and stuff. He talks a good bit too..." Damien grumbled a little as he held the cup out.

Really. He didn't mind the kid. Kind of felt paternal toward him really... Not that he would ever admit that though.

Dacs dressed in full black was back to work. It was nice to get stretch her legs and relax her mind a bit. But she glad, believe it or not, to be back at work.

As usual, stoic and quiet, she walked out of the lifts and greeted her boss and co- worker."Good morning." She was always early, the coffee was good in the morning.

He grunted and took the coffee.

"A kid? I sent Lily's to Quidditch Camp." But that didn't make it more restful. Heh.

He drank down half the scalding hot liquid in one go as they wandered into the foyer and up the corridor.

Alicia Devereaux slipped off of the lift, turning her head she saw that she was standing quite close to someone she'd met weeks before and hadn't gotten off well with...well, until she'd mentioned a friends name that is. Tucking a stray bit of hair behind her ear she tried to get used to where she was, she wasn't used to being on the upper levels of the ministry - she was used to being on the fifth level this was such a change but she was glad for it.

"Morning," she smiled to the people around her, as she waved and walked over to the foyer and corridor.

Caedwyn stepped from the lift and tugged her cardigan into place as she eyed the lift area. So far... so good? Yes. So far, so good.

There were a few other stragglers leaving the lift area as well, and she gave them each a sunny smile. Future co-workers, ahoy! You never knew when you might meet a new dear friend.

Smooth out the suit.

Check the tie is straight.

Make sure both wands are stored in the place they are meant to be: wrist and ankle holsters.

With a slight cough, Gabriel exited the lift, completely sure he was ready for this. Due to the fact he'd been appointed around the time of that wretched Borr party, this was the first time he had been in the Ministry to do actual work. And to see the new layout. Which, so far, appeared very different to the one he saw when he'd come for his interview with Evander. Keeping a wary eye on his surroundings, Gabe managed a cheery smile for anyone in the vicinity.

Now just to find his way to his desk.

It is her first day at the Ministry. Avery Hawkins steps out of the lift and pauses after walking a few steps away.

She straightens her brown trench coat. Then, she proceeds to her new office, wondering what jobs could've been waiting.

LATE! Why was he always late!? Elliott R. Maine trembled in the strange elevator, wishing he wasn't late, that this thing would go faster. Even if that would probably cause him to lose his breakfast. That plate of eggs, sausage, and waffles was very important to both him and his stomach, so perhaps it was for the best that his toe was still tapping as he stepped out from the elevator doors.

"Well, that was a truly frightening experience," he muttered before wandering off to wherever he would find his CMEC desk. There would be plenty more to come, Elliott was sure.

Zach was determined to figure out which department he should go in terms of his registration for being an Animagus. Some people that he had talked to showed him to the Magical Creatures Department. But he feels a bit dodgy about that idea because, first of all, he doesn't look like any Magical Creature.

So he decided to head to the Law Enforcement Department.

As he exits the lifts he walked towards the Lobby.

Alicia was entering the ministry for the last time - well the last time for now. Right now she was entering her year-off and she was taking it with a grain of salt. Apparenltly it wasn't a good idea to cry all the time at work. She never meant to - but it was hard thinking not to think about Jaxton and how he had vanished.

She wanted so much for him to walk out from some room and she'd just drop her things and run to him. Well - maybe. She might just drop her things and slap him and say don't you ever leave me like that again...but she knew one thing - if she ever did see him agian he'd probably be ignored for a little while.

Wait. That was a blatant lie.

Lights stepped into the lift area, and into her new life. Her first job since leaving Hogwarts. She was ready for anything - she hoped. Her inner dog begged for her to sniff the air to check for danger, but she repressed the instinct. Lights wondered whether anyone else had this kind of trouble with their Animagus forms, and then concluded that most Animagi had probably chosen to become an animal, and she had not. So different rules, she supposed.
Lights brushed her short curly blonde hair behind her ear, and advanced into her new job, full of determination and hope.

What she didn't want her whole entire department knowing she was a total idiot. So she left the Hit-Wizard side and when she got into the lobby she danced a little jig of oh-so-happy.

Before she quickly aparated back to the Level 6 Training and testing area. But now, she was a little worse for wear - only because of the dance. She'd made her hair go all 'date with a wind-tunnel' instead of prim-and-propper for work. Oopsies. Atleast she was safe - and healthy.

Walking out from the office, Jaxton made his way through the office space towards the lifts. He was going to go down (or was that up?) to their security offices and say hello to those he used to work with... that and make sure that they weren't having any trouble obviously. And then he was planning on patrolling the Ministry before grabbing something to eat, more coffee and then he'd hit the pile of paperwork on his desk until the end of day.

He sighed softly as he hit the arrow for the lifts. He was sure it wouldn't take long for a lift to get here - some how, it never did. Magic, he assumed. Yeah. That was the answer to everything mysterious in the ministry... at least most things.

Wes was planning on taking the lifts up (or was it down...?) to the courtrooms, simply because he hadn't investigated/snooped/patrolled around there himself recently and partly because he was interested in the goings-on of the courtrooms.

Either way, he whistled as he wandered over to the lifts behind one of his coworkers. "Hello," he greeted the other man, who was an auror if his memory served him correctly. Couldn't recall the guy's name for the life of him though.

Looking up as he heard a Scottish accent talking to him - at least he assumed so since he was the only one there - he looked up to notice that Wesley was walking towards him. He'd heard Dean mention his name a few times, and Evander had motioned to him as one of the Division Heads at the meeting.

"Good morning." The tall American said with a gentle smile, as he looked the man up and down as if trying to figure out what kind of man he was. Come on now, Jaxton wasn't so bad - he was just cautious ~~and paranoid~~ and he'd been telling the YATI's to be careful... although he truly didn't think that Evander would place any cultists as Division Heads... unless of course they were hiding that from him.

"Wesley, isn't it?" He asked, getting right to the punch.

"You can call me Wes," the other man answered, casually folding his arms and taking a lean against the wall as they waited for the lifts. He raised a brow as the American auror was apparently sizing him up against some suspicious standard in his mind. Hmm.

Paranoid bunch, weren't they?

"Having a good day, are you...." Was it Jackson or Jaxton? "Jaxton....?" Wes was just grasping at straws here and hoping he wouldn't offend the ~~slightly taller~~ other man.

Nodding his head with a slight smile on his lips, Jax agreed to call him Wes, "I'll keep that in mind," he said. As the man looked him straight back, he grinned - apparently the fact he hadn't cowered in face of him scrutinizing him, gave him extra Jaxton points. He nodded his head, grinning the whole time, and stopped looking him over. Nope, that single motion was enough for now. Sure, he wouldn't be spilling his life story straight away - but he would trust him with a few of the details.

"Quiet so far," he supplied as the lift appeared, ding-ed and then opened its cage-like doors. He moved into it and held the door open for Wes. He hit the '8' button for himself and then looked to Wes again. "Where are you going?" He asked, his finger still holding the door open until he could press the correct number for Wes.

"And, you're correct," he added with a slightly mischeivious grin. "I'm Jaxton, though most call me Jax, or Tanner." He said with a nod of his head as if to clarify that he was telling Wesley the truth.

"Ten, please." Wes grabbed the lift door and followed Jaxton inside, turning around and giving the man some space.

Aha, so he had gotten the name right! Scoreeee. "I'm guessing from your accent that you're not from around here," he commented idly, since they were both stuck in an elevator now. "I'm half Australian myself," Wes continued, being all friendly like. Unusual for him, but he was having a good day.

Anyway. "Quiet days are good days." There just weren't enough quiet days out there.

Nodding his head again, Jaxton hit the 10 and let go of the doors so that they could be on their way. He had no idea how the Ministry lifts worked - and that was one of the few things that he didn't want to question. Nope. That, he left to the answer of 'magic'. Heh, there weren't many things he put that much trust in either.

Grinning slightly, the Auror agreed with Wes. "Miami, Florida." He said with a smile. "Been here for almost four years now." He said with a slight smile. Two years in Security, and then two years as an Auror. Yup. "Your accent doesn't sound Australian." The man commented, his eyes narrowing slightly; that didn't add up at all. ~~NO! He wasn't paranoid~~.

He had to agree with that statement. "There aren't enough of them. Although I have a feeling that patrolling will uncover some form of catastrophe that will make me wish I'd stayed at my desk." He said with a slight grin. What could he say, he preferred patrolling to sitting pushing papers.

Miami, Florida?! "How the hell did you end up in freezing, foggy London?" Wes had to murmur, chuckling a little as the lift dinged and took off. He grabbed one of the handholds and shot a glance over his shoulder to the auror. "If you don't mind my asking, of course."

Four years was kind of a while. Maybe he didn't like sunny weather. Maybe he preferred... rain, all year round. Snickerrrrr.

"That's because I'm only HALF Australian," Wes repeated. "The other half's Scottish. That's the half that brought me here." Obviously, since they were hardly in sunny Australia right now. Wes would make it back there eventually though. Eventually.

So he was going for a 'trol, was he? Good. Now Wes knew what he was up to. "Have you heard about the protestors?" Wes dropped his voice and leaned in toward the auror a bit. "They're making a right mess outside, though I have to say they have the right idea...."

"Uhhh." Jaxton said trying to figure out the reason he was there. "I don'y really know. I was Head Auror in the Florida Division... But wanted a change of pace. So I applied for a Security position here and I got one... then re-applied to be an Auror, and got that too." Yeah - that was pretty much about it.

Ah. Well, that made sense. It also made him feel slightly bad for suddenly doubting the man. Whoops. What? It wasn't like he could be perfect all of the time. Heh. "Yeah? I've heard Scotland's pretty nice." He said with a small smile. "I hope to get a chance to visit." He'd had a day or two in the highlands while he'd been away, chasing that idiot Cultist - but he hadn't seen anything.

Jaxton nodded his head, and took a step closer to Wes, realising that this was a topic not to talk loudly about. "Yes. If I didn't have reasons to not want the spotlight, I'd be out there." He said softly. But he didn't need the spotlight of Armen, Borr or any of the other Cultists. No thank you! Also, he had his trust in Evander. He didn't say that though - he didn't truly know Wesley to give him that sort of information. ~~Not yet anyway.~~

Hmm. Yeah. "Florida's a bit different from England. Or Scotland." It did have weather comparable to Australia though, so Wes stopped there. "So which do you like better: running Security detail or doing dangerous Auror work?" He grinned over at the other man.

Aurors won in his mind. Easy. Psssh.

"It's not that far away," Wes answered, a note of surprise in his tone. How could he live this close to Scotland and never been? "I don't suppose you went to Hogwarts, since you're American and all...." The famous wizard school was a perfect example of Scotland's beautiful landscape. Huhhh.

Reasons to evade the spotlight? Wes raised a brow and lowered his voice even further. "I heard you were on assignment for a good long while... which one were you chasin'?" Oh how he wished he could have helped with such a covert op.... Unfortunately, Wes had a feeling he wasn't going to be put undercover again for a long, long time. Ah well.
