Modern, light and airy, you'll find the larger work area quite a pleasant place to be, though the windows aren't real, they're simply charmed to have a nice view. Some of the desks here are arranged into clusters, giving the entire space a far more friendly and united vibe than one might expect from such a serious department. Naturally employees of different divisions are clustered with their fellows, every member of MMAO, CMEC and IUMO have their own permanent desks here, the Wizengamot employees are more transient as they are based here but spend a good amount of their time on level ten in the courtrooms. They all have their own secure lockers however, and you may on occasion find one or two of the legal bunnies working at a spare desk going through stacks of court files and case histories and ~~boring~~ fascinating things like that.

The forensics lab, a large storage room, the evidence and pensieve room and the direct floo access aren't too far from here, but the conference room, filing room and the department head's office are a bit more of a walk. In case you forget, take a look at the map. Oh and on your way down the corridor, take a look at the noticeboard and grab yourself a coffee if you like. Its better than the stuff we provide in the waiting room.

Possibly? Wasn't it more definite that they would be seeing each other again soon since, well, they were working in the same department? Heather finally made her way back to the office. She had the largest cup of coffee she could make in one hand and a box of glazed doughnuts in the other. It wasn't really the healthiest choice of snack food for her, or anyone else, so in the bag hanging on her wrist was some apples and oranges. She placed everything on her desk and smiled, "If anyone would like a doughnut or an apple or possibly an orange, feel free to come and grab whatever."

She grabbed herself an yellow apple and finally sat down. Looking at the list she had acknowledged earlier she took a nice long drink of coffee. Now to finally get something done.

Roxanne walked into the office carrying a large box of assorted doughnuts and a tray of coffees. She had woken up this morning wanting to do something nice for her coworkers, so she'd stopped by a local bakery and picked up the box. Now she just hoped everyone liked doughnuts. Honestly, they smelled delicious and were making her hungry. "If anyone missed breakfast this morning, I have some bear claws, crullers, jelly filled, and frosted doughnuts over here." She placed the box on her desk and pulled back the lid, letting the smell fill the room. Choosing a chocolate frosted one herself, she took her seat, grabbed a coffee and fixed it the way she liked. Taking a bite, she let out an "Mmm…!" Oh, almost forgot! "There's coffee too!" she exclaimed, pointing at the tray of cups (which also included packets of sugar and creamer). Now to get to work…

Hawk looked up from the reports he had been reading. It seemed no one was abusing muggle artifacts recently. These reports simply were asking permission for the destruction of a few dangerous artifacts that had been discovered last year. Hawk wuickly put his signature on them.

"That's nice." He only muttered this when he heard someone talking, though he didn't exactly here what she said. Assuming it was his co-workers chatting, he had simply been acknowledging everything everyone was saying to each other this way. But then he looke dup when he heard something being placed down.

That's nice?! Well okay then… Maybe some of the others would appreciate her nice gesture. That is when they came in, anyway. Then it hit her (what had caused that reaction, anyway). He was busy! Whew, she thought she was being blown off there for a minute!

"You sure you don't want a doughnut to go with that? They're very, very good…" She wasn't lying, either. She was going to have to help herself to another one once she was done with the one she already had. Speaking of… she took another bite of said confection and grabbed a napkin to wipe any frosting from her face. 'Cause frosting- face would be embarrassing…

His first day of work. Roderigo De Lacerda had never had a job as official as this one. He had recently been hired to work with the Wizengamot as a stenographer. His morning had been long, stressful, and he had to remind himself that this was his new job, though he'd be in the courtrooms more often. He couldn't remember which level those were on. The young Spaniard walked into the Magical Law Enforcement work area. His plum robes fluttered at his feet as he silently made his way to the spare desks for Wizengamot workers. He placed his bag on the table and turned around to his new coworkers.
"Er, hullo," he said clumsily, his Spanish accent thicker than normal. "My name is Roderigo De Lacerda. I just got a position here." He gave off an awkward smile.

Roderigo tried to swallow quickly to answer Roxanne, but the donut got stuck in his throat. He hastily gulped the coffee, which was still a bit too hot, and he felt his throat blister.

Yes, Wizengamot! "Well, welcome then!" And a Spaniard, too! She wasn't the only foreigner anymore! "Spain. That's a lovely country…" She smiled again, letting him know that she was being completely sincere.

"That's pretty much it." Some people might find it boring, Roxanne enjoyed it. For the most part. She found it just as important as any other job in the MLE at any rate.

"It is kind of depressing that we do not get our own desks," he said. He knew he wouldn't be down here much but it would have been nice to have his own desk where he could set up pictures and little plants and whatnot. He turned back to Roxanne and smiled before finishing his donut.

She turned around and saw that Roxanne, someone she remembered a little from before her first day, had come in with donuts and coffee! She was standing with a man who spoke with an accent. Arden had only half heard that she had been talking about the donuts just a minute prior, but now that she could smell it, she turned to look back at Melissa. "Would you like any donuts?" she asked as she headed for Roxanne's desk.

Looking at the options before her, Arden looked at Roxanne with a smile and said, "Is it alright if I possibly have more than one? I haven't had these in ages!" She looked up and saw a man she had never met before. "Hi! My name is Arden," she said to him with her hand out. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Arden looked at Melissa and gave a goofy little smile. She could be a sucker for accents.

Re-entering the work area he had a grin on his face in the usual Benjamin way. The case in the file was sure to be the first big one since the newbies arrived. Plopping it down onto his desk he motioned for the rest of his Division to come to him for a briefing. While he waited, he leaned on his desk and took a quick tally in his head of everyone there.

Heather had stepped out of the office for a minute and when she returned she found a few new people. She clutched her cup of coffee a little more and made her way to her desk. Looks like the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts crew had something to go. She herself had yet to meet her own division head she was just trying to keep busy, not the easiest thing to do.

He finished the coffe and then turned with a start when he heard his boss Benjamen calling. Something exciting? Hmmm, Hawk was interested. This would be the first big one for awhile then.

Hawk approached "What have we got boss?"

Plopping it down onto his desk he motioned for the rest of his Division to come to him for a briefing. While he waited, he leaned on his desk and took a quick tally in his head of everyone there.

Arden turned her attention to the man who came in. She had seen him before and was curious as to what this 'exciting' thing was that he had. She watched him almost anxiously and walked toward him purposefully when he motioned them, trying to show she was ready for an assignment. She needed to make good impressions! She decided not to say anything but merely looked at the man and waited for whatever was coming next.
