I was asked this in a business class (don't ask why--the teacher was absent so I guess she just gave us something) and told to write a 2/3 page.

I'm proud of my personality because it sets me apart from everyone.

Why are you proud of yours? Are you even proud? What's your favorite trait? What's your least?

My response:

I'm proud of my nonjudgmental brain. I see other people's sides before I make my decisions. I don't really like criticizing other people [which makes me seem like a non-opinionated person, but I am]. I'm a goofball and a crazy person, and yet I can be serious at the same time.

I'm not proud of my naiveness and my jealous nature. Also, I'm not an angry person, but when I do get angry, oh, it's horrible. Oh, also, I'm really shy and quiet when I don't know you. But if I do know you, you know that I'm utterly hopelessly weird. And I'm proud of it.

I am proud of my personality because its what makes me me. I am the only Tisha there is in the world. There maybe imitators and duplicators, but I am the originator.

I am a strong woman that speaks her mind and never backs down from a fight when there's a need for one I always put others before myself, and I take care of everyone around me.

I love to be the center of attention and around people. I am a great friend and a great listener.

Interesting choice of words. I wouldn't exactly say I'm proud of my personality. I am content being who I am, which then of course includes my personality - I wouldn't want to change (much), that describes it better methinks.
Of course it makes me unique, but it's not as if I had a set personality in my mind that I worked for, and now I'm proud of "achieving" that.

On to the traits.
Like hogwartsgirl, I'd say I'm a good listener. And like hogwartsgirl, I'm pretty quiet and not really sociable, but I like that. Worst trait I can think of right now: I'm lazy as heck.

Hmm, I'm in a blabbing mood so...time to vent.

What are my bad characteristics?
To many I may seem like : A goody two shoes. Family-oriented. Devout Catholic. Friendly. Outgoing. "Live of every party." Optimistic. Happy-go-lucky. Silly lil' goofball...etc etc.

But, I'm not proud of those characteristics at all. Weird no? I've acquired those characteristics because of how I was brought up. In other words...I was pushed to being all of those things. It’s almost as if it’s now expected and thus they’re not good aspects of my personality. They’re bad. Or else, that’s how I see it.

So, what are the good?
I am stubborn. Moody. A bit extreme. Very judgmental. Know-it-all. A yapping hypocrite. An attention-seeker. Picky. Impulsive. Easily Annoyed. Curiosity-driven etc etc.

Those things are ones in which surprise others. They seem like the “bad” characteristics but that’s not how I see it. They are the only ones that I act on impulsively. Plus, those things may change in time. Stubborn could adjust to mean determination. My mood swings could bring about experience. Being judgmental in the right way could help me in understanding how the world works. Being a hypocrite only means that one day...I’ll finally act rather than yap about acting. Twist those “bad” aspects a bit more and you’ll see that they indeed are the ones that are truly “mine.”

To conclude:
Am I really proud of my personality? I don't think so. Everyone has their good and bad...and I think around my age (7 going on 17) you claim a bit more of the bad than the good. (This solely depends on your definition of "good and bad." You might find yourself disagreeing with me.) However, with the good and bad…I’m happy as I am. I'm not always proud of what I do. But, happy nonetheless.

Well.. I don't really know? Am I proud of my personality? I HATE being shy, but besides that, I guess, I am pretty proud.

i like the fact that i cry and laugh with the greatest force of my life...and hate it when i have the blues because i know that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm...yet still i find myself going down that path...

I'm proud of my personality, because I'm fair, not judgemental, I like justice, I can keep calm even in critic situations, I'm reliable and loyal.

My bad parts: I care too much about what people think about me, I act coldly sometimes although I don't really want to, I'm too stubborn, and too curious and impatient.

Well, it took me a long time to realize that my personality is what makes others like me. they Don't want me to be a celebrity or a singer or even my parents. They want me to be me. It's when I am me, that people can know me.

And...I like to amuse. If it makes me laugh, I want to do it. If it makes me smile, I want to share it.

why am I proud of my personality?

that is quite a hard question to answer i suppose i am proud of my confidence i am not afraid to speak my mind my friends think i can be a little mad at times but they love it when i do go a little mad i suppose i am the clown of my friends which is good if people know when and where to do that, the other trait of my personality is that i am quite soft hearted and i go out of my way to help people day or night, all my friends know that my phone is on and that if they need me they just have to ring me, basically i am very bubbly and love to help so thats why i am proud i suppose.

This is a very interesting question, I must say!

I am not an outgoing person. I am usually not the first person to start a conversation or approach someone else, that kind of thing has always terrified me. But I am proud of my personality because I am very resourceful, creative and somewhat ingenious. I actually know how to turn things around in my favor in all kinds of ways (the most subtle), which is kind of an art form, I think. I am very diplomatic, know how to use flattery and compliments to make people feel good and usually know how to stop a fight. I also know how to give thoughtful, meaningful gifts that fit the person they are intended for. I am a really good listener and pay very close attention to what people tell me, probably more than most, I think. Plus the fact that I am very, very determined and once I have set my mind on a particular goal, I will work towards it relentlessly no matter how hard it may seem to achieve. I also like to do a good job and am somewhat of a perfectionist.

Well, over the years I've kind of had a huge "finding myself" experience. At first I was really influenced by the way people saw me. I'd dress a certain way, and even change the way I acted because I wanted to do what it took to fit in. I realize now I was really stupid, but it took someone special in my life to make me realize all that.
I once was like.. a drone.. for my parents and my 'friends' way back in 8th and 9th grade. I did whatever they told me to do, whenever. No matter what it was I did it. Once I met my girlfriend, Jenn, she helped me see that.. I had a choice. For me, that was huge.
From tenth grade on I got new friends, one's I could be myself around. One's that didn't care what I really wanted to do or how I wanted to do it. Then, this last year in high school I took a philosophy class.
As we were studying Nietzsche and his 'Ubermench' theory I realized, like I had before, it's my life, not anyone elses.

So, basically: I live the way I want to, and if the people around me can't deal with that? Then I shouldn't bother with them, 'cause if they can't coop with me then they're not worth my time. Period.

I'm proud that I'm random and crazy. I'm proud of being very different and how I can make friends and forgive people very easily. I am shy and quiet, but I still manage to have many friends, and when I'm with a friend, I am loud, random, crazy, or just plain weird. I'm proud of that, somehow.

I don't like that the fact that I take eternity to make a decision or even simply consider something. It really bothers people and myself. I can hours deciding whether or not I should go shopping the next day. It really kills time.

Proud of my personality? That's a tough question to answer, but I suppose that I am, because it makes me, me. Strip away everything, and you'll still have the girl who's neither one thing nor the other all the time. I won't desire books, but I won't want to go without. I won't hate someone, but I won't like them either. I won't be sad, but I won't be happy, either. I won't be angry, but I won't be calm . . . and I am proud of that fact because no one else I know is like that. My personality at its barest is what makes me who I am. That's why I'm proud of my personality.
