Arkee, came from a character I created for a fantasy series I will never write. I adored her companions more than I liked her, but as she was my link to the strange people she made company with she became more important. I took her name because I found myself liking the name and being selfish about it. It comes from Archimedes, the famous inventor ("Eureka!").

Maldemer = mal de mer, French for "seasickness". I named my mini-pirate ship this for ironic effect. Sounds cultured, refined, and possibly evil because of the "mal" bit in it.
