There are many interesting usernames on SS. So what does yours stand for and how did you come up with it?

I will start so you get an idea of what to post.

ackapoo15 - This is the name I signed up with. Most of you remember me by this. Ackapoo is a nickname I used to call my dog when she was just a puppy. It's also the first AOL screenname I used (when I still had it) and it's kinda stuck with me ever since. I remember my friends used to pronounce it "ahh-ka-poo" when it was really supposed to be "ack-a-poo". The 15 is from my birthdate, NOT MY AGE.

Laurix0rz - When I became an admin, I changed my name to this because I just thought it was funny. Plus it's an inside joke between my friends and me. And people kept spelling "ackapoo" wrong too, so it was a good change.

It's an odd story as to how I came to have my name.

I have an insanely funny, witty friend who thought it would be fun to call people in our groups nicknames by the way their hair is. The red head was Carrot, the blonde Sunshine, the brunette Twix, and being the other brunette, I got called Fro (which is due to my super-curly hair).

After a bit, my friend and I began reading a web comic, in which there's a character named Pirogoeth (sort of). One day my friend signed online and her first message to me was "Yoeth Froeth, which rhymes with Pirogoeth!" and it stuck instantly. It's been my nickname in real life, and my screenname, for the two years since.

its a reallii fun naym if lyk u knoe how to say it right lol dnt ask.. well also its my cuzins sn and I thought it was so adorable i had to have it... so being the completely weird and hyper person i am i went with it.. i wonder sometimes how i have as many friends as i do.. but thats off topic so w/e... lol..

Ok well I had just started going to a new middle school for 8th grade. Barely anyone knew me and visa-versa. Anyway in my English class this surfer-girl sat behind me and I, being my friendly self, struck up a conversation with her (name, interests,etc). Anyway when I told her that my name was Leah she heard Lilo. She got really exieted about that ("Dude awesome name man!") I decided not to tell her my real name. She of course found out eventually but the nickname stuck.

ummm, mine isn't exactly impossible to work out! It's LupinJr because Remus Lupin is my favorite Harry Potter character and it's Jr because I'm not a 30-somthing premature wrinkled man...I'm still a teenager!

on my original account, Kellarae, which no longer works for some reason, I was bored the day that I joined, and it was the first thing that came into my head. (partly from Ellie, my name)

I wanted the user name Hermione becaues I am exectly like her and that is always my username everywhere. But Hermione was taken so I put topstudent on the end with a little dash in the middle.

Tiki was a nickname some friends of mine came up with last year because it kind of resembles part of my name. And it just stuck.

in my favorite book there is this girl i am like and her name is ileana
she has blonde hair and is vain sometimes(like me) and her last name was Dubear and i wanted to make it pretty so i put the things on thw end

I came up with my name in 1998. I wanted to make a new email address that wouldn't give away my real name. At first I wanted to be marajade, my favourite character from Star Wars, but then decided on mysticjade5. The 'mystic' part just sounded cool, the 'jade' refered to the SW character and to jade stone (which I really like). I added the five cause its my birthday number. Whew, long explanation !

Well, my parents were hippy and decided to name me a Indian name.
Lotus, is the meaning of my name in Hindi.
It was just natural for me to use it as my user name, cause my other nicknames aren't quite so nice.

I once read a fantasy book (forget the name) and it had a character called Keredwel. I've been going online as Keredwel for over a year now, and I don't think there's anyone else on the web by that name. In the book Keredwel was dumb, blonde and vain, but I fell in love with the name and it's stuck since!

I also love LotR, and Keredwel sounds Elvish so I took it.

Only problem is that most people always misspell it!

Would that book have been Crown of Remembrance, by any chance?

Keredwel: I don't think so... It had something to do with dragons, perhaps it was Dealing with Dragons (or then that was the name of the further sequels) and I think the author's first name was Patricia. It's been a long time since I read it.

It's really simple why I chose to be called fan. It doesn't give a clue to my gender, for one. I usually want to reveal as little about myself on line as possible and fan is gender-neutral. Also, I am a fan of many things, so I didn't want to restrict myself to something Harry Potter-ish or Lord of the Ring-sy or what ever else I happen to like. It thought it was a nice, neutral, friendly name.

My nickname is EJ... I don't think it's very nice to use that as a username, so I thought of something...
I realized that Edge, which is the same as pronouncing my nick without completing it, is pretty cool, so that's why I decided to use it...

511-the year I was born in.

well I wanted to put my name with Hermione Granger.Then I wanted to put it Lbar511 until someone dared my friend (known as Lbar511) to put that as a name in SS so it's gone.

Well i chose my sn cause i absolutely love to read books and the number is part of my birth date !!!

Well, I dunno. When I first looked at the SS forums way back in September 2002, lots of people had quiz answers in their signatures. Jamie Frost quizzes or something, saying which HP character they were. I took it and got Fleur, and she looked really pretty in the picture whoever the picture was so fleurdelacour it was ><.

I wish it was something else now, I'm bored with it.

My nickname is Moe, and I really like ~s and *s, so, there you go!

Mine is a bit of a long story... well, okay, maybe not. I used to go to a forum where I would role play a girl who was Sirius's daughter. (Yes, she was a Mary Sue.) Well, my user ID, ~Owls*Quidditch~, got disabled on those forums with no explanation. It tended to happen a lot; the moderators didn't explain much. So I just made a new user ID, and the moderators didn't care or anything. Next thing I knew, my friend who played Harry's sister had become Miss Prongs, and we had a girl asking to be Miss Moony (we said yes) and another who wanted in, so she was willing to be Miss Wormtail even if it meant being related to rat dung. (She wasn't actually his daughter - she was his third cousin or something.) So we were the "Miss Marauder Quatro" for a while. Then we all eventually left the forums, but we still keep in touch.

Brithla is Sindarin for pearl. I was looking for a live journal name a few months ago and wanted something Elvish, so I went through a dictionary and brithla caught my eye. So now it's what I go by almost everywhere.

My username means "witch" in Russian. It's simply but original... as long as you don't live in Russia.
The idea gave me my mother, because she calls me sometimes witch if I use my sharp tongue too often (yeah, my family overflows with love and affection ).

Well my creativity was very low lol
