Hi, again. Just thought I'd create a poll for the topic I've had fights with... certain...people about, they say dogs are best, but I'm a cat lover myself.
So the majority will rule, vote away!
If you have any comments, please post them here.

I love kittens...they're so cute!!! Cats are cool too. Alex Band's (lead singer of The Calling) cat, Parige is so cute.

Kittens with blue eyes and white fur are my fave!

I love cats and dogs (especially big dogs) a lot, but if I have to choose I'm definitely going for a cat. I always grew up with a zoo (at one point we had three cats, two dogs, two snakes, and two birds. We've also had spiders--ick--and guinea pigs and iguanas), but I always preferred our cats.

I guess I like cats because they require less work and don't lick your face--they're generally smaller, too. As for my cat (Kitty) he's not so boring. He's leash trained and can fetch and sit up on his back legs. Cats have the most eccentric personalities, too!! And they don't mind if you don't have time for them sometimes.

Dogs are great because they are generally more obedient. They take a ton of energy, though!! You have to play with them for at least an hour each day, and that doesn't include their walk. Plus, if you don't pay attention to them daily, they will become destructive.

Both are very cuddly and soft and can help you feel better when you're down, though. I've always loved animals who could hug you back.

The reason I said that is 'cuz you can't train a dog to use a litter box, they just..er...go.
I just had to show my house-cat her box one time, she's never went in the floor once....

Yes, but that's because cats cannot stand the odor, but dogs don't care. That's why cats bury--and dogs don't.

Cats have an attitude of superiority.

I volunteer at a local animal shelter, so I get exposed to lots of cats and dogs (plus the occasional pot bellied pig, mouse, rat, snake and rooster) and it's just incredible how different cats and dogs really are. I can't really choose which I would rather have, because they are all so sweet. Being at the shelter makes me appreciate how much cleaner and quieter cats are than dogs, though!! Also, being at the shelter makes you realize just how hungry for human affection cats truly are.

Like I said before, I trained my cat to do a few tricks (fetch, sit up on his haunches, jump and come on command, give a high five, walk on a leash...). You can train most cats to do anything you train a dog to do, it's just a little different. I think people don't like cats because cats have a superior attitude sometimes, whereas dogs are always ready to play and give you affection. Cats are moody.

Sorcery, I hate that you're allergic to cats and dogs! but you can teach some birds to do things you can never teach dogs or cats to do! At least, my cat isn't about to whistle the Andy Griffith theme song any time soon...

I like dogs because cats just want to be petted and fed all the time, and sure dogs need attention but if they don't get it they don't go into hiding and sulk in your basement for a year! I love dogs because they love you. Cats do too, but not as much as dogs. Fish are just boring things that swim in a dish, and hamsters are great if you want somebody to be bitten or crapped on! They don't have much use otherwise! And birds- they have really pretty songs and all but... so what?
And don't yell at me, it's called an OPINION and some smart person said I was entitled to my own, so there it is. Dogs rule. Cats don't rule as much. Fish put you to sleep. Hamsters suck. Birds are annoying. Bye now!

You couldn't have been more specific, could you?

I don't care what anybody says, I just think cats are better, I don't know why. And if you want an aquatic pet, Sea-Monkeys are the way to go!!
You never have to clean thier tank and you only feed them once a week!!!

Before you go thinking you want to start a chicken farm, visit one. It's extremely hard work and the smell is worse than horrible and the animals are extremely stupid. There is a chicken farm not far from where I spend such delightful holidays as Easter and Thanksgiving and Independence Day and when the wind blows the wrong direction there is no eating.

Also, roosters are really vicious. It really, really, really hurts when they spur you--and when they begin attacking they don't stop until you're down or they're dead. I promise I'm not trying to rain on your parade, I just want to give you an idea of the reality of working with hens and roosters. I worked at a hatchery one summer--I'll never do it or anything like it again.

Miss_Prongs003, I have no problem with you having your own opinion, but you don't have to attack! That font just says "I'm screaming in your face." I don't think anyone here has had anything to say about anyone else's opinions. We've been having a pretty cool discussion, actually.

Lesley, I love Newfoundlands. They are just beautiful dogs! I like boxers, too. What big lapdogs!! If I could have a dog I think I'd go for something big, too.
