I've noticed that some of us are hockey fan and find it weird that we didn't have any thread here about it. So here's a place where we can talk about the match, what we think about certain team and what we believe will happen in the year to come.

I'm a huge Red Wings fan and was really disappointed with their loss last night. They did so well during the playoffs, but it was like they ran out of steam in the semi-finals. Talk about frustrating!!

The game last night was painful to watch at times, but I was rather happy that they fought back at the end and nearly forced the game into overtime.

So now it's on to the finals. Go Sens!

I'm a Die Hard Devil's fan!! So you can imagine my heart break this year. But that's ok, I guess they can allow other teams to win every now and then. After all we do have 3 cups!!!

So, who am I rooting for since my team is out? That's easy!!! LET'S GO DUCKS!!! How can a Devil's fan not want the Niedermayer brother's to lift the cup together??!!

*giggles* I understand your frustration. I love the Red Wings but my #1 team is Montreal.

Have been following them for a while. We all thought that they were going to make the playoff. The first half season was awesome, but i don't know what happens during the hollidays. After that everything went down. The last game they were doing fine, leading the game but then they let the game go.

I did watch the last match *sorted of since i was disappointed throughout the game* I really think that the 3rd period the Red Wings was back in it but it was a little too late.

Ah, yes, if only they played the entire game with the aggressiveness I saw in the last five minutes of the third period, they would have wiped out the Ducks.

Ahhh But there is no wiping out the Niedermayer brothers! They want the cup. Rob has never won a cup before and has always stood in the shadow of his brother until now. I didn't think Anaheim would do it.... I honestly thought the finals would be Redwings/Sabres. But now that they did, I think the Ducks can finally do it!! They fell short last time against the Devils of course, so they want their turn in the spotlight!

They were awesome at the last five minutes. I remember looking anxiously at the tv wanted them to make a more goal so they would have been able to go in overtime but it didn't come. Giguere was stronger than Hasek even if he did goal a good game.

Now for the game Ottawa vs Anaheim, i really believe that Ottawa have the upper hand on this. They've been awesome troughout the season & the playoff. They are in a roll and doubt that this will stop now

HEyy Heyy. Where are the Houston Aeros? They should be uppppp there on that list. Or do they not have a team anymore. I don't remember. If they doo then I'ma shamed you left them out. It is the Hockey thread am I right.

As of right now. I was rooting for the Red Wings that is because Sabz and Berrie (Marie) made a bet with me if the Flames lost I had to root for the Red Wings.

And nowwww. I'm rooting for the Sens because I don't like ducks. They bite.

I was hoping it would have been Wings/Sabres in the final, but when Ottawa beat the Sabres, I figured the Wings would have made it to the finals to defeat the Sens *sighs*

Ah, well, what's done is done. But yes, Giguere was stronger last night. Hasek made some very good saves, but it just wasn't enough.

I agree Marie. I do believe Ottawa has the upper hand. Yes, the Ducks want the Cup, just as the Senators do. Though I do believe this is the first time Anaheim has reached the Stanley Cup finals? If so, then that's an even better motivation to secure the cup.

However, Ottawa, as Marie did, is on a roll. I just suppose we'll have to see who wants the Cup the most.

*giggles at Pickles* Actually I put every NHL team up and they have only 30 team. They Aeros Houston aren't in the National league, but you can talk about them here since it's Hockey

Oh. And that makes a difference. They should have tow polss then. One for the MHL or whatever it is and the AHL leagues. *hmph*

This is the 2nd time the Ducks have reached the cup the first was against the Devils in 2003 which the Devils won!

Neither the Sens or the Ducks have won the cup so they are both VERY hungry!

Ah, but yes, Pauline. I do like the Aeros as well. I"ve only seen a few of their games, but they are a fantastic team

*nodded at Kerry* It's true I remember that. I don't remember when was the time that the Sens went that far in the playoff, but it was a long time ago XD. I have to agree that they both very hungry for the Cup. I think it's funny for the Captain of both conference of not touching the Semi-Final Cup. I know this superstition have been there for a while but it makes me laugh everytime.

Seriously Marie? I never realized that. Superstition yes, but most hockey teams/players do have their own little acts that they perform before/after a game. If it makes them feel lucky, well then more power to them

Yes. If you look carefully everytime a team go in the final, when they took the official picture you will see that the Captain is looking at the Cup, but not touching it. Most of them considered this bad luck. I don't know how or when it's start but it's rather funny.

The semi-Final cup have already been given. They give it after the match.

Supersistions. It's weird. A lot of sports have supersistions.

I meant for the AHL berrie. *giggles* I know they already gave the Sem-Final cup away. Captains not touching that's weird. That's like.... umm.. well I can't think of anything at the moment, but it's like something.

I know they have that superstition of not touching the conference final cups but I swear I thought I saw a Senator touch it...though I could be wrong. Hmmmm... wonder what that will mean?

I've watched the game and not, he didn't touch it. He went close to it but kept his distance. I really have to find out who started this. This sis a rather funny superstition XD
