I was inspired with "Braces" thread so I made this.

How many people on SS wear glasses, contact lenses, both, or none at all?


I've worn glasses since I was 8 years old (and I'm 18 now) because I liked to read comics very much and watched TV at a very close distance. Because of this, I've been diagnosed with nearsightedness (miopia) and astigmatism. Some of my friend are recommending me to use contact lenses but I can't because it is hard to find astigmatism contact lenses here. Besides that, it would be weird to leave my glasses since I have been wearing them for the past 10 years.

I wear glasses. When I was at school I used to come home every day with headaches and had to go to bed to sleep it off because pain medication didn't do anything. I have astigmatism too, and have been wearing glasses since I was about 14, but I needed them much earlier. Now I get headaches if I'm not wearing them ever

Sooo, I have both. I wear my contacts most of the time but I also just got new glasses so I wear those too. Yup.

I really want new ones!! Mine are so hard to clean, and I'm usually looking out of smudged glasses. It's so annoying and they won't clean properly!!

And new ones are awesome

I got my glasses in March last year and only used them for school because I didn't like them. Then this year in October I got contacts for dance I love my contacts even though I sometimes have problems

I reaaally like glasses. But my eyesight is as good as it can be.

I use glasses, though my friends are bugging me to get contacts. I go without them for ballet, though. I don't want them flying off my face again.

I've actually needed them since I was seven, but we only found out two years ago. And... yeah. I'm 14 now.

I wear glasses. I need new ones though, these ones keep slipping off.

I have both, but use my contacts usually when needed only, like on a bright sunny day, I don't have prescription sunglasses, so prefer contacts when I need sunglasses

using glasses is cool for me Why? Because people will think you are an intelligent, smart person (but I'm not too smart I think )
Maybe for the first time, you will feel uncomfortable, but if you wear it longer you can't live without it (Of course! I have -5,25 in my right and -3,5 in my left eye )

the first time I wore them I was so scared people would call me nerdy and... Harry Potter but they made me smarter Well not really, but they stopped me from having daily headaches so I was able to concentrate and study more! not that I did

I wear glasses only Been wearing since 2005 (when I was 12). My eyesight is really bad cos I read a lot and also watch a great deal of TV. My right side lens are a bit thicker than my left O___o
But I love my glasses. Wear them every minute of the day except during sleep & shower time.

Me too ^ I feel so bare without them my eyes really feel weird without them looking through them *hugs my glasses*

Me and my boyfriend both wear them and we play the most ANNOYING game of trying to poke each others glasses *twitches* it's SOOOOOO infuriating hahaha

I wear contacts most of the time but when I'm reading I wear glasses. But I much prefer contacts.

I wear glasses to read and do stuff in the computer. I was supposed to use it all the time, but mostly I don't feel like using them lol
I, too, have miopia and astigmatism. I got it from my dad =P

I don't think I'd ever use contact lenses, because I've seen some of my cousins "losing" their contacts in their eyes and I freaked out =P not cool at all!

I know! It was so weird. They got it out eventually, but still... not for me, really =P

I'm short-sighted and am supposed to wear my glasses when I look at things far away, but usually I neglect wearing them as often as I should I asked if I could get contacts but apparently it heightens the risk of eye infections or something. I wish I HAD got contact though, skiing when you can barely see even with short-sightedness is not very fun.

Need glasses for reading or using the computer. My wife on the other hand has to wear specs for distance and goingto the cinema.

I wear glasses. I got my first pair when I was a freshmen in HS. I wear them in class and what not but not around the house. I have thought about getting contacts, but I don't know, maybe one day. (haha "one day" reminds me of that contact commercial )

I wear both but mainly just contacts. I wear glassed to bed and when I want to give my eyes a little break!

I thought I needed glasses 'cause I had massive migraines, but it turned out I didn't need them at all.

I wear both contacts and eyeglasses. I wear my contacts during the day, and the glasses at night, when I know that no one else except my parents and me are going to see them.

I've had my contacts go up in my eye before. It's one of the most miserable experiences you'll ever have.
