I actually missed my 1st GP on Sunday in 6 years.............I was watching the footie.........but will someone please PLEASE do something about Alonso, I don't think I can take anymore of seeing Renault on the top of the podium!!!!!!!!!

yay thread is up just watched qualifying for the race later im surprised that the ferrari's are 1 and 2 but glad that fisi is ahead of alonso going to be a good race hoping all my drivers do well

COME ON JENSON!!!!!!! We need him to cheer the country up after yesterday (apart from Andy Murray doing so well). I'm glad Schuey is on poll, as long as Alonso doesn't win, the championship needs to be more open and the only way for that to happen is for Alonso to lose out on points for the next few GP's. Anyway, the race is at 6.00pm BST so my fingers are crossed already....................

Driver of the day?? 2 - Trulli drove a great race from the pitlane, and really held his cool. Schuey of course, cos' he is the best living F1 driver ever.

great race so pleased that fisi was on the podium, jarno drove a brilliant race from the pit lane and omg at the crash at the first and second corners couldnt believe that only 9 drivers finished

I know that many Schumacher-fans are going to hate me (but I know you won´t, Shelley) after I say this, but - in my opinion - anyone but M.Schumacher, even if it was that hotheaded slightly childish Alonso ... Oops, now I did it, I doubled the hate on me Also Fernando-fans are going to think I´m a stupid git But I´m not the one to support someone just because everyone else does ... I don´t support anyone just because my friends do ... I support whoever I want ... and they may support whoever they want ...

I´m not going to apologize my opinions, but I´m sorry if they hurt someone´s feelings Nothing personal ... It´s only sports, after all

Hope you didn´t get insulted I guess it´s Fisichella ... So at least we are in the same team But Webber isn´t too bad either ... There are loads of good/sympathetic drivers. I can usually cheer for someone else if my main favourite retires.


Even though I might like Fisi a bit more than Trulli, I think the latter might be slightly better driver, too bad Toyota´s car is the way it is ... BTW, did you know Fisi´s wife´s name is Luna?

There is no law that says you may support only one driver. So there you are: you´ve watched only one race, and you already have two potential favvies! So I guess you can have favvies even you haven´t spent years weeks watching F1

Villeneuve hasn´t been doing pretty well lately, but also he has been a F1-champion. I didn´t like him when he was, but later I have found myself pitying Villeneuve´s bad luck/lousy car ... It was a shame his car crashed into a wall in Montreal GP, really. Actually I would´ve wanted him to win the Canadian GP even though it didn´t seem possible. So I guess he belongs to my semi-favvies

I used to hate Schumey, Dru, but I see beyond the arrogance and ignorance and see a really good driver. I suppose it's cos' I'm old!!!!!!! I really like Alonso, he's a fab driver and a nice bloke, but I can't help wanting a really open championship..............

I have to confess, though, that I haven´t always hated MS, even though I have never loved him either. When I disliked Villeneuve ... I wanted Michael rather to win Well, Jaques win, which is good when I think about it now. So, my objects of hate vary in the F1-world; maybe I need someone to hate every now and then? *sings: Everybody, needs somebody, to hate, someone to hate ...* On the other hand, Niki Lauda may say almost anything, and he still is a ... Legend.

If you wanted a really open championship, wouldn´t it be nice if Fisi and Kimi could attend, too? It would be loads funnier and more exciting with four drivers competing about the Cup

Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher says he can’t see the attraction of the NASCAR Nextel Cup following Juan Pablo Montoya’s shock announcement that he will switch to the US-based series in 2007.

Montoya’s decision to turn his back on grand prix racing and begin a new career in stock cars is unprecedented for a top-line Formula 1 driver, and has stunned the motor racing establishment.

The Colombian has said he is excited by the prospect of getting stuck into NASCAR’s no-holds-barred racing.

Schumacher, though, is bewildered by the appeal of America’s most popular form of motorsport.

“Personally I wouldn’t do it,” the German said at Magny-Cours on Thursday.

“What do you do in NASCAR? What is exciting there?

“I can’t see that, running around on ovals.

“I don’t know how heavy the cars are, but they are heavy, very low developed cars compared to Formula 1.

“I don’t see the challenge.”

Schumacher refused to answer direct questions on whether he would miss his old foe Montoya.

And when asked whether F1 would be the poorer without a “character” like JPM, Schumacher said: “I don’t want to really get into it too much.

“I mean you don’t need to be friends with everybody and I can’t really say I have been friends with him.

“I don’t really know him enough and I don’t really care what comments other people make about him.

“I have no opinion on him.”


World champion Fernando Alonso was more charitable, saying: "Well I think [Montoya's switch] is a surprise for everybody here. But it's his decision and I hope he does well because in America it’s also quite fun."
