The shop has, over the years, expanded and is now a general repair store. The shopkeeper here will fix any magical equipment kwite kwikly. The shop is oddly shaped, long and thin. There is a counter at the back of the room, covered in tools. Presumably this is where repairs are made though quite often strange, whispered conversations might be observed down that far end of the store. ooc: Remember that Snitchseeker site rules and the Diagon Alley rules apply at all times. It was just another day of errands for Angelo, having agreed to pick something up for his family on his day off work, but at least he'd not have to wait alone. Surely Evie didn't mind being dragged along, even if it wasn't the cleanest of shops and... well, KA in general wasn't the cleanest of places, really, which was a pity. He was certain they would make more money down here if they cleaned things up a bit, to better reflect a certain element of their clientele. Hand in hand with Evangeline, the off-duty Auror opened the door and let her step through first. "Shouldn't be too much of a wait. Korpsit knows I was coming today." |

She kept his hand in hers as she walked through the door, her eyes moving about the room as she tugged him in after her. Her thoughts were similar to his - it was a shame they didn't keep up the place a little better. The alley as a whole really was... dirty. But she supposed it didn't matter if they still had their business. "And where are we going after this?" Had he seen the open house flyer she had left on his table? It was in a couple hours. |

"That will depend on you." Angelo said casually. "I have no other plans, I'm all yours today after we're done here." He was certain she'd have ideas for things that she wanted to do after he had picked up his package. "Shall we sit?" He indicated the shabby looking seats and hid a smile. |
Quote:
"Isn't that dangerous, leaving it up to me?" It could be. If she was feeling a certain way. Her eyes darted to the seats and had a harder time hiding her smile. It brought back memories, didn't it? A dark, dirty store with a shabby couch. There was much more flirting that first time, over ten years ago. Fond memories. "I'm fine standing," she replied. |
these are not the timestamps you're looking for *waves fingers mysteriously* Quote:
"You haven't got me in any trouble so far, Evangeline." Angelo said. Nothing he couldn't handle anyway. He grinned at her, not bothering to play innocent. He was certain she remembered the first time they were here. A long time ago now. He remembered it. Every second was clear to him. It was, after all, when they had met. "Are you just?" A pause from Angelo Toussaint. "You can sit here if you like." He patted his knee artfully. Not so knobbly as back then. Still clean though. |
Quote:
And of course she remembered the first time they were here. It was her first time in Knockturn Alley, because her curiosity had gotten the best of her. And she was quite lucky a nice, cheeky teenage boy had shown up to flirt with her because he and his last name probably saved her from some unwanted trouble. And, you know, a lot else had happened since then. Her eyes darted back at him and his knee. She had a hard time resisting a smile, but it was that instead of the blush that had come over her when she was just a young teenager. Always the flirt. She glanced at his knee again. "I don't know. Looks a bit knobby." Even though it very well did not. His years of training had put on quite the handsome amount of muscle on him. But she could never resist teasing him. |
Quote:
"knobbly is it? Suit yourself - it shouldn't be much of a wait for the package." He did pat his knee again though, the offer still stood. Or, well, sat. Because he was sitting, and it was his knee that was the offer. |

She glanced back at him on the sofa one last time, a corner of her lips turned up into a smile. And then she gave in. Stepping back, Evangeline sat herself right on Angelo's lap, her legs crossing politely and her arm gracefully draping around his shoulders. She wondered if he expected her to give in. He always seemed to know what her intentions were. "Happy?" |
Quote:
"It shouldn't be too long now." The wait. For the package. |
Quote:
She could do with a ring. But, you know. Perfect. They waited for the package and Evie pressed her lips to his temple briefly while they did so. Her fingers absently toyed with the ends of his hair on the back of his head. "Oh, I need to get more cat food for Button." You know, while they were out. |
The goblin huffed into his store, his patience worn thin by the wizard he'd been waiting on for the better part of an hour. Wizards. They respected no one's time, least of all that of goblin's. It left him in a grumpier mood than having to wrangle the child back to the alley when she made her little escapes. Beady eyes looked over to the pair he found there. One was the reason he'd subjected himself to the disrespect. Not inclined to have more of his time wasted, the goblin moved over and shoved a box into his hand. "Here." He said gruffly, not bothering to spare a glance at his company. Now could they get out? He didn't think they'd be buying anything and law enforcement in his shop always set him off. Box delivered. Job done. Korpsit turned and headed for the back room. There were supplies to be restocked. |
Oh good. The package. Hand delivered by the most gentlemanly goblin that ever existed. Angelo inwardly smirked because he found himself hilarious, while outwardly he took the package and thanked the goblin proprietor smoothly, not at all bothered by his speedy departure. "Thank you, Korpsit." As for cat food for Button... well Angelo made a mental note of that because he was pretty sure that soon enough, Evangeline would forget all about that. "I better open this now to make sure its exactly as I ordered it." He unfolded the brown paper as he spoke, and then the ring box that was revealed within, he casually let rest on Evie's knee, still closed. "I would get down on one knee, but you're on it." He said, smile in his voice. And yes, he would too, if she wanted, even on this particular dirty floor. |
Quote:
Just as she turned her attention back to Angelo, she felt him place the box on her knee. And when she looked at it and tried to imagine why they waited so long for such a small little box, she almost didn't process the words he spoke about getting down on one knee. .... Oh. That's why the box was small. Heart jumping, Evie nearly leapt from Angelo's knee (um, hopefully he was still holding onto that box) and took a step backward, surprise written across her face. It took a moment, but words finally registered and left her mouth. "You are not proposing to me in Knockturn Alley." It was partially a question, partially a statement of disbelief and she was struggling to keep back the tugging at her lips that was threatening to either turn in to a grin or a full-blown cry. Time would tell. |
Quote:
He kept hold of the small box, grasped between finger and thumb as she leaped up and Angelo was unable to keep the grin off his face, slightly crooked tooth on display. She'd known it was coming, and he'd wanted the moment itself to be a surprise and not a repeat of someone else's heard-it-before story. "Actually, that's exactly what I'm doing." And since she was up, he slid off the dumpy couch onto one knee. Might as well do it right. "It was here I first saw you, Evangeline. This place, this hovel of a shop, is where my whole life changed in one moment, just because a pretty, intelligent, curious girl, decided to be a little bold and explore Knockturn Alley. I could have taken you anywhere in the world to ask this question, to any dazzling place, somewhere luxurious, classy, elegant - these are things that you know by now are the norm in my life, in my family. I take them for granted sometimes," He admitted, "But you make me see the whole world with fresh eyes. You are resplendent in any setting." Like a flawless diamond for instance, set in a ring. He didn't say that part, but Angelo did open the ring box to reveal exactly that. A veritable rock. Oval cut, platinum. "I will gladly kneel in the dirt for you, Evangeline. I would give it all up for you." Though there was no chance he'd be presenting her with a ring like this one if he'd only had his Auror paycheck to go from. There were undeniable perks being from money, to being Angelo Toussaint. Still, the sentiment was true. Even with how important his family was to him, he truly would give it all up for her. And being here, kneeling on a rickety, dirty floor, under eerie green lights, he hoped she would understand that, that she'd feel it in the way he looked at her now, that as long as he was with her, any place was perfect, because she was beautiful and she changed everything for him. "Evangeline Shacklebolt, will you take my name and all that comes with it? Will you marry me?" |
Quote:
Evangeline laughed a little, but it really just turned into a little choke of a sob and she quickly covered her mouth to keep it in because, really, she wanted to hear what he had to say. She had been WAITING, after all, for what seemed like a very long time. It was perfect, really. Angelo could have proposed to her in any fancy, great hall in the world. He had access to it all. His name gave him privileges that 15 year old Evie could have never imagined. Evangeline had seen a lot of them now. His name... His name meant a lot of things, including a lot of things she didn't even understand yet. But all that mattered was that she could be with him forever. Sappy and gross, yeah, but that was what she wanted. It was what she had always wanted. Her eyes had started to tear up when he finally asked. Take his name? "You know that's asking a lot, don't you?" she said with a teary laugh, her one last attempt at a tease before she gave her answer. "Of course I'll marry you. Of course, yes, yes." And now she knew he HAD seen that ring catalog she dropped because the ring... It was perfect. |
Lets pretend it hasn't been a million years. Quote:
"I know its a lot. If anyone can handle it, its you." And she needed that ring on her finger now. Angelo took her hand and, without shaking even a little bit, he slid it on her finger, right where it belonged. "I love you, Evangeline." He got to his feet again, and held his arms out. Hug? Yes? Maybe a kiss or several? He'd never kissed a fiancée before, but now that he had one, he planned to do so constantly. |
Quote:
Watching him slide the ring onto her finger, Evangeline felt the tears fall from her eyes, her smile only growing. "I love you too," she replied, throwing her arms around him in one of the biggest hugs she had ever given him. It felt so good. She had known that Angelo wouldn't leave her. They were a team. But now... finally, they were engaged. And it felt good. "I love you so much," she whispered, squeezing him tight. Then she pulled back just enough to grab his stupidly handsome face and plant a kiss on his lips. It was probably wet. But she didn't care. |
Quote:
"Of course you do." Angelo said, a hint of the cocky boy that he had been sliding through with the grin on his face. He didn't mind the sloppy kiss either, because all her kisses were for him regardless. "I know you're enjoying this trip down memory lane... but if you're done reminiscing... I think we've got a few more errands to run, don't you?" Yes, he was implying that it was HER fault they were in this dodgy dirty shop. It SORT of was, in a way. She was the reason for everything important in his life. |
