In the first post when submitting your plot, you can add a paragraph describing a canon or none canon (a residence, farm, camp etc etc etc) location that revolves around the plot. You can also add an image or banner into the post for creative visual, only make sure its uploaded to your image host account

I think it would be nice to have like a mentoring role playing forum or something. We have a lot of new RPers and some of them aren't experienced and they make mistakes and some of the more advanced RPers sometimes get frustrated with them. Forgetting that they used to be a novice
But anyways just a forum where older advanced RPers can set up a thread (sort of like the threads in the graphic forums) and offer to mock "role-play" with a novice to give them advice and pointers and just generally help them through those bumpy times. Just some one on one help you know.

I dont like that idea at all. How would we determine who was a good roleplayer and who was not? Would it be right for us to degrade some people because they aren't the best spellers, keeping in mind this is a site of all ages and english isn't everyones first language? Is it fair to create this forum simply so 'advanced' RP'ers don't get annoyed? There is a forum for advanced roleplayers to go if they don't want to be roleplaying with 'less skilled' roleplayers than themselves. When I was the Head of KA I made the stickied thread 'How to RP' in order to help new people, but I think it would cause too much division and be unfair on some people. Afterall, why not let them just join a roleplay and help them out in the roleplay? Practice makes perfect, we don't need a new forum for them to practice in when we have perfectly capable forums already. Besides I doubt a lot of people would 'volunteer' for adive and admit to not being great at roleplaying. Accepting and playing with people make them better roleplayers, not singling them out and forcing them to be better. I have improved so much over the years just by practicing in the school and here... I needed no forum.

I kind of have to side with Tomasina. Rookie RPers tend to get on my nerves. It's not just bad spelling and grammar that gets to me (though blatant mistakes tend to tick me off). Rookies just need a place where they can hone their skills. A lot of times they just don't have long enough posts or sometimes they make a move for another character. I just think that there should be a forum for people who are completely new to the RP scene. It's hard to just jump in with a bunch of pro's and pick it up.

Ok, I'm going to add my two cents, because it's my job.
While I see what you are saying about the Rookie thread and I can see how some newbies need to learn, I feel this idea is pointless. We have two threads for members to RP in. Borgin and Burkes is for anybody, meaning anybody. This includes Rookie RPers, and/or new people to this site. This is where many members begin. Basically this is the newbie thread, if you want to look at it that way.
However, there is another thread. The Malfoy Manor is a place where more experienced members can open an RP and other experienced members can join. This is for members who like to post more than one liners. It is also a place where the RP has more depth and descriptive story. I am not saying that everybody who enters The Malfoy Manor is an experienced RPer, but who are we to say this member is experienced, while this one isn't? It's the members responsibility to judge for themself if they are experienced or not.
I also want to agree with what Lee said. Not everybody on this site can speak english well and/or it might not be their first language. This site is universal. So just because somebody doesn't put a comma here, or spells a word wrong there doesn't mean they are wrong. We see it as wrong because we know better. But the member who is from another country may think they are correct. Slowly, by RPing with respected RPers they begin to learn. Same with the one liners. I know quite a few people who didn't know how to RP at all and most of their posts contained one liners, (me being one of these people if you can believe it. ) But as they RPed with experienced people, their RPing skills grew. If we were to change that and put all the newbies together, how would they learn? They would just continue to post one liners, with their bad grammer/spelling. They would have no one to learn from.
So you can see now why I believe making a newbie thread would be just a awful idea. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Uhm...not sure if somebody already suggested that - if so I do apologize - but how about a Quotable Quips thread? Or something similar to that... You know, like in the School RPG...
Again, sorry if this has been suggested already...

Elliott Raphael Maine II Magical Law Enforcement | Whoop!Phyre || ❤LiliAnzaScarNatAmyEmi || Professional Vigilante || The Flying Tomato It's an idea that might be hard to carry out or might even make the site slower, but I have one concerning the structure of RPGs. A lot of complex RPGs and/or Vanishing Cabinet RPGs have more than one designated area inside the plot. Say, different rooms or even completely different locations, much like the School and Ministry RPs. If it were made so that a RP creator could set up sub-threads for different locations/rooms within their RP's plot structure, it could make things flow quicker/add to the quality of the RP. I know that, whilst contemplating a Vanishing Cabinet RP for either of my characters, I immediately jump to their house, not one singular area. Even if it were limited to the Vanishing Cabinet, I think having an actual structure to the architecture of the setting would be extremely gratifying to any thread creator. Like I said, with more sub-threads to operate, there would automatically be more to operate within the website, causing a slower reaction rate. There are always negatives, I suppose, with an idea. But, if this growth was regulated - or, perhaps, limited to a singular thread as pictures are to a singular user? - it could be kept manageable. Just a thought. Thanks any consideration this will receive.

Just so it's clear, even if we (the KA team) do not directly reply to your suggestions don't worry - we are absolutely reading them and taking every single last idea into consideration! You guys are AWESOME and so are these ideas, I'm glad we have such dedicated RPers. Thanks guys! Quote:

Actually, as the creator of an RP, you're free to set that bio time limit in your role-plays if you wish to just the same as some members set a few ground rules of their own. It's entirely your choice when it's your own thread.

I don't know if someone submitted this idea already, but I'll just suggest it anyway.
What if there was a forum for new RPers to sort of get in the hand of things? Sort of an amateur forum, and maybe mods could post the plots and the RPers could just have a go at RPing?

This actually was bought up before, and it was decided that we did not want to go ahead with the idea. Borgin & Burkes is basically our learning ground for the newbies. Malfoy Manor and Salazar's are for our more advanced roleplayers.
Of course, we may eventually look into this again in the future, but as for now, it's doubtful. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Travel through a raging hurricane on sharp rocks in barefeet without getting damaged.
What about a place to post for needed characters? Because sometimes Spots on the list are open and on the comments they are already claimed and it confuses me.
