The vases out front are only a hint of what you’ll find inside the Spiny Serpent. As you pass through the doorway a buzzer that howls like a banshee goes off, announcing your presence to the shopkeeper and the denizens of The Spiny Serpent. The store is split between flora and fauna; sentient plants, magical plants, dangerous plants, semi-illegal plants, can all be found here. Likewise any dangerous or dark creature you have a hankering for can be found within the walls of the shop.

If there is a creature you'd fancy but can't quite be bothered with applying for the appropriate permits, you've come to the right place. Need guides for breeding magical plants or creatures? You'll find those here too, plus everything you'll need in your, shall we say, creative endeavors.

Anything that you can’t see on the shelves in front of you can still be found... for the right price, so go ahead and place an order if you dare, just remember you didn’t get it from here.

She was going to have to kill her parents if she made another trip to Knockturn Alley, but Paris just wasn't going to tell them what she was going. The tiny witch's heels clanked on the cobblestone and she moved with a purpose down the street heading to toward the plant shop.

She was carrying a purse almost too big for the 4 ft 7 inch woman, but it was serving a purpose today. The hood of her cloak slipped down her head to reveal her newly dyed hair. Platinum blonde, hardly a color one would forget, thus Paris wearing her hood up. She shoved her hood back up over her head and hurried into the plant store.

Her experiments with plant venoms was going faster than she thought it and she needed a new supply. She pushed open the door and nearly crawled out of her skin at the sound. "Bloody dark wizards," she muttered. They were more dramatic than a pack of 15 year old girls.

Once the sound died away she walked through the shop browsing the different plants on display.

Jack wondered into the shop, imagining all of his past memories of being back at school. "oh i remember my first ever herbology lesson, with all the wondrous carnivorous plants and the venomous tentacula with all it's teeth" Jack thought to himself. He walked a little way into the shop and noticed a peculiar plant he had never seen before. He leant over to look at it and instantly it disappeared out of view. He pondered for a minute and wondered whatever it could have been.

After roaming around for a while around the spectacular shop he decided that today wan't a good day for a purchase and so left the shop wondering where he should go next.

"Side effect of WHAT?" Wes spat, pushing his way into the nearly empty Spiny Serpent shop. He stormed down an aisle at random, trying to remember what he was looking for.

Evander was perfectly aware of the possible consequences, but it was part of his intentions. He followed into the Spiny Serpent and silenced the loud buzzer that went off with an absent minded flick of his wrist.

Right, that was it. Wesley turned around, having picked up a tiny bottle in his hand, and clenched his fist around it tightly, crushing the bottle into shards in his hand. He launched the fist toward Van, socking him wherever he could.

No, it wasn't a side effect, because obviously he hadn't taken it yet.

He got a few in, but Van just rolled with it, having expected precisely this reaction and of course Wes wasn't exactly in control of himself and so he was sloppy. The only real difficulty was his knee, but Van just grit his teeth and stoically bear the discomfort as he kept moving and avoiding most of Wes's attempts at hitting him.

"Damn it, Van," Wes rumbled, somehow still turning and punching and flailing and falling a bit, until he actually DID fall, tripping over one of Evander's feet unintentionally and landing himself on the hard, packed dirt floor.

The back of his head hit the cold earth and the shock of falling seemed to wake him up a bit. He remained lying there instead of attempting to get up as he tried to grasp everything that had happened today, including the fact that he had just tried to punch his best friend and boss.

No matter. "Complaining gets us nowhere..." Wes sighed in response. Yeah yeah, we got the message. He shot Van a glare at his next comment and shook his head. Franklin Wesley Logan Ferguson NEVER cried. Ever. Except maybe that one time when his wife had died.... but no one could possibly know about that....

"If the shoe were on the other foot, if it was up to ME to choose between HER and work?" He gave his friend a look. "You know which I would choose." He had chosen women over work in the past, and that side of him had never changed. It probably never WOULD change; that was just who he was.

And he'd rather his mate be glaring than crying. At least the man had seemingly snapped out of the funk he'd been in. Really, this wasn't even that BIG of a situation. They were both acting like sulky teenages, Wes and Izzy both.

"And if you really love her, you should respect her priorities and trust that she loves you regardless of how she sets them for herself. It isn't fair to hold it against her, or to storm off and sulk and make her worry." Really, in Van's opinion, it was the reverse of how it should be. And he KNEW the full moon was tomorrow, and that was likely effecting the man.

He wasn't always so unsteady.

The YATI were less emotional than these two.

"First of all, you know the Ministry keeps an emergency supply." Van was brusque, "And you should also have guessed by now that I will bloody well do what I can to help you, you need only say so. Lets tackle THAT first and then you need to go and talk to Isobel and tell her you're an idiot."

Now he felt really bad. He felt low, low down like a... dog. Like a.... well he didn't need to go there, so..... Wes just shuffled after Van, looking absolutely miserable as they went on the hunt for potions ingredients.
