Who are we and what do we do?
We are a collection of fans of the author who brought us all together here on SS - J.K. Rowling! Our fan club's activities include several intelligent discussions about Rowling and the world she has created, as well as many different activities including competitions and games!

I've joined the JKRFC, now what do I do?

Why I Love JKR: Cos without a doubt she is cool. To get so many people interested in her little world, to get so many people reading for fun, and bring attention to so many worthy causes and then balance that with a home life caring after small children, is there anything this woman can't do?!?

Me: I'm from a little town in Nottinghamshire England and work for the Police. I don't have much of an imagination so that is why I love the HP books, it just sets the scene so effortlessly, even someone who is as uncreative as me can get into them.

Me on SS: I'm spending a bit of my time recently at the games section and I am trying to get into the Ministry RP, so if you are bored and see my online, come poke me and I'll RP.

Random Fact: If I could be any HP charrie, I would be Tonks (pre book 7 - obviously)

Name: Jessica (but call me Jess)

Date of Birth/Age: August 16th, 1986 (21)

Why I love JKR: Jo is an amazing influence on young children and even adults all over the world. Growing up, I always hated reading and writing; I thought it was boring and dull - much rather be playing games. But then, after reading Harry Potter, and really getting into the storyline - waiting on line at midnight for Book 6 & 7 to be released - there was something in her stories that made reading enjoyable. It made me appreciate books much more... and for that, I have a ton of respect for Jo.

About me: I am from the United States and a graduate student, majoring in Physical Therapy. It can be very interesting and exciting in one moment, while the next is strenuous and frustrating. There are times where it may seem as though I'm not online much, but it's simply because school swallowed me up. But no fear, I will always come back.

On SS: Been active on SS for over a year now, and have loved every moment of it. From being Prefect in the school RP, to Department Head in the Ministry RP, to getting involved in the Fan Clubs ... it's never a dull moment. If you're bored and want to meet my RP charries, then feel free to contact me - my charries are always looking to meet new people.

Random Fact: While I joined SS in Oct 2006, I didn't get involved until about Feb 2007.

Why I love JKR: There's so many reasons I can't name them all even if I could. She's just simply amazing. She started out with nothing basically and went on to write this amazing piece of fiction that inspired millions around the orld to make their dreams possible. I can't imagine what she had to go through to get this far, keeping up with her children plus her hectic life.

About me: Nothing really to say. I'm looking for a good college where I can get a degree in graphic design. Making graphics here on SS hsa been a great way to improve my skills. I'm bouncy, I guess you could say. My nickname amonst friends is Spazzzy (long story).

On SS: Well I started back in 2006 (has it really almost been 2 years) For the first few months I was active, getting to kno my amazing friends. Then I lost my password and ouldn't get back on. It was a grueling 6 months or so until I finally remembered it and logged back in to see so many changes. I got back into the hang of things and quickly grew up in ranks. I became active in many fan clubs (ADFC, HEFC ETC) and soon became more than a member. Everyone on SS is like family.

Why I Love JKR: Well, the cliche answer would be because she "created the whole Harry Potter universe and without her we wouldn't be here." However, outside of that, I admire her because she's a leader. She gives girls and women hope that they can do whatever they put their mind to no matter what. She is intelligent and puts a lot of thought into whatever she sets her mind to. She stands up for what she believes in and is not afraid to be different. <333

Me: I'm from a small, rural town in southern Louisiana, USA. I teach 3rd grade. Outside of Harry Potter, I'm also into dancing and American Idol.

Me on SS: I just started posting in January, 2008. I get on SS every day, and I consider myself to be a very active member. I love to get involved with things, and I try to attend every class and turn in every homework assignment.

Random Fact: In real life, I am a mirror image of Hermione Granger. Mainly, it's our cleverness, the way we act at school, and our bossy know-it-all attitude (at times, hee hee), but I was even blessed with VERY THICK, sometimes unruly, long, brown hair. lol

Reason for JKR love: I love JK Rowling because of the amazing world she lets your imagination wander to. I think it is amazing that you can get somebody to get magnetized that much to a book. The current HP book i was reading at a the time would be like my security blanket.

Character: my father died because he was an auror. I am half blood, and my mother doesn't live in the wizarding world anymore. I myself am not a student at hogwarts, but i do work for the ministry of magic. Level six, Broom Regulatory.

Why I Love J.K. Rowling: J.K.R. is really fantastic and the best writer I have come across. I love her books and ever since reading the first Harry Potter book I never have been able to let go. My friend at work lent Philosopher's Stone to me a few years ago and I have been hooked ever since. Before Harry Potter, I didn't like reading much, but now, everyday I read, even atleast one page.

SS Life: I like the FF's and the FC's here, I love playing the games also and making friends.

Name: Alanna is what most people call me. But I also go by Lanna or Blue or Bluey.

Why I Love JKR: She's an amazing author who is also a cool person, from what I've read in articles or seen on news.

Me: I'm currently in high school, and my goal in life is to be some sort of writer. I used to think I'd like to be a novelist, but I just don't have the attention span to write something that long, so I've been looking into short stories. I love my friends and my music, and though I procrastinate a lot I always get done what I need to.

Me on SS: Fairly recently, I got three new FC positions, so I spend a lot of time in the LLFC, BWFC, and F&GFC. I love the Ministry RPG and the amazing RP called A Hidden Realm (thanks Jayde). And, the TP is life. Sadly, my SS time is restricted by school sports and my mother's rules.

Random Fact: I'm a nervous person, but a combo of being on SS and listening to music calms me down almost instantly.

Why I love JKR: I've always wanted to be a writer and JKR has inspired me further. It's nice to see an everyday person work their way to fame like she did. It's not a story you hear often.

About me: I've been addicted to Harry Potter for as long as I can remember. I live in California, but I prefer colder climates. I'm a boookworm and a science geek. I can be extremely random at times. I've been known to go on and on about absolutely nothing...

On SS: I'm a total SS junkie. I'm always RPing or in one of the many FCs I'm part of. I love the TP and meeting new HP fans is a lot of fun. I spend way too much time here but it's fun
