When it comes to voting, every member of the JKRFC will vote on the graphic they like best. The member with the most votes at the voting deadline will win the competition.

As for promoting the competition, we talked about promoting through our avatars and signatures. I'm sure the PMs will be sent to each member of the JKRFC and I'm sure that word will get around that a compeition is going on in the club.

I think the PMs to all members that are enlisted as part of the FC will be integral to the promotion of this event...b/c like it was said before...it seems to be the same people coming over and over again...not that this is a bad thing...we just need to get everyone else active again.

Well, I certainly don't mind sending a few PMs re the competition. If it is shared out then it isn't such a burden on one or two people.

Was thinking as another activity (maybe after the graphics comp) doing a quiz on how much you know JKR and her work? Setting up and quiz and getting people to PM their answers? I was thinking that if it is done after the announcement of the winner of the graphics comp it keeps the FC activity up abit. Not too sure of the details at the moment, but what do you think?

I won't mind sending out a few PMs either if it means we can get more activity & participation in theclub & competition.

I think we should give members who didn't win something for their participation to show that we appreciate it.

Just had another idea for promotions (sorry for getting off track with the graphics comp).

With 1st April coming up - April Fools day. We could make use of people's user notes, not necessarily playing pranks on them, but maybe leaving crazy messages from JKR FC. Again, not really thought it through, was just something that came into my head. It gets the FC out there a bit more, whether we just constrict it to our members or go further a field.

Hmm ... for the whole "April Fool's" idea. I think that it could be done, with the help of our lovely mods. But it'll take a while for them to get put in with so many members in the JKRFC.

I think this is a wonderful idea! We could split the members list into as many parts as there are officers willing to help and send PMs or UNs with a silly message on them. Maybe a goofy phrase like "You've been sprayed with troll bogies! EWWWWW!" And then have some little message that say's April Fools from the JKRFC! But we need to get moving on this ASAP if we want to pull it off on/around April 1st! So we need to start coming up with funny sayings - maybe a handful or so - that we can put in the UN or PMs.

I also LOVED the quiz idea as another activity idea and I think it will be great for after the graphics contest! It would probably be a good idea to start planning this event as soon as you launch the graphics contest. This way, once the graphics competition is closed, there is only a few days to a week between events so it keeps people interested!

Now, as for the graphics competition, I need one person to make the final layout of all the details in one post so that everyone can refer to that post as the guidelines for the contest should a member have any questions. It'll be easier than having to read 12 different posts. How about launching the event on Saturday March 29th or Sunday March 30th and running it til Friday, April 11th. Then make voting from April 11th thru April 18th? Feel free to tweak these dates as needed, but I'd like to see a finalized plan no later than Wednesday March 26th. Thanks!

Why not make it an "and/or" thing? or would that be too complicated? Because some people might be better at siggies than avvie, or visa versa... but what do i know? I'm just the news person

How about having two separate categories for the contest then? This way people can choose to make an avatar AND/OR a signature and enter one or both categories. There can be a winner in each category! Yes? No?
