I loved that article so much! Jo explained everything wonderfully.
I just can't see why people can't except Dumbledore the way he is now. I mean, people used to love Dumbledore until Jo stated that he was gay. It's the same character and everything, just that he's a little different. I don't see what the big deal is with the I-hate-Dumbledore-now-because-he's-gay people. | |

Re the discussion on Jo's article...
I still find it bizarre that people are still making a big deal about Dumbledore being "outted" by JKR - so what that she didn't mention it in the books. They were Harry Potter books, not Albus Dumbeldore books. The only reference to his sexuality wasn't sordid or dirty, it was essential to the story line and I saw it as a bit tragic. That someone could fall in love so deeply that it changes their personality, but after the disaster of a relationship, never falls in love again. I just felt so sorry that it seemed he couldn't trust himself to fall in love afterwards, which was something that he always championed with Harry, that the greatest power is love and our greatest ability it to love.
I have been dumb-founded at people who say it was disgusting that Dumbledore was gay and was alone in his office with Harry. One - it's fiction and Two - How narrow-minded are they? It tends to be people who cannot tell the difference between love and sex who have the problem.
Personally, Dumbledore is my favourite charrie and I love the fact that he was gay because it just added so much depth that wasn't as vivid in the first 6 books. That the power he had so much respect and faith in was the side of his life that hid so much pain. | |

Uh, for some reason I see Jo like me; sitting at her computer all day long, or playing with her children (though I have none ) indoors. Or if she has an indoor porch then she'd be there watching her kids play outside as she works on her new book.
Though on the other hand she could love nature. | |
