Congratulations and welcome to our new officers! I see a couple have you have already started using the Officers Desk thread to brainstorm! Excellent!
Let's make sure we keep the discussions going strong folks! You all must have an opinion on the law suit against the Lexicon and you've all read the books so you're certainly qualified to discuss her characters and plots! So scoot on over to those two threads and start typing!  Call me greedy but I want both! LoL! I definitely want to read something new from Rowling because I think she is an amazingly talented author. But at the same time, I wouldn't object to a series of 'textbooks' and other books of the wizarding world. Now, other than the encyclopedia, I don't want another book about the story of Harry Potter or his kids, but I think it would be cool to have more of the mini-booklets that Jo wrote for charity for each subject (It would certainly help with the School RPG lol) and to have a Hogwarts, A History as was mentioned. It brings us more detail about the magical world without overkill of the storyline. But that's just one girl's opinion |

I feel the same way too, Tiff. Yeah, it would be interesting to know more about the kids through another book series, but it would never be as great as the origonal Harry Potter. I think that the mini-booklets and Hogwarts, A History would be a great thing to have out there.  | |

Definitly help us out with the school RPG  That would take a lot of work though; she didn't go into specifics on most classes, just the ones Harry was taking. Yeah, the textbooks definitely would take a lot of work, and some of them a lot of research (like Arithmancy). You know what book would also be hilarious to read - Rita Skeeter's biography on Dumbledore! Rita's writing is so acidic that I think it would be hilarious to read!  | |

You know, i can imagine the Lockhart books would be quite interesting to write, but to read them... I don't think I could do it! It would be far too painful, ha ha.
I think I only want the encyclopedia, (you know, too much of a good think and all) so I just hope it is a big book. Not too much detail but an insight into that world.
However, if she was to do an autobiography on one of her characters, I would love that to be Dumbledore (not the Rita Skeeter version). I think we've done the Harry think to the hilt, however Dumbledore lead a very long and interesting life that we only really got a glimpse of.
Does any one else have a fav charrie they would like a biograpgy about? | |
