Ohhhh, good question! Um, let me think... I guess HP books. They give way more descriptions of the characters, something you don't really see in the movies. There's also the little things you miss in the movies that are imperative to the books, like Winky and Kreacher, etc... You get thrown into the world of HP more when you read than when you watch the movies.

I totally agree with you - HP books, all the way. With the books, it allows for much greater depth and imagination. It's you who picks what the charries look like, or how they sound... or even pronunciations of simple words like 'accio' could be totally thrown off from book to movie. But the book allows for much more freedom of the mind.

I love them for all the reasons that you mentioned! I completely agree!
I always feel like in the end, I like the story, or the movie that I create in my own mind better that the movies that have been made! lol

The books all the way! I've never been a fan of the films as they don't really do the story justice. No offence to the people involved in the films, but you just can't tell the story in that limited time to the extent it deserves. They have to miss out so much to adapt it to screen, I find myself sulking when some of my favourite scenes have been cut or changed.

Plus, your imagination is 100 times better than anyone can capture on film. Sometimes they have to overact emotion to convey it on screen, and I think that it sometimes detracts from the character.

Saying that, I still have to go to see the films on opening night, even if it is to moan about it all the way through by saying "The book is so much better."

I have to say, I totally enjoy the books more than the movies, though I definitely enjoy the movies too. I usually prefer the books because they are so much more detailed, while the movies are forced to remove and change things due to time contraints. But I have become very good at separating the two and appreciating the movies for what they are. I really do love the movies and I think that having a visualization of certain characters and locations has made it very helpful when picturing scenes in my head that I'm reading in the book. I think I enjoy the books more now because of the movies, if that makes any sense! LoL!

It does make sense Tiff; and if it hadn't been for the movies, I probably wouldn't be here today. I read the first book before the movies came out, but my addiction wasn't solidified until the movies came out which encouraged me to read the rest of the books.

I so agree Tailz, I mean there's something about reading the books and imagining what's going on in the characters head than seeing it played out for you. Don't get me wrong I love the movies, but sometimes you can't reallty 'feel' what the character is thinking like you can i nthe books you know?

Ooh, that's a good one.

I think I would want a brand new novel. I think Harry Potter has gone as far as it can go novel wise, it would just feel like taking it too far.

Where as a new start to a new story, the possibilities are endless. Because it would be done from scratch, you have no expectations, it will be brand spanking new and you will just go with the flow rather than wondering each time you turn a page whether your questions would be answered.

That was a brilliant question.

I think a completely new novel. And I don't mean her encyclopedia either, I mean something new altogether. Sure, reading HP over and over and learning new things about it is awesome but something new would be fantastic. She would prove to all those critics out there she can write more than fantasy.
